Alastor rushed to Molly's aid, his twin daggers flashing. He hacked at the thick tree root that bound her, finally severing its hold. Molly seemed to be recovering from the tree's mental attack, but she still looked shaken.
Alastor lifted her gently and carried her back to the spot where he'd left her earlier.
"Stay here, I'll check on Craig," he instructed. Without waiting for a reply, he sped off, returning moments later with Craig's limp body. Blood flowed freely from a wound in Craig's chest where a root had impaled him. Miraculously, despite the horrific injury, Craig clung to life.
Alastor stared at the wound, a puzzled expression on his face.
"He has Dextrocardia situs inversus totalis," Molly explained, noticing his confusion.
"He has what now?" Alastor asked, bewildered.
