Y/n parked her car and got off. Few people whispered seeing her as the interview was a blast.
She went ahead and all the things that happened that day came to her mind. She was walking in a daze when her phone rang.
She hung up without picking and sat on bench with tears in her eyes. Suddenly two small hands covered her eyes.
Y/n smiled while holding the hands. Minji laughed and removed her hands. Minji frowned.
"What happened ?" She asked and squatted down. "Why are you crying ?" Y/n smiled while wiping her tears.
"Has someone hit you ? Is it paining ?" Minji asked. Y/n nodded. "Where ?"
Y/n kept her hand on her heart. "Here ? I will give a kiss then it will be fine." Minji said innocently and kissed y/n's cheek.
"Don't cry or your eyeliner will be ruined." Minji said. "But I didn't applied today." Y/n said.
"You can have poor eyesight because of crying." Minji said. "Who told you ?" Y/n asked.
"Grandma." Y/n nodded. "Then we have to agree." Y/n said. "Now stop crying." Minji said.
Y/n wiped her face and smiled cupping her cheeks. "Now I am fine okay ?" Minji smiled.
"Minji !" Jungkook yelled and pulled Minji towards him. "How many times I have told you to stay away from her." He shouted.
"But Dada..." Minji spoke. "Shut up !" Minji flinched. "There is no need to meet her." He said glaring at Y/n.
Minji looked at y/n. Hanwoo came there. "What happened hyung ?" He asked. "Take her inside." Jungkook handed Minji to Hanwoo who took her inside.
Jungkook walked towards y/n. "And you.. I am telling you last time. Stay away from my daughter and family."
Y/n glared back at him. "Today the drama that you created, after that not even your shadow should be on my family." Jungkook gritted out.
"I thought we would start afresh, but you're a disgusting woman, you don't even realise." Jungkook said and leaned towards her.
"I also thought that you would be ashamed of your antics but you are as it is." Y/n retorted.
"I will never forget today's incident neither will I let you forget it." Jungkook seethed.
"You have messed with wrong person. Now I will show you how bad of a person Jeon Jungkook is." Jungkook said.
Suddenly there were shouting outside. A group of women were chanting slogans.
"He is a stain, he is a curse.. He is a sinner, not a father." They chanted.
Jungkook looked at them and y/n too was confused. "Have some shame and return the daughter to her mother." They shouted.
"Who are you guys ?" Jungkook asked. "Bring your daughter Minji." They said. "Why should I ? Who are you ?" Jungkook asked.
"We are from Women and child welfare department. We are here to free your daughter from your torture." They said.
"Save her from my torture? You mean my family tortures her ?" Jungkook asked in disbelief. Y/n also frowned.
"We have come to bring your daughter back to her mother." The woman said.
Everyone again chanted slogans. Jungkook and y/n's family also came down. "What right do you have to ask for my daughter ?" Jungkook asked.
"We have more authority than you imagine. All you have to know is that now you can't torture her anymore." The woman said.
"We saw your interview. We know what condition you have made of that girl. It's good that she exposed you." They said.
Hae-won looked at y/n. "We won't let her stay with you anymore." They said. Jungkook glared at y/n.
"She is right. You are not only bad person but bad father too. Due to you your daughter could have died. Did you care at all that she could have died ?" They asked.
"That's not true. There is a misunderstanding." Hae-won said. "Who are you ?" They asked.
"I am his mother." Hae-won said. "Did you see ? She is saying we are lying just to cover her son's misdeeds."
"What are you saying ? Minji is precious to us. I raised her up with my own hands." Hae-won said angrily.
"And then tortured her with same hands." They scoffed. "Bring Minji or.."
"Or what ?" Hae-won asked furiously. "You will find out when we take her away."
"You will take her and we will let you ?" Hae-won asked. "Let's see how will take her."
"We will take her either peacefully or forcefully." Hae-won was shocked.
"Jungkook what are they saying ? I won't let them take her." Hae-won said. "Don't worry mom, Minji is going nowhere." He said.
"I'll show them." Jungkook said and dialled a no. "Call whoever you want. No one can stop us." They yelled.
"Yes , sir ? What can I do for you ?" The officer asked. "please come to my apartment
Some people have come from child welfare department and threatening to take my daughter." Jungkook said.
"What ? Women and child welfare department ?" Officer asked. "The matter is worsened. I saw your interview, I can't help you sir." With that officer hung up.
Jungkook groaned. "Mr. Hyunsik..." Jungkook mumbled. Hanwoo came with his phone."hyung, hyunsik."
Jungkook quickly took phone. "Jungkook, Hanwoo explained me everything. The wise thing to do now is to let them take Minji away." Hyunsik said.
