The two grew up together, they have a close relationship and are of the same age group.
'I am fine Jasmine. I have missed you, my darling.'
Jasmine was excited prior to listening to her cousin's voice. It brought old memories.
'I miss you more.'
Courtney noticed Jasmine's strange excitement in her voice. She is one of those intelligent beings.
'What's up Jasmine? I can feel your vibe over the phone.'
Jasmine originally wanted to prolong the conversation, and tried not to rush into spilling out the beans.
'What do you mean?'
Jasmine asked, pretending not to understand what was happening in a surprised tone, but she knew Courtney was onto something. Courtney could now smell something fishy.
'You are so lively and have not complained about work or the silly people you meet. There is so much excitement in your voice. Spill it out?' Confronted Courtney.
Jasmine thought, could I really hide anything from this girl? There is no point in keeping her in suspense now.
'Well, hum, I met the most gorgeous man on planet earth.'
Jasmine paused to see if Courtney was following.
'Where did you meet him?'
Jasmine had her confirmation.
'At Lusaka Blue Hotel, he is an electrician.'
Courtney shook her head, What's wrong with Jasmine? Could it be global warming disturbing her mind? Courtney thought.
'Don't tell me that you are that desperate? Steeping that low, an electrician really? I know that the planet is deteriorating day after day. You don't need to be that disheartened, that is degrading yourself?'
Jasmine was cool, with Courtney's concern, she knew she meant well. She cared for her like no one else, so, she waited patiently for her to finish her lecture.
'Listen Courtney, he is an electrical and electronics engineer. He studied at Apex university and has been accepted at ZamCorp Base One, but that is not the point and there is nothing wrong with one being an electrician.' Jasmine corrected her cousin.
Courtney's mind was captured by the words ZamCorp Base One. It controlled almost everything, so, there was no one who didn't know about it.
'Someone from ZamCorp Base One what is he doing at Lusaka Blue Hotel?'
Jasmine was now controlling the ship. She remarked, 'He is a down-to-earth person, so calm and well-behaved. I had chills and goose bumps all over my body when we went to buy some electrical components with him.'
Courtney was now on the same page as Jasmine, curious, eagerness building up pretty fast.
'You have my attention, go on?' Urged Courtney.
Jasmine made a comment that described Courtney's character.
'If it were you? You could have made your intentions clear there and then. Anyway, two ladies gossiped that we were the perfect couple and a match made in heaven. Another couple as we came out of the hardware store commented that our chemistry is special and reminded them of the days when they were young. They relived that moment because of our mutual connection.'
Courtney felt a bit of enviousness triggered in her automatically. As she concentrated on Jasmine's story, a certain part of her wished she was the one on that boat.
'Lastly, he just saved us from the five armed robbers with guns. At that thrilling moment, I felt like I was watching an action movie.'
'Come on Jazz,I am not a kid? Do you think I would believe your lame story?'
Courtney clearly expressed disapproval.
'Everything I said is all true, cousin!'
Jasmine stood firm on her point.
'Wow! You have found yourself a superhero!--- Alright darling, I hear you, but I will have to see him first before I can approve your love relationship stuff. You are a queen and a goddess among men. Therefore, you deserve a king and a God.' Courtney brought out her heart's desire.
Jasmine was chuffed. The only way to take off her mind from Delvin was to change the topic.
'Alright, miss Courtney, now, what's new with you?'
Courtney was caught unaware. She wasn't expecting a change of the subject so sudden, her imagination was of the perfect, charming, heroic guy her cousin shared with her earlier.
'Daniel finally asked me out.'
Her voice had a mixture of feelings and with low esteem. Jasmine was in the lead. Keen to know, 'And?'
Courtney's esteem went further low, she was not as intelligent and confident as she was before.
'I turned him down.'
Jasmine's energy level drastically dropped, amazed at her cousin's response. She thought her cousin did like Daniel.
'What? Why would you do that?'
Courtney had to be honest about how she felt. Daniel was cute, but she did not see a future in him.
'I am not captivated or sure about him. I want something magical.'
She indeed desired something unique, different, peculiar and extraordinary, something worth dying for. Jasmine perceived life as it was currently.
'Courtney, you know the state of the earth now. You might die single?'
Courtney was silent for quite a while. There is a huge shift in Jasmine, showing a new side of her. She guessed maybe it was a transition moment, 'Jasmine, from your words, your gorgeous man you met gave you goose bumps. I don't feel any of that with Daniel?'
Jasmine's heart was touched. 'Courtney, he is not my man yet, anyway it was good talking to you babe. I have to go.'
'Thank you for the call, Jazz, I love you.' Courtney shouted joyfully.
'I love you more.' Responded Jasmine, she could feel Courtney's vibe twisting into bliss once more. The call was dropped. Jasmine smiled, and her spirit was lifted. She leaned back in her office chair, and exhaled deeply.
On the other hand, Courtney sighed. Touched her chin. It's strange Jasmine falling for someone. He must be out of this sphere. I would like to meet the guy and watch the drama unfold in front of me. Maybe it's her set time? Courtney brushed off the thoughts and went her way doing her day to day usual business.
Delvin found himself in Death Driven Valley. It was about twenty thousand kilometers from Pragatoscal township. No people come to this place, especially at night. As the name suggests, everything looked very dead, with no life. It took him twenty-five minutes, as he had to run at high speed. As he entered the valley he observed every detail while walking in the valley. Bones and skeleton heads could be seen lying on the ground. There was no sign of any living thing.
This place is perfect for my practices because no one should know about this power. I might look bizarre around other people. 'Skylark?'
The system activated.
Right at that moment Delvin heard a strong roar hit his eardrums from behind him. His knees instantly weakened as he froze on the spot.
