From the very beginning, as far as I remember, I thought I could achieve everything whatever I've wanted but as I grew up, life became dull, depression and anxiety, health issues and what not, every breathe I drew, it all seemed like a punishment of some sort and living a crappy life like this, one day at the age of 24, I died in a truck accident.
They say whenever people die, their souls are sent to hell or heaven based on their karma and when they complete their punishment or enjoyment the cycle of birth and death begin once again for eighty four lakh (8.4 million) reincarnations in the form almost every type of living organisms until they obtain the last birth in the form a human.
After what felt like a blackout, when I finally opened my eyes, I found myself in the long line of what seemed like a large office type place where people were telling their names and getting a slip from a clerk sitting in front of a computer and entering the gates of the rge gate of that office. I waited for my turn, and after what felt like a whole week and a half, it was finally my turn to get the slip. I told my name ".... ", then the clerk sitting in front of the computer looked at me and type my name to search in what looked like a large database of people's name list, she looked irritated at me and told me to place my fingers on a scanner to get my details but she couldn't get any, she rubbed my fingers on a cloth placed on her table and tried again but everytime she tried to scan my fingerprint, there was no information about me. She called the guard sitting behind her and told him to take me to someplace I didn't know where. I went with the guard walking behind him, the guard seemed like any other guard you'll find in a bank or a hospital gateway. We reached a place and he told me to wait there for sometime, I waited and after what felt like a whole day, some other person came outside the door and asked me what was I doing there, I told him the whole situation and he told me to come again next day. It was a dusky night and there was enough light to move around from one place to another without any problem. It was fine for me to stay here because I was already living here for more than a month and I was almost used to it.
The last one and a half month I spent here was standing in a line so it was my first time when I had some time to move around the place where I was now. This place is what seemed to know looks like an entrance to somewhere and as far as I can see there is a long line, where people are standing from different parts of the world of different worlds of different origins and different races and different species. The people standing in the line have lost their way of reasoning or anything, it's like they're just standing there without knowing why and moving forward waiting for their turns to get their slips to enter the gateway of the place in front of them. They don't look left, they don't look right, they don't look anywhere, just a bunch of lifeless bodies moving forward. I roamed around the place but found nothing useful, as far as I could see it was just a glowing place with only a front and no ending or horizon.
The day passed and brightness of light became a little more, I went back to the office where that guard took me last time and I sat in front of the entrance, I kept waiting for someone to come and get me because that was how I've lived my whole life in front of government offices, until I get fed up with waiting for someone, I just stay in front of the gates for a response so I was the same here. I saw people coming and leaving out of the building and not noticing me sitting there like I don't even exist. I waited and kept waiting until the day came to an end and then I got up and left from that place. Another day passed and now I was getting restless like how I always used to get so I after waiting for a whole of what felt like almost two hours because there's no watch in here so I don't know the exact time here, I got up and started walking front and back and kept walking sitting and standing and repeating the same thing, until I got tired and then I decided to enter and check inside the place where I was waiting for last more than two days.
I looked inside and saw a long line of different offices with their nameplates written outside their doors. I decided not to go inside and walked back to the place where people were standing in their lines waiting for their turns. I started walking in front of them, besides them, waving and them and trying to talk to them but they didn't notice me like they couldn't see me or like they were incapable of noticing anything what was going around them. I tried to touch one of the person's face who was standing in the line but I couldn't feel their touch like it was intangible or like a projector image unable to feel or touch. I tried to distort their presence by kicking, shadow boxing but nothing happened. I kept doing the same to almost everyone and I had now some sort of idea that these mirror images which I was thinking real people standing there are incapable of doing or noticing anything or even feel anything. I decided to move away from that place and walk around. I kept walking from the office building for a long time but I didn't reach it's end. After a long time, I got tired and sat their, I didn't know why I couldn't feel any hunger or thirst when for last almost two months I've eaten or consumed even a single drop of water or food. I stood up and started walking again but now instead of walking in a straight line, I started to explore the place like how I used to explore the area in the adventure or fantasy games I used to play.
