After a moment of searching, I spotted my seat in the corner by the window. I made my way over and sat down, taking in the view of the outside.
Just then, Kazuki walked in, his usual energetic self. "Hey, Ichiro! Found your seat?"
"Yeah, right here by the window," I replied
Kazuki grinned. "Anyways, you look better today than yesterday. Got enough sleep?" he asked.
"Yeah, I did," I responded
"Do you still have the movie tickets I gave you?" Kazuki asked
"Yes, I do. Do you want them back?" I asked, reaching into my bag.
"Nah," he said, shaking his head. "Just saying, today would be a good day for you to ask Shiori-san if she wants to watch the movie with you."
Just then, Shiori-san entered the room, her presence immediately catching my attention.
"Well, gotta go. Good luck, Ichiro!" Kazuki said, giving me a pat on the back before heading to his seat.
Shiori-san sat down on her seat, which was next to mine, placing her bag neatly under her desk.
I whispered to myself, "That's Shiori-san, right?"
"Morning, Ichiro,"
"Huh? M-Morning,"
I wanted to ask her about going to the movies together, but the thought of starting the conversation made me nervous. "But I haven't talked to her much before," I thought.
"Um.."
"Err, Yeah?"
"Ichiro, You are in the Photography club, aren't you?" Shiori asked
"I am finally talking to her!".
"M-me? Yeah, I am in the Photography Club. Why do you ask?"
"Because Photography caught my interest some days ago" she replied, her tone casual but hinting at curiosity.
"S-Shiori-san with me in the Photography Club?" I felt a surge of excitement. "She is so beautiful she could be a great model for the pictures," I thought.
"We are looking for new members," I said, trying to sound calm
"Really, that's great," Shiori said with a smile. "So, how many members are there in the club?"
"Did she really need to ask this?
"Members… Uhh… There are just four right now."
"Perfect!" she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Perfect?" I repeated in my mind,
Did she really just say that?
A surge of joy bubbled up inside me as I processed her words. "Maybe this is my chance to get to know her better…" I thought.
"Really? That's great!"
"We'd love to have you join us."
As the bell rang, signaling the end of the class, it was finally time for the club activities.
"S-Shiori-san, do you want to check out the Photography Club?" I asked
With a nod, Shiori-san gathered her belongings and followed me to the photography clubroom.
Upon reaching the clubroom, I swung open the door, revealing a cozy space with camera equipment around, photographs adorning the walls.
"Welcome to the Photography Club," I said, gesturing for Shiori-san to enter.
Her eyes widened in awe as she took in the sight. "Wow, it's amazing," she exclaimed, her voice filled with wonder.
Just then, Rina, the third member of our club, looked up from the camera she was adjusting. "Hey, Ichiro! Who's this?" she asked
"This is Shiori-san, one of my classmates," I introduced, trying to keep my voice steady. "She's thinking of joining our club."
"That's awesome! Welcome, Shiori-san."
"Thank you, but I don't really know much about photography,"
"That's not a problem at all," Rina said reassuringly. "We all started as beginners. I can show you around and teach you some basics."
Just then, Kazuki entered the clubroom. "Hey guys, kinda lat—"
"Shiori-san? What brings you here?" he asked, his surprise evident.
"I am just checking out the Photography Club as I was thinking of joining it"
"Really? That's great, we are getting a new member!"
Rina took Shiori under her wing, guiding her through the room and explaining the various pieces of equipment. "So, this is the camera we use most often," Rina began, handing Shiori a DSLR camera. "Let me show you the basic functions."
Shiori took the camera, her fingers lightly touching the buttons as Rina explained. "This is the power button. And here's the shutter button. To take a picture, you need to press it halfway to focus, and then press it all the way down."
Shiori nodded, her eyes focused on the camera. "Okay, I think I got it."
"Great," Rena continued. "Now, let's talk about the different modes. For beginners, the automatic mode is the easiest to start with. It adjusts the settings for you. But as you get more comfortable, you can start experimenting with manual settings to get the exact shot you want."
"That sounds interesting. Can we try taking some pictures?"
"Of course," Rena said with a smile. "Let's start with something simple. How about we take a picture of that flower arrangement over there?"
Shiori nodded eagerly, lifting the camera to her eye. She pressed the shutter button halfway, focused on the flowers, and then pressed it all the way down. The camera clicked, capturing the image.
"Nice shot!" Rina praised. "You're a natural."
Shiori beamed. "Thanks, Rena. This is fun."
As Shiori continued practicing with the camera, Kazuki and I watched from a distance. "Looks like she's really getting into it," Kazuki remarked.
"Yeah," I agreed, feeling a sense of pride. "I think she'll fit right in."
Just then, Rena called us over. "Hey, You two why don't you both join us? We can have a mini photoshoot session."
As the club activity came to an end, Shiori turned to us, her eyes sparkling. "Thank you for inviting me"
"We are glad you enjoyed it,"
