"I've wanted to level up from the start," the boy admitted. "But my parents stopped me."
"Ah," Justin nodded in understanding.
If his parents were overly cautious, they likely wouldn't have let him take any risks. Being underage, the boy would have faced a lecture or worse if he tried to step out on his own. It made sense now.
The boy sighed heavily, his frustration spilling out.
"But I can't take it anymore. The NPCs are openly discriminating against people, and now there's a currency system with magic stones. If this keeps up, I'm screwed. But my parents keep saying ridiculous things!"
"What kind of things?"
"They keep insisting we need to stay calm and that taking quests is falling for a trap. They even said this is like a game and that games are evil, so these NPCs must be evil too!"
