Chapter 173 - Side Story - 13 - Pregnancy Pros & Pregnancy Woes

Sylvester's Point Of View

"Tristan, you don't have to keep doing so much. Why don't you rest, and tell us what you want done?" I sighed in exasperation.

During the last week of his 2nd trimester, we had hosted a massive baby shower. All the Mafia Kings were also in attendance, and the unborn child received more gifts than we could even count. Tristan had spent the following week and a half opening everything.

After opening it all, the real troubles began.

He had been driving us crazy with his nesting. At the start of his third trimester, he became insanely active, remodeling his room into a nursery. Torhrezz nearly keeled over at the sight of Tristan attempting to move furniture around.

Since Tristan wanted the gender of the baby to be a surprise, we had told everyone to aim for neutral colors. As you can imagine, the other Kings took it as a personal challenge to buy the cutest outfits possible.

For whatever gender they hoped Tristan would have...

They also bought more toys and learning materials than we could even hope to use. The baby would most likely outgrow most of it before they even got a chance to play with them.

Due to the massive amount of clothes and toys we recieved, Tristan had rearranged the closet in his room again and again. He hung up clothes, folded others, and still he wouldn't relax.

"I can't do that. If I leave it all to you guys, I'll end up hating it, then redoing it myself anyways." He shrugged.

'Unbelievable...'

"Well at least take a rest... off your feet..." I suggested.

"Okay... but can I have a vanilla milkshake?" He asked.

"Okay." I replied.

"And strawberry cheesecake?"

"Sure." Bellamy said.

"And pickles?"

"Huh?" Ferdinand said, standing up.

"Yeah. The really big ones! Ooh, and barbecue chips!"

"Now wait a minute." Cole said, worried.

"C'mon, please? I really want those things... So, do your best." Tristan said with a smirk.

Once he had gotten over his morning sickness, his freak cravings were absolutely wild. And it was never just one thing. He would crave multiple things at once, then eat it all.

We would joke about the kid coming out as a monster, because of all the weird stuff Tristan ate.

"I'll tell Torhrezz, but only if you stop frikkin nesting and get some rest." I said.

Tristan looked over at me with a pout, but I wouldn't be swayed, he had been on his feet for far too long.

"Fine. But you better bring me everything I asked for!" He huffed, as he stormed out of the room.

I looked over at everyone else, they were just as relieved but also exasperated.

"Five more weeks, right?" Ferdinand asked.

"Yeah. I'm not sure I can take much more of this. He's way too active. He's giving me heart palpitations..." Bellamy sighed.

"Well, it's your fault. And even though today is Thursday, he's sleeping with you." Cole said.

I couldn't help but chuckle. Tristan was a fitful sleeper now, not only that, but he never slept through the night anymore. And if he did, he would always sleep walk around the house.

We had placed men outside our rooms to stop him once, but he had freaked out so bad. He assumed that he was getting kidnapped, and he almost went into preterm labor. So bed time was insanely stressful.

"Fine. I find his antics to be adorable." Bellamy shrugged.

"Uhm, hey Mini Boss are you out here all alone?" We heard Dahnnie say outside the room.

It was only then, that it registered that Tristan had left the room to go Gods knew where. We rushed out of the room to find Tristan slumped against Ferdinand's door, dozing off. It turned out that he actually was tired.

So tired in fact, that he hadn't even made it inside the room. I tried to bite back my laughter at the sight, but then Tristan's next move rooted everyone to the spot.

"Mmm... Dahnnie, I'm hungry... Feed me..." He said, reaching for the poor Beta.

"It's fine. Let's go find the boss. He'll know... What to... Do? Uh, hey boss! Sorry, it's not what it looks like!" He said hastily.

"Hmm? Is it not? It looked like you were helping my mate to find me. Is that not the case?" Ferdinand asked, with a murderous glint in his eyes.

"Oh, uhm... Then it's exactly what it looks like. I was going to help him inside your room... but since you're here I'll leave it to you..." He said, before releasing Tristan and making a hasty retreat.

"Bel, we'll leave it to you. Cole, go inform Torhrezz about the food. I'm going to take a nap... Syl?" Ferdinand said.

"Yeah, I'm going to go have a talk with Khali." I replied.

"Okay. Let me know if you need anything." He replied.

We had been up for nearly 48 hours. So I could understand why Ferdinand wanted a nap. We had agreed to sleep in shifts, but Tristan ended up being a full time job.

Because on top of his nighttime wandering, he would randomly go through some kind of lustful phase. His pheromones would charm any man out of their pants, no matter how they actually felt about it.

The men in the house quickly learned to keep their distance of the third floor. The Betas were still affected by it, but able to resist to a certain degree. So it was decided to let them do the security detail from the third floor and higher.

I made my way down to the clinic, which by this point was actually looking more like a clinic now. They had merged three rooms together, and had an even bigger surgical room than the one in Sayenrio.

Khali and Stellah had actual offices now, and there was a sufficient reception desk as well. Ever since it became public knowledge that Tristan was pregnant, coming to the clinic always made the doctors inside nervous.

When I opened the door I was met with pensive stares and worried glances. Well, mostly...

"Hey, Sylvester! How's Tristan doing?" Soona asked.

She had been Spartan trained by Khali and her crew, so she was more or less on par with a real doctor at this point.

"He's fine. Still a handful..." I chuckled.

She was the only Omega from the facility left now. Luhnah and Jaihlah went with the other Omegas to Lady Dyahlettah's facility. Turns out she and her women were extremely capable. She put all the other Mafia Kings to shame.

After Tristan got past his morning sickness, we had made the trip to Shailhade to do a walk through of her facility. She had taken in some of the Omegas from the triplets, and ended up building a second attachment to her facility for more.

When asked if she would start her research soon, she declined. Saying that she would rather teach and train the Omegas to live on their own. Luhnah had immediately wanted to follow Dyahlettah anywhere.

Tristan was a bit saddened by the loss, but understood the reality of our situation. They had no purpose here. They too, were basically living in a cage.

"What brings you to the clinic, Sylvester?" Soona asked, pulling me from my thoughts.

"I need to speak with Khali. Is she around?"

"She's in her office with Khalil."

"Thanks. I'll head there now."

She nodded, and I made my way back to Khali's office. It was pretty amazing how fast they remodeled the rooms, I was extremely impressed. Not only that, but they had already finished the foundation and shell of the house Ferdinand was giving the kids in the back yard.

I couldn't tell if it was because all the guys here loved Tristan and the kids, or they just had a knack for building. But at this point, it was safe to say they were looking more and more like worker ants each day.

Knock... Knock... Knock...

"Come in."

I opened the door, and Khali immediately lit up upon seeing me.

"Is it time?" She asked, excited.

"Do you honestly think I would waste time knocking if it were?" I asked dryly.

"True... Sorry... What's up?"

"What will you need to have when Tristan goes into labor? I realize that you have the surgical room now, but are there things that we need to have prepared, on the day of?" I asked.

"Yes, surgical room aside... I will need buckets of boiled water. As many towels as you can give me. An incubator for the baby. And all sorts of infant monitoring equipment. I realize this might be short notice, but we assumed we would have it all before now. It's been incredibly difficult to get. He can't have the baby naturally, so we will need to put him under, and surgically remove the baby instead. To that end, I plan to have the most sterile field possible."

"Right. Leave it to me." I winked.

'I won't fail you Khali, and I'll never fail my mate.'
