"We caught him! We caught the vigilante, everyone prepare to take the target down"
Oh perfect,that's what was missing. This day can't get any worse.
"That's right you so called hero. We caught you,You can't escape now."
Damn itt! I can't run away, but I also can't fight them beacuse I might arrive late to rescue Hikari's child. Rescuing the citizens is my main responsibility. I'll just flee away,save the child and hide him. Then I'll take those guys down. But what if I'll get shot. I'm still a human,either with powers or not. I'll basically fall in their trap. Fine,If that's how they want it to be. I'll take the risk.
Ryu then sighs and falls on his knees,with his hands behind his back.
"That's right, just give up and turn yourself in. I gotta say kid, You made the right choice. There's no way that you could've dodge all the bullets we were about to fire. We'll send you to Master Saito, maybe he will have mercy on you"
The villains slowly start to approach Ryu.
These guys are so stupid,they actually thought that I'd give up that easily. I gotta get closer and closer to Saito so I can take him down,and I can't just waste time! Why am I even overthinking ? They're small fries compared to even yakuzas, And I killed Yakuzas in my life. I wonder if my old bastard was a yakuza. Well who cares,I gotta act quick and take these guys down.
With that said,as the bad guys are slowly approaching Ryu. He then slowly tries to create a blade by using magic.
Ryu:"Hanzoku..." Out of thin air,Ryu grabs the blade and starts swinging it towards the bad guys. "How do you like this? Do you still wanna capture me huh?"
"EVERYBODY,SHOOT THE TARGET! PREPARE TO FIRE.....NOW!"
After those words, tens or even hundreds of bullets fired towards the target. One after another,with no stops.
Damn it,I can't dodge all of them for that long. If I keep doing this I might get shot. I gotta vanish.
Ryu then silently dissapears,he summoned a clone as a decoy so he can escape the trap. He then distances himself from the villains and starts looking for the boy.
"I gotta find the boy quick" he says,but after a a short time of running. Ryu's left leg starts to weaken and become heavy. Apparently he still managed to get shot by one of the bad guys."No no no no no,not noww.Please workk,just for a little bit longer, I can't heal either because it'll take me a while to close the wound."
He then starts slowing down bit by bit.
Ryu, always unstoppable. The undefeated Ryu,for the first time. Was feeling panicked of losing. He then started limping on foot, slow and easy, trying to not put a lot of pressure on his wounded leg.
"These guys are a joke,why am I even experiencing this. I used to beat these guys easily,Am I getting rusty now? No that can't be. Wait,maybe something is wrong with my powers. Maybe a disfunction,I don't even know everything about my powers,I haven't discovered much. And why am I wasting time on talking with myself When I should look for the boy!"
Ryu then takes a deep breath and calls Ayumi while running through alley's looking for the kid.
Ayumi's pov
Ayumi was watching the news while filling herself with a bag of crisps, killing some time until Ryu will come back.
"Hmmm,Akira look,the police found a dead body on Shenkhai street,near the alley"
As soon as Akira heard Ayumi she stopped humming."Creepy... We deal with those things daily anyways,well nightly but yeah. You get the idea"
Ayumi , biting her nails in stress softly replied "I hope Ryu is gonna be alright."
A wide smirk sets on Akira's face as she heard those words. "So you do like him!!"
Caught by surprise,Ayumi panicks and starts exaggerating. "I-I-It's NOT LIKE THAT!"
"Sure little sister,suree. You can tell your little sister anything. I'll always be here to help you. Either with youe personal life or love life. That's what family is for."
Ayumi's cheeks then start turning into a soft pale red. Remarking that she was blushing
"Yeah, Family.. Besides,why would you even ask that!"
Akira then starts rubbing her forehead "You knew I'd ask you that anyways,I heard what you said so of course I'm curious to know if my little sister finds little Ryu attractive"
"B-BUT IT'S NOT LIKE THAT! ME AND RYU ARE JUST -"
A loud buzzing interrupted Akira and Ayumi's conversation, turns out that the buzzing came from a mobile phone"
Akira:"You should answer sissy" she then whispers teasingly "It's your lover~"
Ayumi then quickly grabs the phone and presses the answer button
On phone
Ayumi: "Hello?"
Ryu: "AYUMI QUICK I NEED YOUR HELP! I NEED YOU TO MEET ME IN SHENKHAI STREET. ON THE NORTHSIDE BESIDE THE HEN ALLEY"
Ayumi:"Is everything alright?"
Ryu:"YES,I JUST NEED YOU AND AKIRA TO HELP ME FIND A BOY.
Ayumi:"Sure I guess... Give us some details so we can find him quicker."
Ryu:"Well, by matching him with his dad I'd say he has light hair,but not too light. But also a bit dark but not too dark"
Ayumi:"So blonde? What about his size?
Ryu:"He's probably around my size,I don't know I didn't even get to see the boy,And his age is probably between twelve and sixteen"
Ayumi:"So we will basically go through alley's in Shenkhai city to find a boy that we have no idea how he even looks like?
