The first rays of sunlight, peeking through the gap in the curtains, painted stripes across Lyse's face. She stirred, a soft smile gracing her lips as she nestled closer to Levi. He was still asleep, his arm draped possessively across her waist, his face buried in her hair. The memory of the night before, a tapestry woven with passion and tenderness, warmed her from the inside out.
Levi's eyes fluttered open, a slow, languid smile spreading across his face as he met her gaze.
"Morning, beautiful." he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep. He tightened his hold on her, pulling her closer until their bodies were flush against each other. "Or, should I say, glorious morning?"
Lyse giggled, her fingers tracing the line of his jaw.
"It certainly was," she agreed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
