Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Back to the Island

Zurin was knocked out cold and was just lying on the ground in dragon form with lightning sparks flying occasionally from his face. It was a decisive win yet I felt nothing. An emptiness that could not be explained. I believed I was justified but this was probably a mistake. I had gone too far but I did not regret a single thing. I reverted back to human form and went back to the dragon's castle. "Chrono! What did you do to Zurin?" Zari asked. She was frantic about her brother but did not have the courage to see it for herself. "Zurin is fine. I just hit him a little harder than I expected." I answered. "Chrono you bastard. I hope you die. I hate you." Zari said with tears streaming down her face. I was not going to try and soothe her to calm down that was their mess to deal with. I looked at her and began to walk away to get the spiders, Luton and Roy so that we can head to my home town back in Capel. "Chrono! You bastard. I will come for you and hurt your family." Zari declared. That statement pissed me off. Like really pissed me off. You are going to come for my family? Fine then. I stopped moving and looked at her with my eyes turning pure white. The marks on my body were now glowing brighter than they had before. I smiled and looked at Zari. "You are going to come after my family. Well that's a problem. Do you think you can stop me if I were to eradicate every dragon on this mountain?" I asked. The mood became tense and the bloodlust I let out was so severe that everyone was frozen in place. My body turned into a humanoid dragon form subconsciously. This was not something I had done before and I came t a conclusion that my desire to utilize my entire strength in this confined space coupled with turning to a new dragon species was the reason for the change. I was three meters tall in human form but with scales instead of skin, horns grew from my head and a tail that was similar in shape to my normal appearance. Zari did not let down and turned parts of her body to dragon form. She had claws from her hands and horns on her body. She could not transform her whole body like I did. Turning into a full dragon was also out of the question because she could burry dragon kids who were not immune if the mountain collapsed on them. Her subordinates also joined her and took a combat position. "If you ae going to come after my family, there is no use in keeping you alive." I said as I lunged forward using lightning speed. I caught Zari's neck with my arm and lifted her up. She struggled to free herself but that was not possible. Her subordinates had been fixed in position unable to move due to my gravity magic. Just as I was about to crush her neck, someone intervened. It was Zora, he was supposed to be far away on assignment duties. I glanced over and saw him lending his shoulder to his older brother who had changed back to human form. Zurin was conscious but weak and could only whisper. "Forget that fool. Nobody is going to come after your family." Zurin mumbled. They knew what was going on? How did they? Come to think of it, Zari did scream about coming to hurt my family. Zari still had that defiant look in her eyes which I had to crush. She needed to understand the consequences of uttering such words. Threatening to come and hurt my family? I was not going to let that go. "Your two brothers are here. I should start with them and then come to you and finally every fire dragon in existence." I declared with a stoic face. Everyone around was now on edge. I moved my right arm towards Zora and Zurin and that was all it took for Zari to break. "No don't do that Chrono. I will never come near your family." Zari struggled to say as she was chocking. I let her down and removed gravity magic which was preventing her subordinates from moving. I smiled at her and declared, "If you ever make that threat a reality then forget The Hydra and the generals or whomever else is there. I will personally burn this world starting and ending with the entirety of your kind." Zari dropped her head and began cussing me out once again. "Hypocrite. Why did you ham my brother then? Why are you acting like families are off limits now?" Zari continued. "Shut your mouth. I was the one who asked him to use his full strength. He did not attack me even once during the first round which was embarrassing. We are also going to spar again soon in 20 days." Zurin said. The mood was now filled with confusion. "He didn't come t kill te emperor?" "The emperor asked to be beaten?" mummers were heard. Kill the emperor? Why would I do that? Zari calmed down after hearing this. I offered a handshake to her while muttering "I understand. Family comes first." She bypassed my hand and opted for a hug. "I guess we both overreacted." She said. I didn't think that was true, I was dead serious about razing the whole dragon family if they attacked mine. I did not say this though, this was an atmosphere of reconciliation. We went back to a lounge area where we acted like we did not try to kill each other a few minutes before. Zora gave his own experience when dealing with the spiders in the south in a continent covered with icy tundra. The spiders had different abilities than the ones we were dealing with. Instead of actively hunting for prey, the spiders made traps using webs and pitfalls to capture their prey. They did not engage with targets on sight but chose to walk away however, incase their target was trapped in their various contraptions, they would hound you like a park of hungry wolves. Spiders using intelligence to hunt their prey how fascinating. We talked more about our own experiences and for the first time shared my story about the gods and goddess with Zurin and Zari. "You were defeated by your own clone?" Zurin asked. It is likely that he considered me invincible due to my prior performance but I was not too confident in meeting FC at this level. "Fruit of Contradiction you say. I have never heard anything like that. Maybe some research later will give me answers." Zora said. Despite being brothers, this two were nothing alike. One focused on knowledge while the other o brawn which formed a very balanced leadership within the dragons. I then introduced Roy to them who at this point was so shaken up that he could not talk. He just bowed his head and nodded after mentioning his name. We talked a little more until dawn where I began my journey to leave to our house at the capital with Roy, Luton and The spiders.I left early in the morning after Zora promised to come by and have a chat once he discovered more about the fruit of Contradiction. Roy was not very talkative and once we arrived, I asked one of the servants at the manor to show him to a guest room. He retired to bed no doubt feeling tired after having such an exhausting and eventful day. I placed the spiders on the compound after informing the various servants not to go near them. I placed Luton in another room and asked that he was monitored. I went to freshen up and get prepared to head to the castle once it was midmorning. As I was relaxing, I heard a familiar voice. "Giant kid. So you are back." Nathan said. Nathan had been my guardian since childhood and was really instrumental in my earlier projects successes. I looked at the guy and smiled at him. "Is that your new look? You resemble a caveman." I teased. He had grown his beard long unlike his usual practice. "Are you the one to talk? Your hair is so white that you resemble my late grandfather. Haha." Nathan replied. We had a good laugh and began to talk about things. Apparently the head maid had informed him that the White Eagle was back and he came to check up on me. I took him to the back of the house where the spiders were located. "Holy cow. This spiders are so big." Nathan exclaimed. This was his reaction to seeing the spiders that I had tightly bound using metal. The various servants were also there at a safe distance looking at spiders with disgust. I explained in detail the abilities of the different spiders to Nathan who was listening attentively. "You defeated at least 100,000 of this things on another continent? They are also going to come here?" Nathan asked in quick succession.