Ryu:"Yes, I know it's crazy. But I need your help!"
Ayumi:"Ryu you sound panicked,you sure you're alright?"
Ryu:"Yes Ayumi, don't worry. Just do what I asked you,please."
Ayumi:"alright..."
Ryu:"Thank you-"
A loud bang then caught Ryu, one of the minions Ryu held back managed to follow him and keep up with his flow.
"Tic-Tic-Tic Phantom. That's the sound of your time running out" He then starts laughing desperately.
"Fu-" Ryu ends the calm "Ughhh I can't I can't with you guys. You're actually so dead, I'm actually so pissed that I'd fucking torture you by now,but you're lucky I'm in a hurry so all you're getting is a punishment."
Ryu then throws a dagger at the minion,aiming specifically for his hand. As the danger pierced the guy's hand,Ryu proceeded to use gravity control to push rhe guy on the ground, making the dagger pierce the concrete as well. Making the minion unable to escape that easily
"Now I'm not done with you,just watch until I get back. And make you feel yourself at home because you won't be seeing it ever again."
Minion:"Fuuuuck!"
After running for a while,Ryu gets to the end of the alley. As he gets closer,he notices a body on the ground. "Please tell me I got here on time" Ryu then quickly runs to the body and checks the heartbeats "Phew, he's alive" Ryu then takes a deep breath, feeling more relieved that he was able to keep his word.
"It's okay kid, I'll get you out of here" He then grabs the kid and carries him on his back .
"Well well,Look what we have here" A crowd of voices and mutters interrupt Ryu.
Ryu:"Ah shit,now is not the time for this! Luck is not with me today ,at all!"
Ryu then gets up and prepares to attack the gangsters.
"What's the matter Phantom? You're slowing down aren't cha?" The gangster said, trying to mock him.
"I may be slowing down but I can still win against small fries like you."
"We'll see about that kiddo, Can't you just accept the fact that messing with criminals won't do yourself any good?"
"You call yourself criminals?" Ryu then burst out laughing.
"You? Criminals? I can't even call you a thug. You guys are nothing but a bunch of gangster wannabes. But fine,if that's what you want. I will treat you like a criminal, don't blame me after.
One of the gangster gets confused."After what?"
A wide smirk then appears on Ryu's face. "After I'll finish mutilating you,until you beg me to stop."
Ryu then summons a dark sword, and mysterious characters we're engraved on the blade.
Hmm,there is a name on the sword,what could that mean? I can barely read it as well,the drawing looks so pale that It's barely visible,the sword must've been used by the past generations..
Ryu then glances at the name and tries to pronounce it.
"Ze-Ry-Ko... ZERYKO!"
Suddenly A dark pressurising aurs surrounded Ryu.
The gangsters felt the aura from where they were,and the presence made them unable to stand properly.
"It's still unstable because I just found out about it, I'll get used to ut overtime. Now I need to focus on them."
Ryu then dashes towards his enemies, slitting their throat gently. Not painful so they won't suffer but also not really gently because they will get injured instead of dying.
"I wish there was a better way to do this,I can't kill someone. It's too cruel,but that's how life works I guess.."
Ryu then started to get emotional, feeling bad for his victims. Almost feeling regret and remorse.
Even if Ryu felt that way,the gangsters took that as an opportunity to injure him. As they all start jumping him. One gangster going for his legs, another for his hands and one ir two aiming their guns at him.
"Not so courageous now Phantom are ya?"
One of the gangsters then proceeds to shoot Ryu. He quickly,with no wasting time pulls the trigger. Ryu,unable to move because of his inexperience im fighting, not being aware of his power. Of his abilities' true powers. Gets shot,right in the chest.
The gangsters then drop Ryu in the ground and walk away from the body. "Leave him guys, he's a goner anyways. There's no way he'd survive that" "Let's get the hell out of here before the police will catch us"
The minions then leave the alley. On the other hand,Ryu is facing the ground, coughing blood and breathing slowly "I can't die yet. Not now,not today! Just please God give me just a little bit more strength so I can get this boy to safety, that's all I'm asking you." He then tries to get up and head to tge boy. As he does that,he slowly grabbed the boy and started carrying him.
Oh fuck... I can't even hear properly,I can barely walk.. or breathe. I'll die for sure. And I can't heal either because it will take long. Why am I so weak,I thought I got reincarnated for a reason. Not to live a new life but to protect everyone by the guy that ended my life. I was chosen. So why me,I tried my best to do good only. And I will still end up.
Maybe I am not good enough.
Ryu then slowly loses consciousness and falls down with the boy.
A figure then approaches Ryu and supports him, so he won't fall down
"You are good enough"
Ryu confused ,tries his best to take a glance at the figure but all he could see was blurry images.
"Let's get you home now Ryu."
"Y-yeah"
