'I perfectly understand sir.' Delvin, still wearing his composed and firm face, smiled, and assured him.
General Martin became intrigued, very curious about this newbie. He didn't know what to think of him.
This young man is indeed incredibly strange. Is he stupid or what? If a child cries for a bone, give it to him. The thought of what was about to unfold amused General Martins, creating a light chuckle in the process.
'Send him upstairs.' General Martins ordered.
People in this era left some room for new ideas, for it was knowledge which was the greatest strength and power. Therefore, Zoom Multi Corporation Base One thrived, not particularly because of force but in view of the fact that under it lay the great minds and experts, for they were not that judgmental, nor did they portray any stigma. Besides, these were educated beings who valued knowledge above all things.
Two minutes later, Delvin was standing on the ninth floor in front of the door to the inventors and innovators department. His heart thumping fast, he constantly tried to calm himself, as he waited patiently.
'Take it easy bro, you will do great!' Zauzo spoke in his mind.
Thanks for the support. Today you have good vibes. Delvin commented.
'I know that what is important to you, is equally important to me,' Zauzo explained.
Smart huh! So, why do you play dumb? Delvin asked curiously.
Before Zauzo could respond, the doors opened in a butterfly formation, and General Martins stood in front of him.
'Come in, Mister Dred?' General Martins gestured with his right hand as he showed him the way in. Delvin smiled broadly, and his white teeth were clearly visible.
'Thank you sir.' Delvin said, and then walked in majestically as General Martins turned to join him.
Delvin was shocked to see all the different people who were working on different things. This exhilarated him, dispatching out all his fears and anxiety, making him feel more at ease and at home. He did look from right to left as he walked, emulating General Martins' moves. There were those who worked on computers, holograms, drones, robots, gear suits, and many others worked with test tubes, and different apparatus gear. Each individual had their own personal workspace, they were all immersed in their work such that Delvin's presence was not noticed, it's like he never existed at all to them.
Delvin was given a chair and General Martins called three other staff to listen to Delvin's idea.
'Please Mister Dred, could you give an overview of your idea? My colleagues and I will listen and judge if it's worth putting in our resources.' General Martins requested Delvin to give a brief statement on his idea.
'Thank you so much, General, for this opportunity to share my idea with you. I have been thinking of how we can introduce a suit that could make a human being run at the speed of light. This suit would give the human race an advantage in the case of fighting a fast opponent or, if possible, give the human being the ability to dodge a bullet or missile.' Delvin started articulating, with no fear, he was full of confidence and vigor.
At Lusaka Blue Hotel, Mister Parker stood with Mister Ben Devis, 'In Samfya Blue Hotel in the north we have a number of challenges with electricity. Do you have Delvin's number?' Mister Parker inquired inquisitively.
Mister Ben Devis was a bit conflicted, 'I am sorry sir, I don't.'
'I really need his number.' Mister Parker expressed its importance with his face.
'Have you tried to ask Jasmine?' Mister Ben Devis gave an insightful idea.
'Oh! Right, let me call her.' Mister Parker shook as if he was fast asleep and the light bulb inside him went on.
Why didn't I think of her earlier on? He reprimanded himself.
Of course, Jasmine did not have the number. She herself was waiting for Delvin's call.
After getting off from work, Delvin was quite tired. It had been a stressful day, as it is usually on the first day of work, you need to get updated with the new system of work. In the case of Delvin, it was to sell his idea to inventors and innovators. He sat leisurely on his one and only chair. He had arranged in advance to call Jasmine and ask her on a date. The call went through.
A smooth, sweet, charming, voice erupted from the phone, 'Hello, this is Jasmine Parker speaking. How can I help you?'
Delvin's heart almost melted. He felt chills running all over his body, uncontrollably excitement stirred up within. He did not know what to do next. He was momentarily taken by the beautiful voice, it was ecstatic, enchanting and seductive at the same time. He remembered the first day he heard it, in Lusaka Blue Hotel, room fourteen, about twenty-two o'clock p m. He cleared his throat, swallowed the heavy thick saliva, coughed lightly, as he did that, he had covered the phone's speaker.
'Hello Jasmine, this is Delvin Dred.'
He finally spoke, though fear crept into his heart.
Jasmine took some few seconds to digest this new development, she had waited for this call like a thousand ages, breathed in and out gently, her whole body exhilarating with excitement. She tried her best to hold off her emotions, to stay composed.
'Oh, how are you?' Jasmine expressed surprise but greeted him enthusiastically.
Delvin's smile broadened when he heard her warm response.
He thought it was going to be hard. She actually just paved the way for him, 'I am well, and you?' Delvin replied warmly.
Jasmine's elation grew faster than she could hold, and it was plainly audible in her pitch.
'I have been fine.'
Jasmine wanted to tell him all her heart, how she had missed him, and waited for this very call. But the words could not come out.
As for Delvin, it was this very moment he had been waiting for, all along, to state his intention for the call. He swallowed his grease saliva, 'How is your schedule this weekend afternoon?'
Jasmine now knew where this was going. In her mind a question was posed.
What took you so long?
'Its flexible, what did you have in mind?' Jasmine answered and asked her own.
Amazing how the conversation was trending, Delvin noticed.
'There is this new place I recently discovered. Would you like to come with me to check it out?' Delvin hit her on the nail.
'What is the name of the place?' Jasmine inquired, showing a little bit of curiosity.
'Shalom Garden Park.' Delvin answered joyfully, but eager to know what she thought.
'I never heard of it, but it sounds interesting.' Jasmine commented, then smiled, knowing quite well where this was going.
'I will come and pick you up on Saturday, two thirty p m.' Delvin jumped to the main point and waited in anticipation for her reply.
Jasmine delayed her response, pausing like she was thinking about it, while at the back of her mind was engraved the word yes.
'Oh, OK?' Uttered Jasmine, leaving Delvin in suspense as if she was having second thoughts.
'It's a date then. I have to go. See you on Saturday.'
Delvin immediately cut the call, without giving Jasmine a chance to say another word. He did not want Jasmine to change her mind.
'Yes I did it, I just made the first move, and it was successful.' Delvin exclaimed in joy the moment the call ended.
He jumped up and down and danced in celebration of his first victory. On the other hand, Jasmine held her mouth, 'he just asked me out? Wow! I can't wait to share this news with Courtney.'
Her face beamed with light. She danced with overwhelming joy in her heart.
Meanwhile, in the Milky Way Galaxy, visible asteroid, comets, and billions of stars shining bright, a mixture of gases having a blue, white, red spectrum of beautiful colors were seen, and five thousand space machines flew, commonly called airships. In the midst of it all was the biggest. An indescribable huge monster, its structure like that of a blue whale, but ten times the blue whale. It's the mother ship: inside sat the ruthless death breeder, the mighty King Agaganeeyaa, surrounded by his trusted subordinates, a special force of unmerciful killers, trained for just one purpose, that was to take a life, and next to the King, the undefeated most loyal soldier, Cantaniaa the right-hand to the King.
The Mighty Agaganeeyaa turned his head to face Cantaniaa, with a dim smile, his gold teeth revealing their toxic shining edges. You could see them if you looked at him right now, it would look like he was upset or frowning. A rough, vulgar, hoarse tone came out of his hundreds-of, scarred mouth, 'Cantaniaa, how long do we have to travel before we reach planet Earth?'
