In the fold with the obsidian path the Alyanna and Sima were working closely with Rachel's soulmates.
There were four groups and they all had at least one of the soulmates. The fold was benign and it did not truly read to them much. Thus was normal for a fold. The danger was not truly in the fold itself. The danger in traveling through the folds came from how folds connected to each other and how folds had areas within them that were dangerous. The folds were gateways and security sectors within the dimension.
For them to actively engage travelers and actively breach dimensional walls was unheard of.
The obsidian path was insidious. It led them in vast ever changing circles. All of them could tell the exit was off the path, to its right, but the could not leave the path to approach it.
"There must be another way to approach this without leaving the path"
