They whispered among themselves in the darkness and decided to press their backs together so that they could ensure a coordinated defense against any intruders.
With their guns raised, the soldiers moved slowly and cautiously towards each other.
Just as they finally felt their shoulders press against one another, a hard, rounded object pressed against the back of one of the soldiers' waists.
He was momentarily stunned and turned around, only to be struck with an elbow to the face and knocked to the ground!
The other soldiers quickly raised their guns in the direction of the attack, only to realize that their assailant was one of their own comrades, who had been pressed back against them.
The attacking soldier stood among them, holding a gleaming silver flashlight.
The flashlight spun between his fingers like a fragment of rotating mercury glass, casting a bright beam of light.
The soldiers were momentarily blinded by the intense light, and in the next second, the soldier had vanished!
What followed was a series of attacks from behind—knee strikes and elbow jabs.
In just a few seconds, three of them had been attacked.
Their guns had barely been aimed at the enemy before they were destroyed by a miniature electromagnetic disarming device.
One soldier, quick to react, dodged a side kick from his attacker and, clutching his gun, rolled over and aimed forward.
However, in the darkness, the silhouette of the soldier blended with everyone else, making it impossible to aim accurately.
Frustrated, he bit his lip and, with adrenaline surging, decided to simply press the trigger and begin indiscriminate shooting into the area ahead!
Purple light erupted—
The energy shield acted like a vast, curved net, blocking all incoming bullets.
The bullets hit the shield's defensive cover as if they were striking heavy bulletproof glass, scattering in all directions.
Soren, with his left hand activating the energy shield, looked up at the ruling army soldier on the other side of the shield.
The soldier, stunned, lowered his gun slightly and instinctively took a half-step back.
...Reflected in the red visor of his helmet was a blinding white light, burning like magnesium in oxygen.
Inside the cell, Kong Kenan, dressed in a white-gray restraint suit, listened quietly to the sounds from above.
With the power cut, the frequency emitters on the cell walls designed to suppress his strength had stopped functioning.
He could feel his power returning, every muscle twitching as if a warrior about to enter the arena.
But it wasn't enough.
His abilities, replicated from Superman, were similar to Superman's.
His "aura" also required exposure to yellow sunlight to fully restore his original strength.
The black-haired youth calmly raised his head, looking at the only window directly above him.
This light-transmitting window was set into the ceiling directly above him.
Kong Kenan waited quietly for the noise above to subside.
As all sounds gradually faded, he gazed at the window and saw a pale face illuminated by the flashlight beam coming from above.
—It was a boy with black hair and blue eyes, his expression relaxed and his gaze keen.
Kong Kenan was somewhat surprised.
He hadn't expected the Avengers to send someone so young to rescue him, even younger than himself—what were the Avengers thinking?
Was one Spider-Man not enough, so they sent another 'child laborer'?
The boy—who was actually Soren—waved at him, signaling him to move aside, and then drew a sword from behind him.
Kong Kenan stepped back, pressed against the wall, and looked up at Soren with a scrutinizing gaze.
Soren held the sword with both hands, raised it in front of him, and brought the Excalibur down directly toward the glass.
As the sword's tip touched the glass, it was like a stone dropping into a lake from a height, causing concentric ripples of cracks to spread across the entire pane.
The glass shattered with a loud crash, breaking into white, snow-like fragments that fell to the bottom of the cell with a clatter!
Kong Kenan quickly pressed his back against the wall.
The glass shards scattered all around him, but fortunately, he wasn't injured by the fragments.
Once the snowfall of shards ceased, he moved to the center of the cell and caught the rope that was hanging down from above.
Soren pulled Kong Kenan up to the surface.
"We need to leave quickly. The main forces in the F sector will soon discover what's happened here."
"Thank you," Kong Kenan said, taking Soren's hand.
Soren then provided Kong Kenan with a set of ruling army uniforms, and the two put on helmets and ran out of the prison.
He led Kong Kenan along the route he had taken to enter.
The Crab Shell Prison was built underground on the island, with a small section directly connected to the seabed.
They had entered the prison through a seawater conduit and now swam out of it with Kong Kenan.
Outside the conduit was a vibrant expanse of coral reefs, with yellow, orange, red, and purple corals resembling displayed jewels, spread over the delicate white sand of the seabed, with small fish such as gobies and guppies darting among them.
Tropical fish of various bright colors, including angel fish, swam like they had stumbled into a picturesque underwater paradise.
Soren swam ahead, leading Kong Kenan back along the same route, searching for a suitable shallow beach to land on.
However, just as they emerged from the water, he saw several figures of Regime army soldiers on the high cliffs.
"Don't expose yourself!" he shouted to Kocknan.
—but it was too late.
The Regime army soldiers spotted them immediately and quickly aimed their guns, starting to shoot towards the water's surface.
Soren, constrained by the underwater environment, couldn't deploy his beam shield in time.
The bullets rained down like a storm, creating thousands of white splashes on the shimmering sea surface.
One of the bullets struck Soren's shoulder, piercing through his right shoulder blade.
He winced in pain, clutching his shoulder, with dark red blood seeping through his fingers and dispersing into the water.
