Anastasia knocked gently on Jamie's office door, and his cold voice called out, "Come in!"
She entered, smiling, and Jamie looked up from his desk. His cold expression dropped, and his eyes crinkled at the corners as he took his eyes off his task and let out a long breath.
He visibly needed her comfort.
Anastasia closed the door behind her and walked over to Jamie's desk. She took in the sight of him.
He looked composed, but she knew him well enough to notice the faint furrow between his brows and the slight tightness around his eyes.
"I thought a cup of coffee would help," she said, her voice gentle, as she stretched out her hand, showing him the coffee she brought for him.
Jamie leaned back in his chair, his smile still in place, but his eyes betraying him, as they exposed a hint of worry. "It would help. Just dealing with some...stuff."
