Maruim looked at Sol in suspicion.
"Sigh~ I atleast wanted you to be a second-stage warrior before you took the test, but since you have the gall to show off and cause trouble for yourself then…."
"Hey!! Didn't you hear me? I said come outside!" The voice from earlier interrupted Maruim.
"Okay I'm coming!!" Maruim shouted back in response.
Sol felt a little unnerved by the sudden visit of the city official and even had a feeling that it was related to that incident a few weeks ago.
'I've only became a warrior for a week weeks and I can't have peace?'
Sol stretched his aching body while he stood up and adjusted his eyes to the bright ray that strew in from the window.
But just as he was stretching Maruim abruptly grabbed his wrist, using his iron clad grip as strong as the bite force of a snapping turtle.
"You dare to delay the city official?"
He pulled Sol by the wrist dragging him to the main area of the forge.
"Ah so it's you respected officer Lin jun, what brings you to my humble abode."
Maruim gave him a warm smile with a hint of nostalgia and slightly bowed.
"It's nothing too troublesome, I'm looking for a person named Sol Garvento and I've heard he's been spotted around here recently."
Lin jun looked behind Maruim, his gaze landing on Sol.
"I presume that's him?" He pointed where Sol was sitting.
"You're as insightful as always Mr Lin that's indeed him, Sol garvento, A precious disciple I accepted recently."
"A disciple?"He raised an eyebrow, Maruim didn't look too old.
A moment later he dawned a look of realisation.
"Has your life force been hollowed out by those women in the red light district? Don't say I didn't warn you the last time we met." Lin jun laughed out loud after he finished speaking, disturbing the big eared crows that hibernated in across various corners of the city.
Maruim sighed helplessly.
"I've realised it's better to accept a disciple now and pass on my inheritance…medicine can't take me further anymore, my path as a warrior is finished…if only I wasn't so…." Maruim's voice got lighter and lighter as he spoke
"If you're bad at something you abandon it immediately , instead of wasting precious time and resources."
Lin jun scolded, his eyes full of an anger and an inexplicable light similar to disappointment?
"You've completely wasted the talent that was bestowed upon you; A few years ago your vitality was vigorous like a blazing furnace but now it's like a flickering candle light.
I bet you can't exert as much strength as a fifth stage warrior now."
"Strenght isn't anything you know, what's the point of practicing if you can't enjoy yourself anymore."
Maruim said unconvinced.
"Sigh ~ it seems like you're still the stupid little boy from back then."
'Little boy?!' Sol reeled with shock.
Maruim, a little boy?
That statement was very surprising to Sol.
To be able to call Maruim little boy this man had to be atleast twenty years older than him and Maruim was in his late forties.
So that meant this young looking man with an unpredictable mood was atleast seventy years old.
"Hey what about you?! Do you think in the same way as your master? Because if so it's best to give up now, not everyone can pass the warrior examination."Lin jun suddenly shifted his gaze to sol.
"What?" Sol replied instinctively, breaking out of his daze.
"Do you want to repeat myself?"
"No … elder? I was just too immersed in the art of body refinement so I forgot to pay attention, I always feel like if I don't put all my effort into practicing I'll fall into endless regrets when I fail." Sol's replied earnestly.
Lin jun snorted.
"Fail at what?"
A lost gaze appeared on Sol's face.
"I don't know, it's just a feeling in my heart."
Of course not, but his grand goal of immortality can't be mentioned to others easily.
"Okay, okay, stop embarrassing my disciple, don't you have a mission to compete? Even though you were my master in the past you can't come here and spread salt on my old wounds."Maruim stood in-between Sol and lin Jun and interrupted.
"Hmph, you think I would be willing to see a waste like you again if this didn't have something to do with my mission?
Just give me your disciple Sol and I'll be on my way."
Hearing that Maruim couldn't refute, Judging from the past twenty years, Li jun truly wouldn't have come to visit him had it not been for the mission he was assigned.
"You! Did you not hear? Follow me!"
Sol did not move but only glanced slightly at Maruim.
"You can go, it's not as if we can stop the orders of the city hall."
"If you say so."Sol paused for a moment before he replied.
"'if he said so' whether he said so or not you're still gonna come with me "Lin jun sneered and turned around.
Sol quickly followed after him, not daring to lag behind.
After a while of following Lin jun Sol noticed the emotions that were on his face gradually melted away like snow on a candle light.
No it wasn't correct to say it melted away but instead it was hidden and masked by other emotions.
The arrogant and disdainful warrior from before had been replaced with a serious young man whom harboured a faint sense of ambition.
A stunning change no doubt but Sol was more curious about which one of the two was the true face of Lin jun.
Logic says the face from earlier should be his true face since from what he deduced Maruim was once a person deeply valued by him so his words of disappointment should have come from his heart.
But who could really know for sure.
He couldn't keep thinking about it, interesting people like this would not be in shortage in the world of warriors, he was more interested in his approaching promotion into the the first stage of a warrior.
