World Building (Part 2): General Information

EMBERVEIL COLLECTIVE

The Emberveil Collective is an underground rebellion group originating from the shadows of the Downward District. The district, long ignored and oppressed by the ruling elite, became a breeding ground for unrest, harboring those who had nothing left to lose and everything to fight for.

1. Philosophy

The Collective's symbol is a smoldering ember cloaked in darkness, representing their belief that even the smallest spark can ignite a revolution. They operate on the principle that power, once abused, must be torn down completely.

Their saying is: ""From embers unseen, a blaze shall grow, to light the path where shadows go."

2. Structure

The Collective is a decentralized group, making it difficult for the Sceptrec Council to root out. While it lacks a single leader, key figures - known as Kindlers -guide the various cells. Each Kindler oversees a small group called a Veil, responsible for specific tasks such as sabotage, gathering intelligence, or propaganda.

The Forge: The main Veil tasked with creating weapons, poisons, and tools for sabotage. Members here are often blacksmiths, alchemists, and apothecaries..

The Shadowtongues: The spies and informants who infiltrate the palace and council chambers. They specialize in gathering secrets and feeding misinformation.

The Ashblades: The Collective's most dangerous members—assassins and saboteurs skilled in combat and subterfuge. They carry out high-risk missions to cripple the Council's infrastructure.

The Emberhands: The heart of the rebellion, composed of healers, teachers, and advocates who support the impoverished and rally the district's people.

PELIOTUS TRIBE

The Peliotus Tribe is a nomadic people hailing from the unforgiving snowbound regions, where icy winds howl across endless plains of frost and towering glacial cliffs loom in the distance. Known for their resilience and ferocity, they are a warrior society that thrives in the harshest of climates, their survival rooted in their deep connection to the tundra and its secrets.

Culture and Beliefs Survival as Honor: Among the Peliotus, enduring the brutal cold and conquering its challenges is a mark of strength. They believe that only the strong are worthy to guide their tribe, with leadership determined through trials of combat and survival.

Spiritual Connection to the Ice: The tribe worships Koritha, the Spirit of the Eternal Frost, whom they believe grants them the strength to thrive in the frozen wilderness and connections to animals who help in sustenance. Ice is sacred to them, and their rituals often involve carving intricate symbols into glacial formations.

The Hunt as a Sacred Rite: Hunting is not merely for sustenance but a spiritual act. The Peliotus hold ceremonial hunts to honor the tundra beasts, particularly the massive Frosthorn Elk, whose antlers are said to channel the blessings of Koritha.