I kept walking standing laying down and even sleeping on the floor for a long time and couldn't see the end but I was adamant to keep going because that's how I used to be. In my whole life, there was no rules I ever followed to the end, I did whatever I wanted to do, I followed whoever I felt like, I abandoned whatever I didn't like and that was my whole motto of life before I knew it, I did whatever I wanted to do and I did whatever I didn't even wanted to do. A life without limitations, a life without certainties, a life where I was holding the steering of the vehicle of my life, that's how I lived my whole life, it wasn't a happy one but it wasn't sad either, if I've to say how I lived my life, I would say I lived it without any restrictions even after living within restrictions.
I kept walking, moving on and now I was losing hope, I no more knew where was I walking, where I'm I trying to reach, who I really am and what the hell is this place. After what felt like a few years, I finally reached at an end point of this bright place where I could finally see a dark place devoid of light and I walked into it. I kept walking and there was only darkness and darkness, all I could see was nothing but darkness. I crossed the dark path which was like a borderline between the bright place and the other side and now I could finally see a place like an island surrounded by water from all the sides. I started swimming in it and crossed the waterway. It wasn't that deep enough, water was quite shallow that even if I walked through it, it could've been easily crossed without much effort. After I stepped on that very Island that was in front of me, it felt like I was finally back at my homeland. I lay down and hugged the soil and it felt warm. It was a familiar feeling, like I've been living here my whole life. It was a warm feeling. I rested for a while there and walked around the place. There were plants of various types here. I could see long trees, insects, butterflies, rabbits and a lot of other familiar species. As I walked through the place, I was now feeling hungry and a little bit thirsty. There was a freshwater lake near the place where I was walking. I guess it isn't unusual to have a lake on an island in the middle of nowhere. I picked up an old bark of a tree lying around the lake and filled it with water and sat near the large tree besides the lake. There were various types of plants of fruits there and now I was thinking about what to eat. I stand up and went to the same place from where I filled the water. There were various types of fishes in the water so I thought of catching one and eat them. I tried catching them with my bare hands, tried throwing a stone and crushing them under it but didn't work. In the end, I had to pluck some guavas from the nearby tree and gulp it with some water. After having a half decent meal, I slept under the tree for a while. I was rested enough. I got freshen up, took a bath in the river and filled my pockets with some freshly plucked guavas and started walking on the tracks of an almost fainted road. After walking for a while, I could hear some people chatting with each other, noises of animals and after looked down from the mountain I was standing on I could see an entire settlement of humans in front of me. I felt at peace and now I decided to enter the village. There were two guards standing on the entrance of the town. People were showing their IDs and entering the town after running a security check. Because I didn't had an id with me so I took my usual route of entering the place without a permit through the cracks of the town wall. I kept walking side by side with the town walk and I saw a crack in there. I entered the place through the small crack in the wall enough for a dog to pass through after a little bit of struggle. After entering the place, I saw some people with poor conditions living in a slum. There clothes were shabby and torn and they were looking dirty like they haven't bathed for a while. I tried not to pry much and kept walking the path leading outside of the place. After a while, I entered the marketplace. It was a busy place. People selling various items could be seen here. From clothing to utensils, there was everything that you could buy with some little amount of money. There was a big half statue of a human like it was fading away and below it was written the name of the town. The place is known as "Niradhar".The name directly represents the understanding of where I was right now. Niradhar the baseless town. This town is baseless means there is no reason for it's existence and neither was it meant to exist. It exists just because of it's own reasons and it can vanish without any reason. People in this place are the soles which were neither sent to hell not to heaven. They are sent to this place to remove them from their existence. This place is like a trash bin where the automatic deletion process is activated and everyone will vanish after a certain period of time on it's own. That's what I get to know from the brief description written below the damn statue.
The people here soon to be vanished souls but they live like how they used to live on their own planets in their own homes. People in this place haven't lost attachment to their homes. While these people were vanished systematically, I guess I'm an anomaly in here. Well I was feeling tired from travelling all the way in here so now I was tired. I went back to the outside of the town and after walking a long distance deep into the woods, I decided to sleep in there for a while.
I kept roaming around the place and collecting information about the place I was in. About a month passed and from what I've heard, these people were all sent here by some sort of God to be trashed here. All these souls were defective ones and were soon going to be eliminated along with the very existence of this place.
