Sylvester's Point Of View
"Boss, is that your hotel?" Rohlander asked, as we were approaching the city limits for Maihzdin.
"Yeah... that's the Ruby... it's casino does less business than the hotel. Not surprising all things considered, but when I built it I was hoping to safely launder money through the casino. I severely underestimated Sîvret's ruling authority and the city's depravity." Ferdinand groaned.
"What's Maihzdin like? It looks a bit... unsavory..." Rohlander asked, looking out the window.
"You've never been to Maihzdin but you came anyway?!" Hoaruhs asked.
"What's so wrong about that?" Rohlander said.
"Haaah... just keep your wits about you, here. And Say nothing..." Hoaruhs said.
"Maihzdin is run solely by Sîvret and his men. In just one year, he got every business to pay him 10%, he disbanded the police force, took possession over all imported and exported goods, and to top it all off he owns every 4 star restaurant. He even owns his own 5 star restaurant, and he's the head Chef." Ferdinand said.
"Whoa he sounds formidable. How did the government just let him rule like this?" Rohlander asked.
"What choice did they have? In the course of a year he got rid of all violent crimes, homelessness, and unemployment. Everyone pays their taxes and the government reaps the rewards." I replied.
"Boss do you run Sayenrio like that?" Rohlander asked.
"Hell no. What a headache." Ferdinand groaned.
"Don't let him fool you Ro, the boss is the Mafia King of StohneGarrdin. Once he got mated, he let Dominic and Zambian watch over it in his stead. That's why you haven't seen them around lately. The boss has a bigger home in StohneGarrdin, but the house in Sayenrio is his family home." Hoaruhs said.
"Yeah, who would have thought a simple bet would have him abandoning his position just to be in love." I chuckled.
"Really Syl? You want to talk about abandoning? What about you Mini Mafia King?" Ferdinand sneered.
"Look Sa'Ryne basically runs itself. I still have people there just in case the citizens need help, but that city had been self sufficient for two years now. They don't need me, and it's so small and quiet... nothing bad ever happens there. I don't own businesses like the rest of you, that's too much work." I replied.
"Mhm... sounds like you dropped everything for love too." Ferdinand replied laughing.
"Ro, do you know who the highest paid people are in Maihzdin?" Hoaruhs asked.
"Um... the chefs? No, the doctors...?" He replied.
"The Omegas. They are also treated much different here. They are respected to a point, but they still sell themselves...They have no doctors." He replied, pointing out the window.
It was true prostitution was a high paying job in Maihzdin. It was rumored that Sîvret's 5-Star restaurant doubled as a sex dungeon. Thinking things over again I couldn't help but worry, a dark sense of dread crawled up my spine. In hindsight it was obvious now, but we just never gave it any thought before.
"Ferdinand, Rohlander, Hoaruhs, while we're here do not mention the kids or Tristan. I... just had a terrible realization." I said.
Looking around outside again there were certainly more Omegas than there used to be. That only solidified my resolve.
"You noticed it too?" Ferdinand asked.
"What is it boss?" Rohlander asked.
"There's no way he didn't make a deal with the Omega facility in Maihzdin. The Omega population has exploded since the last time we were here. And I just told you there's nothing here that isn't already approved by Sîvret." Ferdinand groaned.
"Yeah just stay vigilant an–"
*Screeeeech..... Screeeeeeeeech...*
My words were cut off by the screeching of tires and Ferdinand slamming on the brakes. We were surrounded by blacked out sedans in an instant.
"Red rover, red rover, send Ferdi on over!" We heard Sîvret's voice on a loud speaker from one of the cars yell.
"Lead the way, we were coming to you anyway, Sîvret..." Ferdinand said, leaning out the window.
The cars immediately began to disperse, with two beside us on each side and two in front.
"Sylvester text Tysse and tell them to say nothing. Nothing about the kids, our mate, or why we need medical supplies." Ferdinand whispered.
I nodded and immediately took out my phone to comply. I was more curious to know how he knew we were here, and how they knew we were in these vans no less. It felt like we had a spy in our mists, but that was impossible.
"How did they know we were here?" Rohlander asked, echoing my thoughts.
"That's a damn good question Ro." Hoaruhs replied.
We pulled up to a massive Cathedral like building in the middle of the city. It was beautiful and pristine on the outside. I doubted we could say the same about the inside.
