As Luca began to float, Kenji exclaimed, "Good! That's what I'm talking about, new hero."
Luca exclaimed, "Whoa, this is pretty hard to control."
Kenji encouraged him, "Ahhh, you will get the hang of it."
Luca nodded. "I know I will."
Kenji afterwards asked, "So, kid, what's going on in the surface world outside of Naxon territories?
Luca explained, "It's pretty crowded by Naxons. Some cities are still kinda standing, but still no normal human can go there."
Kenji replied, "Ahhh, so nothing new, huh? I thought so. You know, I thought that I was never gonna see anyone, but I saw you. It's refreshing to know that humans are still alive."
Luca asked, "If I may ask…"
Kenji nodded for him to continue, "Go on ahead."
Luach asked, "Why aren't you trying to get stronger and defeat the Naxon king?"
Kenji looked down and said, "I tried multiple times to kill him, but every time he defeats me and ridicules me. He doesn't even kill me. I am growing more and more resentful of him. Therefore, I need you. I require assistance from you to defeat him."
Luca landed before Kenji and told him, "Teach me all that you know."
Kenji agreed but added, "Alright, kid. But first of all…" He leaned closer, his face serious. "I can feel something inside you, something more. I don't know why, but you feel somehow familiar."
Luca asked, "Familiar? What do you mean?"
Kenji confessed, "I really don't know. Let me see your Symbiote."
Luca called out, "Psyros, come out."
Then Psyros emerged from Luca's body, this huge, menacing black dragon with no wings. His body was covered in jagged scales and had these massive, curving horns. Its eyes were an intense purple glow-an awesome yet intimidating presence altogether.
Kenji looked at Psyros and said, "Wow, kid, that's quite the beast you got there. Is that even a Symbiote?"
Psyros merged back into Luca's body, and Luca replied, "Of course that's the Symbiote. A very powerful one too."
Psyros commented telepathically, "What an ass."
Luca couldn't help but chuckle a little at Psyros' comment.
Kenji laid his hand on Luca's shoulder and said, "You're strong, kid, but you are still weak. You're slow, and your telekinesis is weak. Try to throw a blast of telekinesis at me with your full strength."
Luca focused and launched an energy blast at Kenji. Deflected by Kenji's bare hands, he said, "Ahhhh, so weak. Why are you using only 40%? You know you can use up to 50%, right?" with a smirk.
Luca said, "I. I haven't tried. I was in a serious bad spot, and I managed to harness 40%."
Kenji urged him, "Try now."
Luca replied, "You asked for it," and then drew his sword. He started to focus his attention on the sword.
Kenji suddenly interrupted him, "Wait, wait, what's going on?"
Luca answered, "I am doing what you asked for."
Kenji fired back, "Yeah, but why are you focusing on your sword?"
Luca explained, "My Symbiote put all of its energy into this sword, and I draw from it little by little."
Kenji was shocked, thinking, "I have never heard of that kind of technique. And what does he mean, his Symbiote put ALL its energy inside it?"
Kenji said, "Okay, go on, kid; do your thing."
Luca closed his eyes and let his attention fall upon his sword to try pulling the power out of it, taking a deep breath in preparation. Suddenly, Luca's body started to expel bursts of energy; actually, he let out one huge wave of energy that surged toward Kenji, pushing him backward.
Psyros said urgently, "Luca, that's too much! Stop!"
Luca quickly did, falling onto his knees and gasping, "What. what happened?"
Kenji was paralyzed at the sight of Luca. "That was 50%?"
Luca, still not quite understanding asked Psyros, "How much power can I use? I don't feel any different."
Psyros said, "Still 40%."
Luca said, "40% as of now?"
Kenji simply couldn't believe his eyes as to the power Luca had just shown him and thought in his mind, "Was it more than 50%?" But instantly, he denied this in his mind, "There's no way; it's not possible. More than 50% out of the question."
Luca asked, "Are you okay, Kenji?"
Kenji replied, "I'm. I'm okay. Let's try that again."
Luca said, "Okay, let's try."
Luca closed his eyes once more and focussed on his sword. Psyros said, "Boy, stop trying to take all that's left in the sword. Try to take some of it."
Luca focussed on his sword once more and out of his body came a wave of energy, smaller and less powerful than before. He just stood there, feeling the difference. "I feel different. Psyros, how much can I use?"
Psyros said, "45%."
Kenji asked, "How much can you use?"
Luca replied, "45%. But it's incredible. Wow."
Kenji couldn't believe his ears. The first time, there was an insane amount of power, but the second time, it was different. He thought of something in his brain but kept quiet. Finally, Kenji said, "Good job Luca, now go on, there is nothing more that I can teach you. You just need experience. And remember what I told you, find people you can trust and head to the Fortune Teller's castle. Find him and ask him what you want to know, and then come back to me so we can finish this together."
Luca said with a determined face, "I will. Thank you for all. I'll be back soon."
As he flew, he said, "Goodbye."
Kenji waved to Luca. In his mind, doubts still lingered regarding what Luca really was and what kind of power he possessed.