"What are you saying ? Do something..." Jungkook panicked."Jungkook please..". Hyunsik cut him off.
"Think smartly now. Usually the child's custody is given to mother. The matter is already complicated by the interview." Hyunsik said.
"Please don't stop Mina if she comes." "But.." Jungkook threw the phone away in anger.
"They can't take my daughter away.. I won't." Jungkook panicked. "hyung, calm down " Hanwoo said.
"One wrong decision can separate you from Minji forever. Do what Mr. Hyunsik said." Hanwoo said.
"Hanwoo.." Jungkook said but Hanwoo cut him off. "This is mass media ! There is no debate here. Y/n created an issue at the interview. Understand this." Hanwoo explained.
Jungkook looked back at Y/n. "This is all her fault." He said glaring. "I won't spare her." He said and went to those women.
"Are you satisfied ? Now bring your daughter. We want to see her condition." Woman said.
"What are you saying ? She is in her house not jail. She's happy." Hae-won said helplessly.
"We saw just how well you take care of her." She said mocking. Jungkook just glared at her.
"Will you bring her or we go and get her ?" They asked. They moved towards the house.
"Try and enter my house. She is my granddaughter." Hae-won said blocking them. "Who are you to take her ?"
"Calm down." Hyun-tae said. "What are you saying ? They're trying to take our Minji away. Instead of stopping them you are stopping me ?" Hae-won asked.
"Didn't you see that Jungkook already talked to police and lawyer. Chae go and bring Minji." Hyun-tae said.
"Wait, don't go. I won't let them take Minji." Hae-won said. Hyun-tae signalled chae. She nodded and left.
"Mom hold on." Jungkook said. "You've come here on behalf of a mother to take my daughter. To seperate her from me. Then where is mother ?" Jungkook asked.
"Does she care about her daughter ? I am sure that she is partying or attending a buisness meeting." Jungkook mocked.
"She isn't here but you care for my daughter ? Where is her mother ?" Jungkook shouted. They were silent.
"I'm here, Jungkook." A voice said. Everyone turned around and saw Mina standing.
She came forward in front of them. "There you are..." Hae-won mocked and came in front of.
"You seem to be missing your daughter after so long." She said sarcastically. "Didn't you missed her when you left her when she was 6 months old to elope with your husband's boss for money ?"
Mina was silent. Jungkook clenched his fist and looked away. "Do you think I will let you take Minji away ?"
"Leave from here." She yelled. Mina sighed. "Didn't I tell you all ? They won't let my child come back to me." Mina said.
Hae-won saw her in disbelief. Y/n was bewildered by everything.
"They have always done this. They have kept my child away from me." Mina said faking sadness.
"You fake woman.. if you lie further.." Hae-won said but was cut off by the woman.
"If you talk to her in this tone, you can't imagine what awaits you." The woman said sternly.
"The child will leave with mother only. If you continue this then you will get arrested." The woman said.
Just then Chae brought Minji in her arms who was holding her plushie. "Where are we going ?" She asked.
"To mom." Chae replied. Everyone looked back and saw Minji. Mina smiled. Hae-won looked at her with tears.
Chae kept Minji down. Minji saw Mina standing and signalling her to come. Y/n was standing behind her.
"Come to me. Don't fear. Come to mama." Mina said smiling.
Minji stood there staring. She suddenly ran towards her. Mina smiled and extended her hand to hug her.
Minji ran past her and hugged Y/n's legs. Everyone was shocked. Y/n looked at Mina who pursed her lips.
Y/n squatted down. Minji hugged her neck tightly. "Her mother is waiting to hug her and she hugging another lady ?" The women said.
"Looks like Minji loves Y/n more than her mom." They whispered. Bong-cha smiled seeing this.
"Who is she ?" Minji asked y/n. "Why are they here to take me ? Send them away." Minji said with teary eyes.
"I am scared to go anywhere.". She said. Y/n looked at Mina. "Don't be scared dear. They are here to take you to your mom. Isn't she your mom ?" Y/n said to Minji.
"Is she my mom ?" Minji asked looking at Mina. Mina squatted down and smiled. "Yes, I am your mom." She said extending her hand.
Minji turned away and hugged Y/n. Mina's smile dropped. "Look what they have done to her." Mina said.
"She looks so scared. No problem. Your mom is here.No one will scold you, come to mom." Mina said.
Minji looked at her than at Y/n. "Y/n aunty I don't want to go anywhere." She said.
"Why have they brainwashed the child against her mother ?" The women said. "Minji.." Y/n said and picked her in her arms.
