Chapter 2 - From Heroes to Kittens

Soren grabbed immediately two children who were running too slowly and rolled out of the way, tumbling into the yellow sand.

"Soren!" Red Hood dodged the falling rocks and rolled to the side.

He then got up and grabbed onto one of Soren's wings and said: "Take me up there with you!"

Soren's wing got pulled, but thankfully the two kids he was holding were safe.

He released them and jabbed his teammate in the side with his staff, "Let go of me! If you go up there, that maniac will roast you with his heat vision!"

He glanced upward.

The air was now filled with dust and sand, swirling wildly in the wind.

The yellow sand whipped up into the air as Spider-Man, who had claimed he could hold down Homelander, was sent flying by another punch from him…

Oh no…

Even though Homelander wasn't as powerful as he boasted, he was still giving them a serious headache.

And on top of that, this knockoff Superman had no regard for innocent people.

This fake hero was nothing but a full-on sociopathic maniac!

Superman. Always Superman.

"Why is it that Superman never shows up at times like this? Is being the leader of the Justice League really that busy?" Soren muttered to himself.

It takes magic to fight magic, and only the real one can take down the knockoff!

"What the—" Red Hood heard Soren's strange complaints loud and clear and was about to mock him when suddenly, a sonic boom roared above them.

The deafening sound of the Batwing's engine sliced through the air as the jet flew in from the Watchtower's portal, its thunderous hum shaking everyone's eardrums.

The Dark Knight, clad in his black bat-suit, jumped down from the plane, landing right behind Soren.

"He's not coming." Batman's voice was low and hoarse, filled with an undercurrent of anger, as if it came from the depths of hell.

His black cape spread out, silently and heavily covering the tear in Soren's uniform, where a piece of rubble had ripped it during the battle.

"There will never be another Superman in this world."

The Dark Knight whispered into his ear.

...

Soren's head throbbed painfully.

His whole body ached.

Even his claws hurt...

Wait, claws?

His claws?

Soren jolted awake.

Since when did he have claws?

He opened his eyes in the darkness, and soft silver moonlight gently filled his vision.

What he saw was a night scene.

Tall blades of grass swayed lightly in the breeze, rustling... above his head?

Did he land on some giant planet?

Why were the grass blades so tall?

The last thing he remembered was when he piloting a space jet, heading into a wormhole, and activating the gravity field generator to shut down the passage for the Zerg mothership.

But when he regained consciousness, he found himself in this bizarre situation.

The faint glow from the cosmic dust explosion at the wormhole's collapse still lingered on his retinas, but now, what was clearer was the distant night sky above him.

The stars twinkled, and the full moon shone brightly.

In his homeland, New Earth, there was no moon in the night sky.

Instead, a brilliant and dazzling Milky Way stretched across half of the sky.

A few artificial satellites dotted the edges of that galaxy, but unlike the moon's calm and deep glow, the satellites orbiting near the planet were bright but lacked that peaceful light.

Soren stared blankly at the dense "forest of grass" that was surrounding him.

Just as he was about to look around, he suddenly felt a faint tremor in the ground.

He stopped moving instantly.

His instincts that has been sharpened by years of combat on the space front lines, told him that something huge and dangerous was approaching.

Rumble...

When the massive creature—towering like a mountain—appeared over Soren, he froze.

At first, he thought he'd landed on a giant planet.

But when he looked up more closely, this creature looked suspiciously like...

A boar!!!

Not just "like" a boar—it was a boar!

Soren was stunned.

Where did such a gigantic boar come from?!

The creature was covered in thick bristles, and its head looked inflated, like it had been blown up.

Its round snout huffed out foul-smelling breaths from its two huge nostrils, sending Soren's fur standing on end.

Wait... fur?

Soren blinked in shock and looked down to see two white paws planted on the ground—his paws.

How did he turn into this?!

Shocked again, Soren instinctively crouched into a pouncing position, his furry paws stretched out—

"Meow!"

Soren heard a sound coming from his own body, a sound he somehow recognized.

He stared at the massive boar in front of him with disbelief expression on his face.

Then, just to test it, he tried again: "Meow!"

"Meow meow meow—?"

Once again.

"Meow meow meow meow—???"

Soren still couldn't believe it.

For some mysterious reason, he had turned into a little kitten!

As he was busy meowing in confusion, he suddenly heard a soft, childish voice.

"Bad boar, don't bully little kitty!"

The boy's voice was clear and strong, cutting through the tall grass, almost startling Soren again.

Startled and unsure, Soren peered through the gaps in the grass and saw a four or five-year-old boy with black hair and blue eyes running towards him like a little cannonball—then the boy reached out with his chubby fist and punched the giant boar, sending it flying!

!!!

Soren: *shock and disbelief*

Where was this place?

Why was he become a kitten?

How could this child punch a boar into the sky?

What had happened when he entered the wormhole to destroy the Zerg mothership?

So many questions rushed through Soren's mind, but he cautiously took a few steps back and hid in the tall grass, watching the strange boy with only his eyes peeking out.

If this kid could casually punch a boar, wouldn't it be even easier for him to punt a little kitten like him?

That thought made him feel—and look—exactly like a scared kitten.
