Chapter 166 - Side Story - 6 - Nightmares and Night Terrors

Gaibe's Point Of View

My current situation was pretty unbelievable. On the one hand, I had been told to stay with Kaleb for as long as he needed... Or, for as long as he wanted. On the other hand, every minute spent here was nerve-wracking, now that Tristan knew I was here.

Kaleb seemed to be in a better mood, now that Tristan was no longer scolding him. But, I couldn't unsee the look in Tristan's eyes as he had told me he'd talk to me later.

Just remembering those eyes made me shudder. I wanted to absorb Kaleb's carefree attitude into my body so bad, but life was so cruel.

We had eaten an awkward breakfast, after which, we had gotten some much needed sleep.

Unfortunately, Tristan's warnings were not unfounded. Kaleb was quite the fitful sleeper, and he had woken me up out of my sleep with a hard knee to the groin.

He was covered in a sheen of cold sweat, and his breathing was heavy and labored. I pushed his sweat dampened bangs out of the way to see his furrowed brows and grimaced face.

I was in a serious amount of pain, but I understood that Kaleb was going through something much worse. The fact that he had just turned 16, only cemented that notion further.

I suddenly remembered what Tristan had said, and softly released my pheromones around Kaleb. His facial features relaxed almost instantly, and he stopped squirming.

I smiled at the innocent face he was currently making, and pulled the blanket over him again. There was no way I could go back to sleep now, so I just laid down and watched over him instead.

I began to wonder about what Kaleb wanted and what he would need going forward. He didn't seem apposed to having his own place, but he also didn't readily accept it either.

I knew next to nothing about his likes or dislikes, but for some reason I wanted to learn about them all.

Coming here on a curious whim had turned out to be the prelude to my ultimate downfall. There was no way I could go back to my old way of life, and forget about Kaleb entirely.

He was a smart and quirky kid, and I enjoyed talking and teasing him. He was worth putting effort into, and the sex was mind blowing to boot. I was willing to give him as much space as he wanted, without disappearing.

As my mind began to churn out all the what ifs, I felt my eyes growing heavy. It seemed that sleep apparently wasn't done with me yet.

I glanced over at Kaleb again, and kissed his forehead. I would release as much of my pheromones as I could, until sleep pulled me under. He deserved to have a good rest for as long as he could, as well.

'After all, it hasn't even been a whole 24 hours yet... Day 1 has yet to even end...'

Kaleb's Point Of View

{Years ago at the Delgaide Facility}

[Okay Kaleb. Today we are going to test your pheromones. Then you can practice servicing your Alpha, Okay?]

[No. Please... I don't want to do this anymore. I don't like it...]

[Well, it's not about what you like. All Omegas need to be perfect Omegas. And you can't become perfect without practice. Your brothers are doing what they have to, now you, as well.]

[ The smell of his pheromones is awful! Don't make me do it!]

[You will hold your tongue and be polite. The director is the only reason you still draw breath. In my opinion, Recessive Omegas like you and Delcain should be put down! So, you will fill this room with your pheromones, and then pleasure him thoroughly. Is that understood?]

[No! Please don't make me do this! Just kill me!]

[That is no longer an option. On your knees, Kaleb.]

[.....]

[Now, Kaleb!]

[.... No....]

〔Kaleb, I heard you were being especially disobedient today. Do you know what I do to disobedient Omegas who don't do as their told?〕

[Ah, Director! Perfect timing.]

〔What were you told to do, Kaleb? You'd best get it done, now.〕

[.....]

"Kaleb! Wake up!"

"C'mon, snap out of it!"

Suddenly, I was hit with a strong wave of pheromones that seemed to pull me from the abyss. My eyes snapped open, and I tried to grasp my surroundings.

"Ugh... that was awful..." I groaned.

"Yeah... you were trembling so hard, I thought you were having a seizure. Are you okay? Sorry if I hurt you..." Gaibe said, pulling me into his arms.

I was scared, angry, sad, and irritated. Tristan had been right on the money, the memories were indeed turning into nightmares, and I was helpless against them.

"Let's take a bath. How's that sound?" Gaibe asked, picking me up before I could even reply.

"Haha. What if I said no. Just let me be sweaty in your arms? What if the nightmare involved water?" I asked with an uneasy chuckle.

Gaibe stopped immediately in his strides and looked at me.

"Is this your cute, adorable, round about way of telling me you wanna talk about it?" He asked, placing his forehead against mine.

"No! I'm just saying, shouldn't you check about things like that before just whisking someone away? Ugh! Y'know what, forget it!" I felt my face heating up in embarrassment.

He wasn't wrong, but he wasn't completely right either. I wanted something to take my mind off of the images, off the sounds, off the memories that just wouldn't die. I squeezed my eyes closed and tried to focus on Gaibe's scent instead.

Suddenly, I felt his lips against mine and opened my eyes wide. He had kissed me in many places today, but my lips had not been one of them. Not to mention, he now had me pressed up against the bathroom door, and was currently trying to deepen said kiss.

"Hahaha! First time?" He chuckled.

'Ugh! So outrageously embarrassing! This sucks!'
