Chapter 3 - Unknown Echoes

The days passed very slowly for Zephyr. He felt that everything around him was going to change dramatically, but he couldn't pinpoint what exactly. The sound of the explosion in the slum kept echoing in his mind, and that look that Renard had given him the day before made him feel that there was something more than just factional conflicts. But, what could it be?

One night, after returning to his humble home, Zephyr sat alone in his room. The wind was blowing outside the window, and the sky was filled with heavy clouds that threatened a storm. The atmosphere was charged with electricity, as if nature was preparing for something. As Zephyr looked out the window, he felt something strange inside him, a feeling of heaviness in his chest, as if there was an inner force trying to emerge. But he didn't know how to control it.

His phone suddenly rang, interrupting his thoughts. It was Kira calling.

"Zephyr, are you okay?" Her voice was full of concern.

"Yes, why?" Zephyr asked coldly.

"I've heard rumors… something strange is happening in the city. I think things are getting out of hand."

"What exactly do you mean?"

"There are reports of people with strange powers appearing, powers we've never seen before. Some say they come from somewhere else… from the underworld."

Zephyr felt a shiver run down his spine. "The underworld? But that's just a legend, right?"

"That's what we thought. But things seem to be changing. We need to be prepared."

"For whom?"

"For anything."

After the call ended, Zephyr felt everything around him become more complicated. The underworld had always been just bedtime stories for children, but now, it seemed like those legends might be turning into reality.

That night, Zephyr couldn't sleep. The sound of the wind was getting louder, as if it carried whispers from another world. As he lay in his bed, he felt something strange in the room, as if a shadow was moving in the dark. He quickly turned around, but found nothing.

"Illusions…" he said to himself, trying to calm his nerves. But he wasn't entirely sure.