This place Niradhar ( one without foundation or the baseless one) was soon going to be refreshed and all the souls living here were going to be vanished from this world along with it's existence. They were living here like for a year now and every year a number of souls are trashed here until it's full and then they all are deleted from the system and this place is refreshed like a new hard drive completely empty.
I spent my time there living in the streets or on the outskirts of the town. Soon the day arrived and it was now time for this place to get crumbled. In the start, it felt like an earthquake and soon my vision became to get distorted and I became unconscious.
When I woke up, I found myself on a beach. I got up on my feet and looked around myself. It felt like daytime in front of me and there was an endless sea stretching as far as I could see. And behind me was a dark forest completely devoid of light polar opposite of the site on the front side. I sat down and started to think for the first time in a long while because I haven't used my brain to think for a long time now so it felt something new, like a new feeling or a new sense activating within my soul. I started to think what should I do now. After a long while, I decided to enter the deep forest and started going heading towards it. And before I knew, it felt like I was sleeping inside a blanket on a warm bed. It was so cozy that I didn't wanted to get up but because my sleep was complete so it's not like I was going to sleep again. I woke up and found myself inside a luxurious room. I got up and entered the bathroom and washed my face and looked up in the mirror. Now I could see my face.
Was I dreaming?
Or Am I Reincarnated?
I had somewhat memories of my previous life retained but because they weren't really clear all I felt it was like a premonition of some kind or I thought I was watching too much anime that now I'm thinking I'm some kind of reincarnation or something.
"Come on kid, you're breakfast is ready, hurry up"
I got dressed up in my school uniform after taking a bath and went downstairs.
"Thanks for the food"
I finished my meal, picked up my bag, and ran as fast as I could to school.
" Oh God! I'm late again today. I'm gonna get a real scolding this time from our homeroom teacher "
I entered the gate to our school. A lot of other students were also going in with me.
"Thank God! There's no teachers around. Let's make a run for it"
"Yeah"
After the morning prayer of our school, we entered our respective classrooms. I sat in the back of the class like I always do. Classes are usually boring and I got no interest in studying so I'm always staring out of the windows. Because I know if I'll study even for a few days I can do good enough to pass the exams.
"Anyways, let's continue drawing my sketches for the new novel that I'm writing right now"
That's what I always do in my class time when teachers are busy teaching stuff on the whiteboard. They don't really pay attention to what students are doing in the back unless someone really pisses them off so I don't really get anyone's attention and continue doing my work without any disturbances.
"That's it for the class, See you next time"
"Yes Ma'am"
Class ended and I put my sheets back in my bag. People hardly notice me because I don't really have any friends as of now.
"Hey AJ, do you play piano? "
"No, I don't "
"Ah! Alright! I thought you do because I've noticed a lot of times you moving your fingers on your desk like you're playing something"
"Oh, it's nothing"
"Ah! Alright! "
I actually don't play such stuff, it's only because I want to play but I don't have the budget to get one, so I just satisfy playing my desk instead, it seems kinda funny I guess.
Final bell rang. Everybody started to go home. I stepped out of the main gate. On my way, I'm always alone, walking along a lonely road with no house or shop in the sight.
Well as soon as I got out of school, I went to get a coke for myself to drink on my way home. I started exiting the market when suddenly I saw little girl walking into the road whose mother was busy talking on the phone and the little girl unnoticed got in front of a freight truck. I looked around and the only way I could see was to jump in front of the truck to protect her. In an instant, I jumped in front of the truck, pushed the little girl away from there but got myself caught up in that.
All my nerves felt like they were short circuited and I wasn't able to maintain my consciousness. Soon I lost my self awareness and my mind got shut down.
"Ah! What time it is?"
"Am I still sleeping or what? "
"Why does my head feels so heavy? "
"Oh God"
I got up on my feet and started to look around for my mirror. It felt so frustrating to look around but I opened my eyes and when I did, it was something off. I wasn't in my own home. I looked around and found only a wooden woven bed like in the early 90s or what when the technology wasn't that much developed and people still used to use old handmade beds.
I walked outside the door and found myself in a wooden and soil and stone based made hut.
I looked up to the sky and what I saw was something strange. There was no sun and there were two moons, blue and red.
"Am I dreaming? "
"Or am I reincarnated? "
