It was a usual Monday evening in a town named Gatsby in the country of Bellsworth when suddenly a boy rushes out from the entrance of the Church screaming in a rather pitch voice.
A random passerby caught the boy and asked "What's up lad? Why the scream? Saw anything?".
The young boy couldn't form a word. He was staring into the eyes of the stranger and saying "No I didn't- Please I didn't-".
The man, confused, shook the child and asked yet again "What are you talking about kid? What didn't you do?".
"I didn't kill him" the boy shouted and then fell unconscious.
The man, with a worry on his face rushed to the church where he saw the priest of the church crucified on a cross with blood spilling all over the floor and his mouth sewed.
The man stares in shock as a number of crowd gets collected outside the Church.
Police arrive that night and start investigating the crime scene.
From the crowd, a young man in black and a hat emerges and looks thoroughly.
"Sir, I humbly advice you not to step beyond the entrance of this church", a policeman speaks.
"Oh no, I'm a detective", the man replies.
"Well can I see your PI license then?"
"I don't have one"
"Well then you're not a detective. How long has it been since you started doing this detective thing?"
"Just right now when I saw the crime scene"
"You must be joking right?"
"I only joke on Tuesdays"
"What the hell does that even mean?"
"Forget it. But the little kid is not the killer, I can tell you that"
"How the hell are you so sure?"
"The kid doesn't have a trace of blood in his body anywhere, the kid is not tall enough even as to climb up the chairs and crucify the guy"
"But there's no window in this church. And only the boy had left the church from the door and there was nobody else exiting"
"You missed one point officer, look at the cross"
The officer gazes at the cross and finds something astonishing which opens his mouth wide.
"How did noone notice this? How did noone notice the mark of a rope in the victim's body? The person must've escaped by the ceiling then", the cop says.
"It's not one person, there were two of them"
*there's a bell heard somewhere in the distance*
"How are you so sure again?"
"The ceiling ventilation isn't wide enough to fit a stair through it but it can fit a person, the glasses are too weak for a hook to hold it so there must've been someone pulling the murderer from above"
"How do you know all this? Who even are you?"
"There are smart killers in this world officer.. and I don't think these guys are one of them or should I say, you guys are not one of them"
"Are you calling me, a police officer, a murderer? You're not even a real detective"
"But are you a real cop?"
"Well of course I am, how dare you doubt me?"
The cop now has nervousness in his voice but he still seems to be defending himself.
"You believed the fake evidences I presented when I haven't even entered the church yet, you did a good job on setting up the ventilation theory, but you never checked if the ventilation leads to outside of the church. You killed the priest in a police outfit and called the other cop who was your friend"
"Well that doesn't prove anything?", the cop's nervousness increases.
"That doesn't. But I have one last information that might"
"What?...."
"You see, Mister Whoever Shall Know Your Name, you might not be a cop... But I am one"
The fake officer breaks down the instant he hears this.
"I thought everything was perfect, how did I get outplayed by this guy?"
In a while, actual policemen come and arrest the two criminals.
While leaving, the man shouts "Why the hell did you lie then?"
"Oh I didn't lie about the detective thing"
"But you said you were a cop"
"Check the time idiot"
The clock had hit 12:15.
