"No bounty?"
The excitement that had just appeared on Lingling's face quickly faded.
"What do you need my help with?"
Seeing the little girl's "practical" attitude, Mo Fan felt a bit speechless but still explained the situation regarding the Liu sisters.
When Lingling heard that it involved two ordinary girls—twin sisters, no less—her face immediately showed suspicion.
"What? I'm asking you to find someone, so why are you looking at me like that?" Mo Fan's mouth twitched slightly.
"According to the Magic Convention rules, it's explicitly stated that harming ordinary citizens will result in punishment by the Magic Association." Lingling said sharply.
"Lingling, thinking too maturely at your age can hinder your growth."
Though Lingling was suspicious of why Mo Fan was so interested in these twin sisters, she still agreed to help him search. After all, she didn't think Mo Fan was that perverted.
For a top-level hacker like her, finding someone was a breeze.
In no time, Lingling had found detailed information on Liu Ru and Liu Xian, including where they lived and what they did.
Mo Fan took note of the information and memorized it.
"Mo Fan, why are you looking for them?" Lingling asked.
"Nothing much."
Mo Fan shook his head and said, "I'm heading back to the academy."
Watching him leave without even turning around, Lingling puffed up angrily. "Don't expect my help next time!" she shouted.
She could tell Mo Fan was hiding something from her, but she couldn't figure out what. Frustrated, all Lingling could do was grit her teeth.
Armed with the information about Liu Ru and Liu Xian, Mo Fan headed straight to Liu Ru's university.
Even in the magical world, there were still other types of schools. Liu Ru's university was a women's college that specialized in training nurses, flight attendants, and models, so it was known for being filled with beautiful women. Locals even referred to it as "Heaven on Earth" for men.
To be honest, Mo Fan couldn't help but agree.
After all, women in these professions were universally admired by men—including him.
Arriving at Liu Ru's class, he found himself surrounded by a group of beauties. After inquiring about Liu Ru's whereabouts, he soon saw her—a girl with an ethereal, graceful appearance.
"You're looking for me?" Liu Ru asked, her tone a bit puzzled.
She didn't remember ever meeting Mo Fan, so what could this man possibly want?
"Hello, I'm a Hunter Mage." Mo Fan explained, giving Liu Ru his credentials.
Upon hearing that Mo Fan was a mage, Liu Ru paused.
"A mage... Is there something you need from me?" she asked.
"According to my investigation, your older sister has recently been entangled with a vampire—a blood clan member." Mo Fan said.
"A... vampire?"
Liu Ru was stunned. But thinking about her sister's unusual behavior lately, and seeing Mo Fan's mage identification, she suddenly realized why her sister had seemed so pale and exhausted recently.
"Master Mage, can you help my sister?"
Even though Mo Fan appeared young, he had been able to track down her and her sister, so Liu Ru believed he must be capable of helping.
Besides, she didn't know any other mages, and seeking help from the city's demon-hunting team was out of the question. As a commoner, she had no way of making that happen.
After all, mages didn't provide their services for free; only the wealthy could afford their help.
"I'm here to help, and also to offer you and your sister a choice." Mo Fan said.
"A choice?" Liu Ru was confused.
"Not to worry. Let's deal with the vampire haunting your sister first." Mo Fan responded, not revealing the details of the choice yet.
He intended to give Liu Ru the option of becoming a vampire—a servant under his command. Anyone could be turned into a strong vampire. Once someone drank his blood, they could rise to power within the blood clan.
However, becoming a vampire meant living differently from humans. Whether the sisters wanted to live a simple life or become something more, Mo Fan felt they should have the choice.
Regardless of their decision, he had already saved her sister, creating a bond between them. If they chose to become vampires, they would be powerful allies. If not, he could still protect them.
Liu Ru felt a bit lost, but thinking of her sister's worsening condition, she quickly agreed.
That evening, Liu Ru arranged to meet with her sister, Liu Xian.
At first, Liu Xian didn't want to see her. She probably sensed that she was in danger and didn't want to drag her younger sister into it.
But when Liu Ru realized her sister was making excuses, she grew more firm in her resolve, especially with Mo Fan by her side. Eventually, Liu Xian agreed to meet.
In truth, Liu Xian had been feeling hopeless for some time, but she held on for her sister's sake.
That night, they met in a secluded area on the outskirts of the city.
To be honest, Liu Xian was worried when her sister suggested meeting there.
Of course, as she made her way over, she constantly checked behind her. She feared that the vampire who had been haunting her would also show up.
But as an ordinary girl, how could she possibly sense the vampire, Nie Dong, who had indeed been following her all along?
When Liu Xian finally saw her sister, a perfect mirror image of herself, she rushed over to her side.
"Xiao Ru, are you in some kind of trouble?" Liu Xian asked anxiously.
Looking at her sister, despite the dim light, Liu Ru could still see how pale and bloodless her face was—frail and pitiful, stirring her heart.
"Sister, aren't you the one in trouble?" Liu Ru asked in return.
"I..."
Liu Xian hesitated, her expression faltering slightly before she forced a smile. "What are you talking about, Xiao Ru? I'm fine."
"Hehehe..."
Before Liu Ru could say anything more, an eerie laugh echoed through the air. Moments later, the vampire, Nie Dong, appeared.
The moment Liu Xian saw him, her already pale face turned even whiter, as though she had seen a ghost.
Despite all her precautions, this demon had still managed to follow her here.
Liu Xian instinctively stood protectively in front of her younger sister.
When Nie Dong had first begun haunting her, Liu Xian had tried to seek help from mages. Unfortunately, they were unable to find anything. Even the city's demon-hunting team wasn't able to track him down, dismissing her claims as fantasy.
After the demon hunters left, Nie Dong would reappear, leaving Liu Xian feeling utterly powerless. To protect her sister, she had even avoided meeting with her for a long time, keeping their video calls short.
Yet, despite all her efforts to hide, it seemed that nothing could stop this nightmare from finding them.
