Ramsey
The confession hung in the air as she stared at me. I felt as if a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Almost when I thought she wasn't going to respond, she scoffed.
"Love? You? The same man who rejected me countless times. The same Ramsey who pushed me away, who made me feel like I was nothing? Do you even know what you're talking about?'
My face tightened. "You don't understand," I began but she cut me off.
"I have all the time, please enlighten me," she demanded. "What exactly do I not understand? How you've treated me? How you've made me feel?"
My hands clenched and unclenched at my sides as I tried to stifle my emotions.
"Everything I did back then was to protect you,"
She laughed, "Protect me? From what? From myself? From your own feelings? From our mate bond?"
