Chapter 15 - Spies

'Remember to feel the wind. It's one of the great energies of life the universe offers. Go with the flow and don't fight it. Cast away your fears, only then will you fly.' Revealed Skylark, knowing what Delvin was about to do.

Delvin accelerated his speed, the second he reached the peak, he jumped over the cliff for the second time.

At Lusaka Blue Hotel, Mister Parker walked into Jasmines' office. Jasmine got up right away as she saw Mister Parker come in, 'Good evening sir?' Jasmine greeted respectively.

Mister Parker smiled mischievously. He ignored her greeting, 'My princess, you work so hard. What is my responsibility then?'

Inquired Mister Parker. Jasmine hilariously laughed.

'To make sure that I do my work effectively,' she remarked. As she connected her eyes with him. She then went on, 'I want to become great like you.'

Mister Parker chuckled, 'Patience Jasmine. You first need enough rest. Try different things, like having fun with your friends, seeing other people. By the time you come back to work, you will have been refreshed. Only then will you be effective and make lasting changes.'

Jasmine discerned something from her father.

Where is all this coming from? She thought.

'Alright, father, I hear you, now just say it?'

Mister Parker cleared his throat, 'you could go out on a date?'

Jasmine now wanted to know her father's mind. He had never suggested such a thing before.

'Dad, where are you getting to with all this?'

Mister Parker is a straight forward person and speaks out his mind mostly. Jasmine is completely convinced that he is up to something.

'It's just free advice, from father to daughter.'

Jasmine is determined not to give up the fight. He started it, so he had to finish it.

'Dad?' Probed Jasmine with a serious face.

Mister Parker kept his composure and a smiley face.

'I am serious.' Mister Parker stood his ground.

Jasmine's frown deepened, and with an assertive tone, 'Daddy?'

Mister Parker relents, he has achieved his goal, 'Maybe you should consider going out with Delvin? He is quite a decent guy. Don't you think so?'

Mister Parker put forward, knowing that his daughter sometimes needed a little push.

Maybe this will make her relax, and experience a different kind of life other than her job. Thought mister Parker.

Jasmine blushed, then glared, trying to hide her feelings. She gazed at her father one more time before sitting back on her chair.

'Father, how would you know that? Secondly, you don't have the right to suggest who I should go on a date with?' Countered Jasmine.

Mister Parker sat on an opposite chair. He was observing every slight change in Jasmine's body language.

'I have lived long enough years to tell the character of a person. In the first five minutes, I interact with that being. I can read their vibration and energy. He is an interesting young man and the woman who finds him is going to be happy.' Mister Parker patiently elaborated. Jasmine wants to escape the trap.

'Father enough, or else I will tell mother that you were setting me up with an old man.' She menaced him.

Mister Parker glared, pretending not to have heard her threat, 'Don't take too long, or he will be snatched. Fine men these days are hard to come by and do get married very fast.'

'Father! Enough, stop getting into my personal business.' Jasmine creates a strong defense.

Mister Parker, broke out into hysterical laughter. 'See, why are you being so defensive? You have a thing for him? I heard that you went to buy things with him when you could have sent any of our drivers?'

Jasmine scowled, and then she looked at him in the eyes.

'Have you secretly planted spies to follow me around?' repulsed Jasmine.

Mister Parker leaned back in his chair, relaxed, he was definitely enjoying himself at this moment with a warm smile, 'Look, all I am saying is, before I let anyone work for me, I do a background check. I did my homework. Alright, you go home and get some rest. It's a command.' Instructed Mister Parker.

Jasmine's eyes grew wide, she did not want to discuss this topic further.

'Fine, and you need to get some rest too. I hope you did check up with your doctor?'

Mister James Parker got up, grinned at Jasmine thoughtfully, 'Sure, I just need to attend one more meeting, and I will call it a night.'

Inside Grandma Beatrice's house, Grandma Beatrice confronted George.

'Where are you coming from George? Have you been hanging out with that loser, Devin? Why do you like to spend time with that poor bastard?'

It's Grandma Beatrice. She has never spoken anything good about Delvin. Anyway, he was popular for that very notion.

'Grandma. It's Delvin, technically, I was not hanging out with him.'

George looked at Grandma Beatrice with a mischievous face, a grin building on his cheeks. Grandma Beatrice was not done reprimanding George, 'It's the same person who is teaching you bad manners. Your father denied you because of that same awful person. You need to grow up. I am getting old and one day I will die. Who is going to take care of you? You refused to get the proper education your father suggested and he was going to get you a job immediately after completing it. Look at how the world has become, and changed?'

George was calm, quiet, as if he was not listening. He must have heard these words a thousand times. Grandma Beatrice went on, 'And where is your sister? The two of you are driving me mad.'

Georges' skin grew tough from Grandma Beatrice's nagging.

'Grandma, I just came back from work.' Explained George.

She gazed at George inquisitively, 'What work?' Grandma Beatrice retorted.

This gave George enthusiasm. He beamed, 'I found something to do at Lusaka Blue Hotel, I just came back from there, I am very tired, and by the way, the loser you keep talking about just got a job at ZamCorp Base One two days ago.'

Grandma Beatrice made a puzzled face, 'What?'

Asked Grandma Beatrice in a horrified tone.
