"Run!" Yuto Saito jolted awake, drenched in cold sweat.
"Hahaha," came a mocking laugh from his side. Liang Fu grinned, "Brother Yuto, did you have a nightmare?"
Yuto Saito looked around, realizing he was back in his university dormitory. It was a four-person room, and the setting felt oddly familiar. As he glanced at the three familiar faces in front of him, a wave of surprise washed over him.
"What's going on?" he muttered to himself. "Aren't these my college roommates? Did I... get reborn before the apocalypse?"
Li Shiqian, another roommate, teased with a smile, "Brother Yuto, were you dreaming about being chased?"
Before Yuto could answer, Cai Cheng, their third roommate, chimed in, "Or maybe it was a dream about someone's dumplings!"
Yuto Saito remained silent, picking up his phone from the table. He checked the date: July 7, 2022, 7:01 am. His expression grew serious; there were only 8 hours left before the end of the world.
He vividly remembered that on July 7th, around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, cracks in time and space appeared all over the globe. A strange energy seeped out—corpse energy and spiritual energy simultaneously. Roughly 20% of the world's population lost their minds and transformed into zombies, mindlessly attacking anything that moved with savage ferocity. However, 1% of the population awakened supernatural abilities, with varying levels of strength.
In those early days, the military managed to contain the chaos to some extent. But a week later, the zombies mutated, becoming faster and more lethal, even learning to swim. Worse yet, animals started mutating too; once-docile creatures turned into ferocious monsters.
Although humanity had its Awakened, they were still overwhelmed by the relentless waves of zombies and monsters. Cities began to fall. The area where Yuto lived was no exception; three years into the apocalypse, it faced a catastrophic assault by millions of zombies and four ninth-order monsters. Even with 9-star powerhouses present, the city couldn't hold out. In his previous life, Yuto had no powers and relied solely on enhanced potions. During the final battle, exhausted and powerless, he died as the ninth-order monster breached the city.
Now, as Yuto Saito reflected on his rebirth, his emotions were a mix of relief and frustration. It was a second chance, but he was still just an ordinary person.

Eye of Analysis: Allows the user to see detailed information about others.
Copy Card: Can copy abilities, items, buildings, etc. (Note: Cannot copy living creatures.)
Floating Island: A circular island with a diameter of ten meters that can float in the air. The area can be upgraded, and the host is invincible while on the island. The floating island is protected by a shield that renders it invisible when stationary and invulnerable when activated. The shield and movement consume one spar per day.
"Wow, this is amazing!" Yuto Saito thought, overwhelmed with excitement. With the floating island, he could stay safe even during the apocalypse! Spars, the energy source for the island, could be obtained by killing zombies and monsters. The only downside was that the island's initial size was small, but its area could be expanded.
He then focused on the Copy Cards. They could replicate not only abilities but also items and buildings. This was invaluable! Yuto knew better than to waste a card on something trivial like bread or water. He needed to focus on copying powerful abilities.

Cai Cheng noticed Yuto's discomfort and asked, "Brother Yuto, are you okay? Is your stomach hurting?"
Li Shiqian quickly added, "Maybe you should see the school doctor?"
Yuto Saito gritted his teeth and shook his head, "No, I'm fine."
Li Shiqian was unconvinced but decided to go buy breakfast for Yuto anyway. He left with the others, saying, "I'll get you something to eat. Take it easy."
Twenty minutes later, Li Shiqian returned with breakfast and found Yuto lying on his bed, drenched in sweat.
"Brother Yuto, are you sure you don't need to see a doctor?" Li Shiqian asked, concerned.
Yuto, still in pain but grateful, replied, "No, I'm good. Thanks."
Li Shiqian placed the food on the table, "Alright, rest up. I'll let the professor know you're not feeling well."
Yuto thanked him, and as Li Shiqian left, Yuto finally allowed himself to relax. Exhausted from the awakening process, he drifted off to sleep, his mind already racing with plans for the impending apocalypse.
