Mrs. Kaida's anxiety grew as she hadn't heard from the principal, who had promised to call as soon as her son arrived at school. She quickly grabbed her phone and dialed the principal's number, but after a few rings, the call dropped. Her attempts to reach the driver were met with the same result.
"Mom, I'm sure Kae is doing great," her son, Kaida Ed, tried to reassure her, attributing the issue to the severe storm in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Kaida turned on the TV, and the news anchor's words filled the room: "The stormy weather in Los Angeles has caused widespread disruptions, affecting buildings, roads, and prompting government officials to consider shutting down schools and local parks until further notice."
Kaida Ed's words echoed in her mind: "See, I told you, he would be fine." She forced a smile, trying to conceal her concerns, and continued arranging books on the shelves of her store.
Meanwhile, at Beverly Hills School, the driver arrived with Reed, who had fallen asleep during the journey. The driver notified the principal, who arrived with two students to assist with Reed's belongings.
The next morning, the storm had subsided, and the principal received a call from Mrs. Kaida, inquiring about her son's well-being and safe arrival.
Reed woke up to the sounds of his new classmates and soon discovered he was in the boys' hostel. Two boys approached him, "Don't worry, we know where your stuff is." As they walked, Reed marveled at the school's vastness.
In the dining room, Reed struggled to find his designated seat until the principal introduced him, and a customized chair was brought in. The principal outlined the school's rules and regulations, and teachers from various departments introduced themselves.
After breakfast, Reed became lost in the crowd, unsure of his classroom. "Are you lost?" a gentle voice asked. Reed turned to face Kairos Thompson, also known as Kai.
Kai, a fellow new student, had been admitted to Beverly Hills School at his father's insistence. His father, Mr. Thompson, a multi-millionaire and CEO of Thompson's Industries, had paid his way into the school.
Together, Reed and Kai navigated their first day, forging an unlikely bond.
