As we road down the road two people joined us saying greeting our grandfather and hoping he had an easy trip. They road behind us and we continue to follow our grandfather down the road until he stoped outside of a few boutiques. Soem had men's clothes in the windows and another had women's. He got off his horse and the people who meant up with us quickly got off and took the horses reigns, they also came and ask for our reigns as well. We handed them over and got off our horses. Grandfather waved for us to follow and we walked into the women's boutique. There were a lot of dresses lining the walls, a women rushed over to greet us.
"This is my grand daughter she need 10 new outfits get her whatever she needs and you know where to send everything."
"Of course sir. Hello my lady name is madam Clara you can follow me this way." The lady said.
Clara was a tall women who looked fairly young she has light brown hair and peircing yellow eyes, it was as if she could see right through me. It was a little intimidating, as I followed her I notice she hand shallow long fingers with long nails at the end. I also noticed her ears were slightly pointed. She brought me to a room with a small couch and motioned for me to sit.
"Are there any colors or styles you would prefer" she said as she had a catalog of dress styles sitting in front of the desk.
"Umm I'm not really sure, whatever you think is best."
She smiled at me and said "I'll be right back, let me grab you a few things to try." With that she walked out of the room and another person came in and set a cup of tea in front of me. This lady was clearly at least my ave but she was shorter then me, had light bling hair and brown eyes. She was a little more heavy set with her shorter height. She didn't speak and left as quickly as she had come in never making eye contact and trying her best to keep her head down. Shortly after Clara came back in with a few other women. Clara was using magic as the dresses floated in the room after her. I was a little caught off gaurd I as I hadn't ever seen anyone else use magic.
"I grabbed a few styles and think a dark blue or green would look best with your hair and skin tone. Let me know if there are any other colors your interested in" she said as a swatch book of colors floated over to me. I reach out to grab it which is when she said "oh my goodness you haven't touched your drink is something wrong with it?"
"No it's fine I'm just not very thirsty." I said, the sup still had a lot of steam coming off it.
"Ok let me know if we can get you anything else." At this point she seemed to notice that I had grabbed the swatches. "I'm so sorry I assumed you knew how to magic. Your not from here I'm sorry if this was a shock."
One of the women kind of snickered. I noticed they were clearly trying to poke fun at me.
"Your fine, it's not my first time seeing magic." I said, I picked up the still boiling hot cup and cast a cooling spell in my head and they watched the cup stop steaming as I took a sip. This is a world of magic so it should be ok for me to use it, it just didn't feel right to be made fun of for just not being from here. All of the women went straight faced when they realized there ploy hadn't worked.
"You know how to use magic without saying a drawing a circle or saying a spell?" Clara asked looking surprised.
"Yes, I don't know to many but I know the basics of what I read. I've been casting without saying an incantation since I was a child. Is that not normal?"
"No my lady, only those with extreme control of their abilities are able to cast that way. It's extremely rare I've only heard of two other people who could do it in the past 100 years I've been alive. The academy will truly be blessed with you as a student, they will be able to teach you more advanced spells." Clara said and smiled brightly. "Ladies you should leave so lady Nicole can try on some of the dresses."
When the other ladies left and Clara was starting to leave I spoke
"Um madam Clara I'm not sure how to wear these dresses."
"No problem let me summon some fairy to help you." Clara said.
With that 4 little lights appeared and I could hear small high pitched sounds that sounded like they were talking. The grabbed the dresses and floated over to me, I ended up trying on 5 different styles and landed on 3 of them. I ended up getting a style called braided maxi dress, there was a braid across the back of the dress that then had a V drop in the front and V open back , it had two slits at the bottom that stopped at the knee, it fully covered my shoulders as well. The next dress style was called the Athens style. This dress had a thick tank top that dropped to a V in the from and had a thick belt line that made the dress looked pull fitted to my waist, it didn't have any slits at the skirt, but had good details sown into the dress. The last dress was a flower off the shoulder dress. It was the only dress I got without a V neck it had a spegheti strap with loose off the shoulder fabric and fabric that was loose drop fabric similar to the fabric hanging off the shoulders, it had one slit on the side and flowers at the bottom of the dress making its way up. I also got a few dresses in that style without the flowers so it was a off the shoulder belle cami dress. I got a few different colors in all of the dresses but stuck mainly with dark green, dark blue, red and black. I got a few gold and silver belts along with some other hair decorations and necklaces to go along with it. I also ended up getting a brown pair of flat sandles and a dark brown pair of short wedge heels sandles to go with everything. I waited at the bouquet for my grandfather and brother to come back. During that time I changed into a red Athens style dress with one of the gold belts I had gotten, while the rest were packed up and sent to my grandfathers house.
I didn't wait much longer for my grandfather and brother to come back to the boutique, my brother had also changed into a blue button up shirt with dress pants and shoes. With there arrival we went back out to the horses. We started riding back through the capital, I still saw people looking over towards us and I noticed that the other horses we went by were all black, different shades of brown, or white. It makes sense now why my grandfather had made a comment about the horse my brother choose.
We arrive to an area that only had houses some were small while other were large houses and some looked like mansions. We started see bigger mansion looking houses with fenced and gated courtyards around them. We got to a good gated house with a big garden and fountain outside of it, and road into it as gaurds opened the gate.
