Damien and Zephyr carried Raya and Liam through the woods, stopping when they reached the Twin Tree, the ancient landmark deep in the woods. The moment Damien set Raya down, she started swinging her fists, hitting him over and over.
"Let me go!" she yelled, as she struggled in his grip.
Damien tightened his grip. "Stop yelling, damn it."
But Raya wasn't having it. "Take me back! I swear if you don't—"
Damien's tone turned dark. "Keep yelling, and you'll end up dead instead of going back to your precious fucking search party."
His voice made her go silent and her breath came in shallow pants as she looked around. Nearby, Zephyr tossed the hooded figure to the ground, only for him to scramble back up, with his hand reaching out to touch Zephyr's shoulder. Zephyr noticed the hooded kid's fingertips glowing faintly.
