When Alastor regained consciousness, he found himself back in the familiar, honeycombed tunnels of the Stingwing hive. His mind had returned to his body. Instinct took over, and he immediately adopted a defensive stance. He scanned his surroundings, but there was no immediate threat. He was definitely still inside the hive, still nestled within the Abyssal Seed, but the Stingwings themselves were gone. No buzzing, no clicking, no sign of their presence except for the remnants of their honey-like secretions clinging to the walls.
Before he could even begin to understand what had happened, a flurry of system notifications bombarded his vision.