We parked in the designated spots and all filed out of the vans. Tysse, Dahnnie, and Zaire came to stand behind us. Just then my phone chimed.
–We are at The Royal Ruby, where are you?
It was Santiago. I quickly sent him a reply as well.
–With Sîvret. Stay at the hotel until I call for you, Sîvret might be in bed with Maihzdin's Omega facility... Don't mention our mate, the kids, or why we are here to anyone.–
–Understood. Be safe, boss.
"This way Gentlemen..." A huge man with locs said, ushering us into the Cathedral.
We walked behind the man through the double doors and past the other men. Once inside I was momentarily stunned, it was in fact NOT a Cathedral anymore. He had reconstructed it into a damn restaurant. One where he had a throne on an alter. The seat was massive, and the footrest was an Omega woman.
"Ferdinand, it's been what...? 3 years...? You don't call or write? I almost demolished your hotel, just to get your attention y'know." Sîvret said with a shrug.
"Get my attention for what? What's happened now?" Ferdinand asked.
"A business venture of sorts. But the deadline for the deal has long since passed. I'm afraid there's no room for you anymore." Sîvret replied.
"You know I only deal in hotels and casino's." Ferdinand shrugged.
"I know you're lying. But thats neither here nor there. I heard a rumor that you're mated now, is that true?" Sîvret asked with a smirk.
"What?" Ferdinand replied.
"You heard me.... I heard he was as beautiful as the year is long, and can suck a cock like nobody's business." Sîvret hummed.
I could instantly feel my blood boiling, the information he was saying wouldn't come from anyone but another facility, that was evident by the bullshit he was saying.
"I don't know about all that. I have a mate, that's true, but they're quiet and shy to a fault. They also have a kid already so what you say isn't impossible. It just seems a bit far fetched." Ferdinand said cooly.
He was so calm and collected, I was once again reminded why I didn't have a problem letting him call all the shots. He just did things that made you want to follow him.
"Hmm? They already have a kid? That's not what I heard? His name is Tristan right?" Sîvret said with a hard glint in his eyes.
Hearing him say my mate's name was like nails on a chalkboard. It didn't feel right, nor did it sound right. But Ferdinand...
"You seem to be hinting at something Sîv just spit it out. You aren't one for trivial mind games." He said.
"You and the boys raided Delgaide, didn't you? It had Meyhymn's and the psycho twin's trademark all over it." He asked sitting forward.
"Why do you care?" I couldn't help but ask.
Ferdinand shot me a murderous look but I couldn't be bothered. I was getting tired of beating around the bush.
"I just wanted to make sure you weren't coming here to be some kind of liberator too. Our facility is run off trust, honesty, and transparency. It's volunteer only." Sîvret said, standing up.
"Uhm... I'm not sure what you're on about but we just came to visit the Medical Supply Depot. We are building a clinic for Khali and our Depot won't have the materials in time." Ferdinand said cooly.
"For Khali? She's coming to Sayenrio? She turned down all my proposals for a clinic here. I'm jealous..." He said with a glare.
"Well, it's only temporary. We need her to train our doctors, and then she's heading back to StohneGarrdin." Ferdinand lied.
"Well the deal is, I'll give you what you need, but if I ever need medical assistance Khali will handle it." Sîvret said.
"Deal." Ferdinand replied.
"You got a list or do you know what you need?" He asked.
Ferdinand pulled out the list and handed it over to a man standing to our left. The man handed it to Sîvret and he glanced over it.
"Hush, handle this. See to it they get everything they need. Take Amyr, Ivan, Shadie, Jacob, and Kyier with you and load up the vans." He said to the man standing to his right.
The man nodded and glanced at a few men who headed off with him.
'So... Hush isn't just a nickname...? The man literally doesn't speak?!"
"Well while you wait, come join me let's talk more. I've missed you old friend, and we have much to discuss." Sîvret said, walking up to Ferdinand and placing an arm around his shoulder.
"You gonna cook for us?" Ferdinand teased.
"Not this time, if you make a formal appointment with your mate then maybe I'll oblige and entertain you."
"Fair enough..." Ferdinand replied.
I couldn't be certain, but my internal clock was telling me we were running out of time. Even from this distance I could feel Tristan's body calling for me.
'Well.... This sucks....'
