"ANOTHER ASTOUNDING PLAY FROM ARCTICBLAZE," the MC shouted, seemingly regaining some of her composure.
Suddenly, footage of the last attack was projected onto the giant screens fixed above the dimensional rift. On it, the figure of ArcticBlaze could be seen stretching his arm and throwing a particularly thin yet long spear, aiming it right inside the small duct near the center of the mech's chest; a closer look and an X-ray shot revealed the spear shard had been lodged inside before exploding, freezing more than half of its inside.
"This guy," Thorne mumbled, the smirk vanishing and replaced by an ashen expression. "He practically took out the mech's core just now. No wonder Titanforge is kneeling down, not moving.
Suddenly, the giant mech moved, slowly advancing toward ArcticBlaze.
"How can it still move? I thought the core was damaged?" I asked Thorne. Since our childhood, Thorne has been the most interested in tech-based worlds.
"Maybe the damage to the core wasn't severe enough," Thorne replied, a contemplative look on his face. "Still, the damage was substantial. The time it can run must have been severely shortened."
And from the looks of it, he was right. Titanforge's speed gradually increased on the screen, each step kicking up a massive cloud of sand. The turbines at the back of the mech roared, and its fists ignited with thrusters, launching a barrage of punches.
ArcticBlaze reacted quickly. His pair of crystallized wings snapped open. Kicking off the ground, he soared into the air, dodging every single one of Titanforge's attacks.
Abruptly, Titanforge's shoulder compartment opened, launching a series of stardust missiles.
The volley of missiles flew through the air, each one independently aiming at ArcticBlaze.
Unfortunately, none of them reached the ice mage. With a wave of his hand, a giant glowing formation appeared in the sky above ArcticBlaze's hands.
The giant formation unleashed a storm of its ice spells, each aimed directly at a small division at the back of individual missiles, disarming them mid-air.
"Amazing..." Watching ArcticBlaze's precise attacks, I couldn't help but suck in a deep breath. "How does he know so much about those missiles? Doesn't he come from a fantasy-based world?"
"Once more, we are witnessing the might of ArcticBlaze's seemingly unending mana pool," the MC spoke, her avatar floating beside the two figures. "Even the cursed desert of Kaha can't seem to slow him down."
She was right. Even the ice mages from the Gold League would have had difficulty fighting in this environment, much less a mage from the Silver League.
Yet ArcticBlaze seemed utterly undeterred. Still, that didn't mean he was completely invincible.
Titanforge, knowing that his mech had little time, charged through the defensive formation, temporarily halting it in place at the cost of his durability.
But that was all he needed. At the same time, one of Titanforge's Stardust missiles broke through its group and rushed past the formation.
A bit taken aback, ArcticBlaze tried to dodge but was a moment too slow.
Boom!
The missile struck at the center of his silver armor, causing him to crash in the desert.
At the same time, the defensive formation also faltered, allowing Titanforge to pierce through it.
To stop Titanforge's charging figure, ArcticBlaze, despite kneeling, hurriedly sent out a barrage of ice spears in his direction.
Titanforge was about to deploy his shields when he paused. Instead, he slammed his fists into the ground. He let out a series of underground explosions, causing a wave of sand to rise, completely enveloping ArcticBlaze's ranged attacks and weakening them.
Furthermore, his strike caused the wave of sand to strike down, forcing ArcticBlaze to conjure an Ice barrier to avoid being buried inside the cursed sands.
Titanforge didn't stop there; as if preparing for his final attack, a blast of energy began collecting in the center of the mech's chest.
"It seems like Titanforge is going for the kill." The MC spoke, bringing her mic closer to her lips. "He is using every last bit of energy in his broken core. Can ArcticBlaze survive this?"
The energy began merging in the form of a giant golden sphere. At the same time, the giant floating screens showed the ArcticBlaze figure buried under the sand, surrounded by his ice barrier.
"Let's see you survive this," Titanforge mumbled from inside the cockpit and fired.
BOOOM!!!
The world erupted into a blinding explosion that consumed everything, vaporizing sand and dunes alike. Silence enveloped the surroundings, both inside the rift and in the stadium.
This… no one knew what to say. An attack of this caliber? Were we watching a match in the Silver League?
Titanforge also stood still. The attack had taken almost everything out of his mech. The rest of the energy had been depleted by ionic shields tanking the blast and the shockwave. Only a couple of drops remained, and the camera showed him using those to scan his surroundings continuously.
