They walked across a wide tunnel that extended from Deep Hollow to Waking light. When the realm created the new abyss continents it created elaborate tunnels connecting them.
A person could casually walk across them to the next continent, or enter them and instantly teleport to the abyss continent of their choice, to a continent above, or to a known point in the abyss. The person only needed to think of where they wanted to be and then telepathically ask the tunnel to teleport them to the desired location.
The seven continents of the abyss were already heavily populated. They were mostly populated by Fasarians but there were also different ethnicities venturing below for various reasons.
The abyss was a new source of resources and possible treasures. There were many seeking new fortunes and others seeking ancient knowledge and possible power.
For the Fasarians it was an opportunity to regain some autonomy. There realm was destroyed during a natural phenomenon. Most of the population was brought into Trannisa so their culture and language still thrived but they felt like outsiders among day-dwellers.
Many of them had ventured down into the Abyss but found it barren and uninhabitable. Now the Milana had created continents. Many wondered why the Milana was never asked to help them and others felt the Milana should have innately understood their needs.
They were all ecstatic to have the abyss continents.
The group currently in the tunnel consisted of the Mliana, the Antrunie, Anis, Mis, and Emil. They were all curious about the continents of the abyss and they all wanted to make sure that the people thrived and were safe.
The tunnel was made of a crystalline material that was transparent almost in the same way as a two way mirror was transparent. The person could see out but no one could see into the tunnel. But this material did not show the person's acrual reflection. The material reflected a moment in the person's fate.
The tunnels and the continents were all domed in this material because the abyss was still largely unexplored. The realm had placed the continents in the four locations known to the residents of the realm plus three that were unknown.
All were away from territories that were deemed dangerous. But this was one of the reasons why Rachel wanted to see all seven continents. One she needed to always be familiar with the continents of her realm and two she needed to know more about the abyss.
She felt the Milana had been remiss in not extensively exploring the abyss. Even she put more thought in the exploration of other realms making her just as at fault as the others.
The three continents in unknown areas were; Shatter Lake, Wither Mar, and Dark Peak. Rachel had already visited all of the seven new continents in her spirit body. She also made fate maps for each.
The fate maps were of no use. There were unexplainable gaps in each which told her that her fate was intertwined with each of the continents. This should seem natural to her because this is her home realm and she was its protector. But those maps were just superficial fate readings meaning her fate was deeply interwoven with them. So deeply that her fate was felt throughout the entire fabric of the continents' existences.
Knowing fate could cause a person to jump to conclusions and she was trying to be rational in her thinking.
"We have ten days to explore. Maybe we should test the teleportation features."
Rachel smiled. "We have a lifetime to explore Mis. You always get so excited when you discover something new."
Mis' eyes darted between his sisters and brothers but no one said anything.
"Let's begin in Shatter Lake." Rachel looked at Ambruce. "Please mark this location. There is something below I want to investigate later."
Anis, Mis, and Emil all looked down through the transparent floor as one.
Rebecca shook her head. "All of you need to be more aware of your surroundings."
Rachel and the Antrunie felt the mark as it resonated below them and all eight of them disappeared from the spot.
Shatter Lake was a dark continent, like the other abyss continents, but it had a spark of light green light at its center.
As soon as Emil's feet stepped onto the surface of the continent, and he became aware, his eyes widened as healing magics rushed towards him. Rachel allowed him to absorb some and then put a shield around him so that his soul well was not harmed.
Because the magic continued to try to reach him green sparks of light continually ignited around him.
The soft green light at the center of the continent was a well spring of the realm's inner healing magics. Because there was so much healing magic within the continent the plants and animals there were ideal nourishment and sometimes even remedies for ailments. They could also replenish healing magics, or give a boost to a person's healing magic.
When Rachel visited the new continents she saw that the three in unknown areas had magic springs like this. Wither Mar had a yellow magic spring and Dark Peak had a purple magic well. Rachel already decided to see these three continents first.
As healing magic welled inside her she gained insights to several of her healing magics. This told her the magic here was coming directly from the origin well.
Curious.
She cut herself off from healing magic and focused on the continent itself. It was rich in minerals and resources. The plants and animals here were larger and somehow different on a molecular level as if they had been made by some alternate process.
Then she allowed her perception to delve below the continent and what she saw and felt caused an elegant eyebrow to arch. The abyss had a bottom. In some places it seemed bottomless but it wasn't. Here under Wither Lake was one of those places.
When Rachel's perception reached the bottom she saw an amber adder nest. Amber adders were not dangerous. They were very rare creatures. They were a deep golden color and exuded healing and mental magics. They also made very good familiars due to their intelligence and capacity to increase their skill and magic levels.
Her eyes gleamed. She wanted one. She listened to the others talking and wondered if an amber adder could be an Antrunie.
She descended down to the nest. The darkness here was suffocating. She felt an awareness lock onto her. Then she felt someone wanting to speak to her via her soul well.
'We can speak this way.'
There was along pause. She did not want an unknown being entering her soul well.
'It is more difficult to speak this way... I have been waiting for you.'
'Waiting for me?'
'Yes. I have been waiting for you Milana Rachel. I am ready to leave. But I am a spirit familiar I can only travel with you in your soul well.'
There was a brief pause.
'My name is Jin. Talk to the realm and call me when you are ready.'
The presence disappeared before Rachel processed the information.
'A spirit familiar?' It had been eons since a Milana had a spirit familiar. They were far different from regular familiars. They could enhance a person's abilities, become soul weapons, or even fuel rituals or formations created.
She rarely felt excited these days, but the prospect excited her more than she wanted to admit. She would call Jin to her before she left the continent and after she spoke to Trannisa.
They moved to Wither Mar after exploring Shatter Lake for a day. Wither Mar's soul magics spring was actually a large island in the southern part of the continent.
Yellow soul magic shrouded the island like a dense fog. The entire continent was effected by the spring. The animals were spirit beings and they all drew deeply from the spring. The plants were also spirit based entities and they shimmered in the wind as if fluctuating between dimensions.
The continent was covered in many marshlands and swamps interspersed with lush islands full of trees and unique animals.
Dark Peak was by far the most interesting continent. The residents had begun building on high platforms above the surface of the continent.
The continent was covered in a dense sea of purple fate magic. The only land that could be seen was the peak of a mountain that was such a dark purple it looked black.
The buildings were made of dark rock and purple wood indigenous to the continent. Dark Peak was the only one of the three continents with people residing on it.
Below the sea of purple magic gate beings lived and thrived. Smral and Rachel explored below the magic. Smral returned with six enthralled fate beings. They all had deep purple skin and lilac hair. Their eyes were grey and seemed to exude a silky smoke.
There were three females and one male and they stood close to Rebecca.
"Does Rebecca need a guard?"
"Yes she does."
Ambruce became alert at the conversation. "Is someone threatening Rebecca!?"
"Do you see what you've done Rachel! Calm down Am. Rachel and Smral are only joking."
Ambruce narrowed her eyes as if she were trying to see the truth in the situation.
"Can we go to the next continent Rachel?"
Mis' excitement was palpable.
"Of course."
