This time,I was focused until the food was all done.
Once I was done and cleaning up ,I heard the sound of a car pull into the driveway and realized that he was back.
He came in looking so tired and as I saw him walk straight in headed for his room,I called out to him.
"Dmitri,you should come eat I made something"
That stopped him in his tracks but he didn't say a word and just complied.
He sat down and started eating,I watched as surprise took over his features after the first bite and he masked it quickly with indifference.
He continued eating quietly,I stood up to pour some wine for him favouring my good arm but that backfired because my arm shook and his attention was drawn to it.
"What happened to you"he asked as he roughly jerked my bad arm toward him
"What happened to your arm"he repeated in that quiet voice which hid the undertone of anger and menace.
