Chapter 35 - The God's Omen

Drake woke with a start, drenched in sweat and gasping for breath. The remnants of the dream clung to him like a shroud—visions of fire consuming everything in its path, shadows dancing in the flames, and a voice echoing through the inferno: "Awaken the Eternal Flame."

He quickly dressed and rushed to find Mira, who was already awake and pacing in the dim light of their refuge. Her concern was evident. "You look haunted, Drake. Another dream?"

"Worse," he replied, running a hand through his tousled hair. "The god of wisdom visited me. He warned me about the Eternal Flame—an ancient force that could bring destruction if unleashed."

Mira's expression darkened. "But the Flame was imprisoned. How could it break free now?"

"I don't know," Drake admitted. "But we must seek answers. The gods have a way of keeping secrets, and we need to uncover them before it's too late."

As the two made their way through the refuge, gathering their allies, Drake felt a sense of urgency that he couldn't shake. The weight of destiny pressed heavily upon him, and he knew time was slipping away.

When they reached the central hall, the atmosphere shifted. Tyr, Elyra, and the remaining Demon Officers stood ready, their expressions a mix of determination and dread.

Drake addressed the group, his voice steady. "The gods have warned me that the Eternal Flame is stirring. We must seek out ancient knowledge if we hope to understand this threat."

Elyra stepped forward, her eyes glinting with conviction. "There is an ancient temple known as the Temple of the Ancients. It is said to house relics and texts that may provide insight into the Flame's origins. But it's located deep in the Cradle of Shadows, a treacherous land filled with powerful foes."

Tyr crossed his arms, skepticism flickering in his gaze. "We have faced danger before, but this is different. What if we're walking into a trap?"

Drake felt a surge of determination. "If we do nothing, we risk losing everything. I won't stand by while the Eternal Flame threatens our world. We need to move quickly."

After a brief deliberation, the group agreed to embark on the perilous journey to the temple. As they gathered their supplies and prepared for departure, Drake couldn't shake the feeling that the flames of destiny were drawing closer, urging him to take action.
