Liu Xiaoli, thinking even further, couldn't hide her excitement. While taking out a Polaroid camera to snap a picture of Wayne and Liu Tianxian, she seized the moment and said, "Actually, Qianqian is already an actress. She's gained some fame back in Huaguo. We're returning to shoot a few ads and some TV dramas. She'll even be the lead in one of them!"
Wayne, with his arm around Liu Tianxian's shoulders, initially thought she was talking about *The Story of a Noble Family*. But then he realized something was off.
*The Story of a Noble Family* was filmed in 2002 and aired in March 2003. Even if they were casting early, it couldn't be this far ahead, right? Besides, Liu Tianxian only played the second female lead in that show. The lead was Dong Lianhua.
Wayne quickly figured it out—Liu Xiaoli was just exaggerating.
There were probably ads, given that Liu Tianxian had already found a godfather, and their trip back to Huaguo was likely to capitalize on his resources.
As for the TV shows, they were likely just wishful thinking.
Hollywood had long industrialized film and television production, which allowed them to drive costs down to the bare minimum. If you wanted, you could make a movie or TV show for as little as a few hundred thousand dollars.
But Huaguo wasn't there yet. A single TV series could require millions in investment. Even if Liu Tianxian's godfather was wealthy, he couldn't just throw money around that easily.
Plus, her godfather's net worth was only about $300 million at its peak, and over 90% of that was tied up in stocks and real estate. The liquid cash he could invest wasn't even as much as Wayne had.
Still, Wayne didn't plan to call her out on it. Smiling for the camera with a peace sign, he said, "Looks like I was right—she's going to be even more famous in the future, right? By the way, does she have an agent? If I wanted to work with her, should I contact her agent or you?"
"Uh—"
Liu Xiaoli's smile froze for a moment.
Hollywood had strict rules requiring agents to be licensed, so obviously, she couldn't claim to be Liu Tianxian's agent.
But an actress about to star in a TV show without an agent? That would give her away!
Thankfully, she quickly came up with an excuse.
"Sorry, the rules in Huaguo are a bit different. Agents there don't need any special qualifications, so I've been filling that role. As for Hollywood, since we've only just arrived, I haven't decided which agency to sign her with yet."
Liu Xiaoli spoke sincerely, hoping to win Wayne's understanding and favor. Of course, she'd polished her words a little to make them sound better.
Wayne's smile didn't waver, but his eyes discreetly glanced at Liu Tianxian.
Compared to Liu Xiaoli's thick skin, Liu Tianxian was far more uncomfortable. She had been incredibly embarrassed when Liu Xiaoli started bragging, and now her face was practically burning as she looked down.
Wayne pretended not to notice and said casually, "Is that so? Well, you could consider my agent, Mike. He's a very skilled agent at WMA."
Even Liu Xiaoli was caught off guard, completely unexpecting this turn of events.
"Wayne Anderson is really that easy to talk to?" Liu Xiaoli instinctively thought. But she immediately dismissed the idea.
"No! Impossible! If Hollywood stars and production companies were this easy to work with, Qianqian and I wouldn't have struggled for so long to find a way in."
"So, does Wayne Anderson genuinely see potential in Qianqian, or does he have other intentions?"
At this thought, Liu Xiaoli subconsciously began scrutinizing Wayne from a different perspective.
"He really is handsome!"
"And he's not only a current superstar, but also the owner of a production company that's produced two consecutive box-office hits in North America."
"If Qianqian could get with him, that wouldn't be bad at all."
"Even if it's just 'dating,' as long as he provides her with the resources to become a star, that's fine by me."
Liu Xiaoli was a woman who had dared to divorce and find a godfather for her daughter. After living in the U.S. for so long, her values had become more aligned with American thinking.
"Can you give me his business card?" Liu Xiaoli quickly asked, her smile even more eager.
"Sorry, I don't have his card, but I can give you his number. Just tell him I introduced you," Wayne said, writing Mike's name and number on a sticky note, along with his own card, and handing it to her.
Liu Xiaoli, barely containing her excitement, accepted it with both hands.
Just as she was about to say something more, Hannah interrupted, "Wayne, our flight is about to board."
"Alright then," Wayne said, reluctantly letting go of Liu Tianxian. After apologizing to Liu Xiaoli, he and his group headed toward the boarding gate.
"Darling, I've noticed you seem really interested in these young girls. You wouldn't happen to have some strange fetish, would you?" Hannah teased as they walked away.
"Do I seem like that kind of person?" Wayne gave her a glare. "If I were into that, I'd have gone after Megan already."
"But Megan Fox doesn't seem like a little girl. Besides being short, she's got a figure that could rival mine."
"How about Kristen?"
"Kristen Stewart? She looks like a tomboy," Mia chimed in, making Wayne speechless.
In the end, he could only sigh and say, "I really just see potential in their future," choosing to ignore their teasing.
Neither Hannah, Mia, nor Jessica paid much attention to the topic. After all, in Hollywood, and even across the U.S., it wasn't uncommon for girls as young as 12 or 13 to enter the spotlight. Besides, Wayne wasn't that type of guy.
Otherwise, it wouldn't be them by his side right now.
As they boarded the plane, Wayne caught sight of the Olsen sisters again.
Though the Olsens were headed to Iseltwald, known as the Pearl of the Alps, and his group was bound for Zurich, both parties had to first arrive in Geneva and take a car from there.
Meanwhile, after Wayne left, Liu Tianxian let out a long sigh of relief. Fanning her flushed face with her hand, she turned to Liu Xiaoli and complained.
