Chapter 65 - The gangsters attack, Yuqi is in danger

"The waves are running, the waves are flowing, and the rivers are endless..."

In a dimly lit nightclub in Magic City, a classic song played in the background. At a corner table, a burly man in a vest, cigarette dangling from his lips, sat with his legs crossed, exuding an air of arrogance.

His green-haired lackey approached with a burst of excitement. "Second Brother Ding, I just saw something on Weibo!"

Ding Li raised an eyebrow, taking a lazy drag from his cigarette. "What is it? Spit it out."

The lackey handed him the phone, practically bouncing on his heels. "Look! There's a female star near us, trapped, asking for help. And, damn, is she gorgeous!"

Ding Li glanced at the screen, his eyes narrowing in interest as he read the post. Twenty minutes ago, a famous star named Yuqi had posted a distress message.

I'm Yuqi. I'm trapped in Songjiang District, Magic City, on the 25th floor of TC Building. The police line is busy, and I'm running out of food. Please, anyone who can, help me...

A slow grin crept across Ding Li's face. He had his fair share of women, especially from the nightclubs he frequented, but a celebrity? That was a whole new level. And with the city in chaos, no law or order in sight, who was going to stop him?

He leaned back, a predatory gleam in his eyes. "Well, well... a celebrity all alone? Let's go get her."

The green-haired lackey smirked. "You gonna make her my sister-in-law, Second Brother?"

Ding Li shot him a glare, his voice sharp. "You got a problem with that?"

The lackey backed off immediately, laughing nervously. "Nope! Congrats, Second Brother!"

Beside them, a man with earrings chimed in, "You leaving me behind for this?"

Ding Li shrugged. "Fine, Ahua, you can come. But don't slow us down."

The trio stood up, ready for the hunt. Once, they had a whole crew of twenty in their gang, but after the zombie outbreak, only the three of them remained. Their boss had already turned into one of the undead. If it weren't for Ding Li awakening his werewolf abilities, they'd all be dead too.

"Alright," Ding Li said, "there are too many zombies on the streets. We need to lure them away."

The green-haired lackey nodded, grabbing a stereo and MP4 from the nightclub. They blasted music at full volume as they stepped into the streets. The plan worked perfectly—zombies were drawn to the noise like moths to a flame. While the undead shuffled towards the source of the music, the three men slipped through the shadows, heading toward the TC Building.

Meanwhile, at the front entrance of the same building, Yuto Saito and his group had just finished wiping out over a hundred zombies. The air still crackled with the energy of their recent battle as the girls handed over the spar—the crystalline remnants of the zombies' souls—to Yuto.

Yun Yun smiled, her face bright despite the grim surroundings. "Just some regular zombies. Too little experience though, only about thirty spar."

Yuto nodded. "Still, we gathered 1380 experience and 36 spar—decent enough haul."

Ni Shuang, gripping her massive axe, grinned. "At this rate, we'll be able to upgrade the floating island in no time!"

Suddenly, Orange's ears perked up. "Brother Su, I hear more zombies in the basement of that building."

Yuto's eyes flashed. "Let's go."

As they headed toward the parking lot, up in the TC Building, Yuqi watched from her office window. Her heart pounded with hope as she saw Yuto and his team moving towards her building. Could it be... someone saw my message? Is help finally here?

She quickly checked her phone again, scrolling through the comments under her Weibo post:

"Stay strong, Yuqi! Help is on the way!"

"If I were in the city, I'd come save you in a heartbeat."

"Don't give up! You'll be okay!"

But just as she felt a surge of relief, there was a loud knock at her door.

"Ding dong."

Startled, Yuqi rushed to the door, peeking through the peephole. Three men stood outside—one of them large, with a dangerous look in his eyes. Her stomach dropped. These were not the rescuers she was hoping for.

Who are they?