"We must do something." The woman said and went near Y/n. She held Minji's arm and started pulling her.
"Don't be stubborn, go to your mom. Come she loves you." She said. "No, I don't want to go." Minji resisted.
The woman continued to pull her. "Stay back." Y/n yelled making woman go back.
"Can't you see that she is scared." Y/n said hugging Minji close. "Don't touch the child."
"Thank you, y/n. If not for you yesterday thing would have..." Mina said sadly. Y/n looked at her.
"Thank you so much for saving my daughter." Mina said. Jungkook scoffed. "Trust me, I wanted to come with you but you already left." Mina said.
"The way you helped me yesterday, please help me today also." Mina said. Y/n was sceptical.
"You know how they behave with her and how they treat her. That's why I came to take her back." Mina said.
"Minji needs me. Please explain her." Mina said. Minji hugged Y/n. "She will listen to you. You know if she stays back what they will do." Mina said emotionally.
"Please helpe. I beg you. I will love Minji immensely." Mina said with tears. Y/n looked conflicted.
"If you explain she will understand. She needs her mother." Mina said helplessly. "What was that ?" Hae-won asked.
"You disowned her when she was 6 months old. Did you realised now that she needs her mother ?" She asked.
"Where was this motherly love then ?" Hae-won asked. " An interview on tv seems to have woken up the mother in you." Hae-won said sarcastically.
"And you realised that oh my god !" Hae-won said keeping her hand on her mouth to dramatize. "Minji needs her mother." Hae-won completed.
"Tell me... You came back because Jungkook now has money, right ? Motherhood my foot. Disgusting."
"I think they won't do like this. Dial 911. Hand over the kid to her mother or ." They threatened.
Y/n put Minji down. "Minji dear. Why are you sad ? What did you tell me ? That brave girls don't cry... " Y/n said softly.
"Don't you remember that you were looking for your mom at party ? So she is your mom." Y/n said pointing to Mina.
"She loves you immensely. Every kid loves with their mother. I also live with my mom." Y/n said
"Will you go with your mom too ?" Y/n asked. "Is she my mom ?" Minji asked.
"The child doesn't recognise her mother. They never told her about her mom. Didn't even showed her picture. This is limit." The woman said.
"We won't show her picture and why would we ?" Jungkook asked now frustrated.
"She is calling herself her mom, right ?" Jungkook asked pointing at Mina.
"My daughter was 6 months old. Where were you ? Who were you with ?" Jungkook asked with moist eyes.
"Today you remember her , what happened that day ?" He asked. "Jungkook if I want to I can answer all your questions." Mina said.
Jungkook scoffed. "Then go on." Jungkook said moving towards her but Hanwoo held him. His eyes were red due to anger and tears.
"But I won't because I never had any expectations from you. Things have not changed much today." Mina said mocking.
"I just want my daughter back." Mina said. "You want to take my child away ?" Jungkook gritted and went towards her but Hanwoo stopped him.
"Please calm down, hyung." He whispered. Y/n picked Minji in her arms. "Minji, your mom is waiting for you." Y/n said and tried to remove Minji's arms from her neck.
Minji tigtened her arms. "Minji... You shall go to your mom. You are a good girl, right ? Go to your mom.." Y/n said. Hae-won shook her head. Minji looked at Mina who was smiling.
Minji hesitantly went to Mina. Mina grabbed her in her arms. Minji was still holding Y/n's hand. Y/n looked at her sadly, as if she is doing something wrong.
"The way you hate me and Namjoon, if you had loved Minji just like that then this won't be happening." Mina said to Jungkook.
"You just wanted revenge more than your daughter. Anyways, Minji will be happy now. I will give her both father and mother's love." Mina said.
"Thank you, Y/n. Because of you I got my daughter back. You did a good deed by exposing this man." Mina said to Y/n who just was staring at Minji.
"Now you don't worry, Minji is safe with her mom." Mina said looking at Minji. Hae-won glared at Y/n. "Miss. Mina, Minji is still not well, give her medicine on time. I will give you my no. for any query." Y/n said forwarding her phone.
Mina nodded and put her no in it. Y/n looked at Minji who was having tear in her eyes. "Minji, dear you can call me everyday, ok ?" She said smiling.
"Thanks again Y/n." Mina said. Y/n side glanced at Jungkook who was glaring at her. Mina took Minji with her and started to leave.
Minji looked behind at Y/n. She didn't took her eyes off from Y/n. Y/n stared at her longingly. Hae-won cried loudly. Yeji consoled her.
Y/n saw their condition and was skeptical about her decision. Bong-cha and Ha-joon took Y/n inside.
