11 PM.

Matt was changing into his special battle suit in the apartment. This was a red tight-fitting outfit with leather holsters on the thighs for mounting two sticks. The horns on the head appeared decorative, but actually contained antennas for receiving radio waves. His weapon of choice: the Billy Club.

This weapon had been with him for a long time. With ingenious weapons and superb skills, Matt maintained his elegance and grace while moving through hordes of enemies. The cane, seemingly simple, could separate into two parts with different functions. The handle contained a controllable spring device, transforming from an ordinary cane column to a smooth short stick. The bottom held a cable that could launch and retract, with steel claws at the front end for grasping enemies or fixing positions. This device allowed Matt to navigate New York City's skyscrapers. The top of the stick could bend, aiding in catching or rescuing people, while the lower part, made of high-tensile wood, balanced hardness and toughness for perfect throwing.

Just as Matt was changing, the door suddenly opened. His good friend, Fudge Nelson, walked in, holding fried chicken, a hamburger, and a large glass of ice cola.

"Oh, Matt, it looks like you're going out on a date again tonight," Fudge teased, seeing Matt in his red combat uniform.

"Eat less of these foods. Look how fat you've become," Matt frowned, eyeing the high-calorie meal Fudge was holding.

"You know, this is what I live for. Only hamburgers and Coke bring me happiness," Fudge shrugged indifferently.

Matt shook his head. "I do have a date tonight, so I might be back quite late. You don't have to wait for me."

He swung his short stick, launching the highly resilient cable that grabbed the rooftop railing of a nearby building. Matt jumped out the window.

During the day, he had helped Kikyo rent an apartment and reminded her that his friend, Daredevil, would visit her that night. He was curious about the witch who had appeared in Hell's Kitchen and needed to ensure the Emperor Foundation wasn't an evil organization. Hell's Kitchen was already chaotic; it couldn't afford more trouble.

Five minutes later, Matt arrived at Kikyo's apartment building. Feeling the closed windows and the dark room, a heavy feeling flashed through his heart. Why was the room so quiet without the lights on? Had the witch already gone out?

He opened the window, entered, and turned on the bedroom lights, startling Kikyo, who was sitting on the bed holding a bow.

"So, you are at home. Why don't you turn on the light?" Matt asked.

"There are no candles," Kikyo explained, curiously looking up at the ceiling lights.

Matt was stunned. "What candle?" He realized the witch might lack basic modern knowledge.

"You don't seem very curious about me," Matt felt strange as Kikyo seemed more interested in the light above her head.

After a long silence, Kikyo spoke. "Mr. Matt, we just met this afternoon. Why did you come to see me wearing such strange clothes?"

"Strange?" Matt was confused. He thought his battle suit was cool.

"Also, how do you know I'm Matt?"

"The aura is the same," Kikyo explained, using words Matt could understand. "Is it custom here to wear strange clothes when going out at night? And why do you have two horns on your clothes?"

"That's not a horn. It's an antenna used to receive radio waves, allowing my ears to hear sounds from farther away," Matt explained.

"Oh!" Kikyo nodded, "It seems similar to my dead soul worm."

A dead soul worm about three or four meters long floated in from the window. "Yours are better. You don't need to hide them during the day," Kikyo commented, finding it convenient to hear from afar with horns on the head, despite them being unsightly.

Matt's attention was on the strange dead soul worm. He had noticed these creatures floating around Kikyo during the day, but now realized she had the power to hide them.

He wanted to ask about Kikyo but was hesitant. She seemed pure and isolated from the world, not evil. After struggling internally, Matt finally asked, "Ms. Kikyo, what is this dead soul bug? And who are you? Why do you feel more like a... dead person?!"
