Chapter 83 - 82. A Low-key Wedding

'Tch, What is he up to that he's making a line for me not to cross?' Jayden asked himself partaking to Zachary's actions.

"Pfft seems like your in a little trouble Jayden." Target said as Jayden sigh. "You can see that right? How are things going with Halix?" Jayden asked as Target smiles fade away as she blushed.

"I see things are getting good between the two of you." He said as Target slowly nodded.

Target and Halix's Date was simple yet heart warming.

Target fiddled with the hem of her jacket as she waited at the café. She wasn't sure why she agreed to this dating wasn't exactly her thing but something about Halix intrigued her.

When he walked in, a confident grin on his face, she couldn't help but sit up straighter.

Halix was effortlessly cool, from his sleek leather jacket to the way he ran a hand through his slightly messy hair. "Sorry, did I keep you waiting?" he asked, his voice smooth but casual.

After all this guy standing in front of her is a well respected man in the Navy. Admiral Halix.

"Not really," Target replied, trying to sound equally unbothered, though her heart thudded annoyingly in her chest.

Their conversation flowed easily. Halix had this way of turning even the most mundane topics into something interesting. He talked about his love for stargazing and the adrenaline rush of late-night drives, his eyes lighting up with passion. Target found herself leaning in, her usual guarded demeanor slowly melting.

They never had this type of conversation after all Halix is someone that Target hates especially that he's a cruel person without knowing any pity.

But right now the Halix she see's is a different person now.

Then came the moment that caught her off guard. As they left the café, a stray cat darted onto the street, and Halix, without hesitation, stepped into traffic to shoo it to safety. It wasn't just the act itself but the way he shrugged it off, as if it was nothing.

"That was dangerous," Target muttered, though her voice lacked its usual edge.

Halix grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. "Couldn't let the little guy get hurt, right?"

For the first time in a long while, Target felt a flutter she couldn't ignore. Cool, kind, and fearless this guy might just be trouble, and for once, she didn't mind.

Target smiled as she pat at Jayden's shoulder. "Everyone would fall for you since your a kind hearted person. Yet because you are so dedicated to Wendy on your entire life it make it heard to believe that you finally fall for someone as Zackeeyah. Including the fact that she resembles Wendy in her teenage years." Target explained as Jayden knew about it.

He missed Wendy on her teenage years where she would glare at Jayden for messing up with her and even though she sleeps in the entire morning, She ended up getting high grades like some genius.

"But Wendy is already happy with boss now. They are also having a third child, It's a good thing that your reconsidering moving forward but it won't be that easy for you. After all this is Wendy's daughter were talking about." Target said as Jayden nodded.

"Knight successfully retrieve Anastasia from the Bandit's and Halix immediately wipe everything out with the help of the Navy's." Target started as Jasmin went to see Zade and Wendy to report Anastasia's situation yet she saw Aaron standing on the door as she bow down her head.

"I came to report about Anastasia's situation." She started as Aaron looked into her eyes. "The poison that she got injected with also holds hallucinations. She's been dreaming about something and-" Aaron didn't let her finished.

"Is it contagious? Is she in critical state? Is she dying?" He asked as Jasmin shake her head. "Then there isn't anything to report to Zade. As long as the Falcon Eyes is alive then that's all he need to hear." Aaron said coldly as Jasmin sigh.

"The hallucination will hurt her." She said. "What are you talking about?" He asked. "All this time she's been dreaming about you, I don't know what she dreamed about but because of the strong drug in her body this made her brain think that what she actually did in her imagination is the reality. It will lead her to disappointment knowing none of what happened in her imagination happened in reality." Jasmin explained as she looked firm on Aaron.

"After all your getting married with Maria Mary Emerie." She added as Aaron know what she meant by this.

Everything that happened was all part of Anastasia's Hallucinations after she got hit by the poison she lost consciousness.

The twins arrived at Steel's mansion and asked for help since Anastasia is in danger. Luckily Zade called Knight, Target and Halix to attend Aaron's wedding and they all gathered in Steel's mansion.

Knight and Halix was the one who saved Anastasia and it was lucky enough that they just took her as hostage and didn't do anything horrible on her body yet she is still influenced by the drug.

"If the Hallucination come to her senses then it would be a severe damage on her mental health." Jasmin said as Aaron stared at her.

"Can't you do something about it?" He asked as Jasmin smiled. "I'm a surgeon, I am not a psychologist to handle something about mentality." She said as she left Aaron on the hallway.

Jasmin sigh as she light her cigarette.

"Hey..." Jayden called as Jasmin smiled. "Hey," she said as Jayden sit down beside her.

The next morning it was Aaron and Mary's wedding and it was just a low-key one.

Steel smiled seeing Mary on a wedding dress. "This is the dream that I once have but seeing you happy Mary makes me happy too. Please be happy this time." He said as Mary nodded.

Wendy was at the corner of the room admiring Mary on her wedding dress.

"Let me hug you..." She started as Mary did so. Wendy teared up a little as she smiled happily for her.

"Finally your getting married," Wendy said as Mary smiled.

In Steel's Mansion Garden was adorned with cascading white roses, golden fairy lights, and an aisle lined with petals that glimmered under the gentle afternoon sun.

The elegant guests murmured softly as the string quartet played a serene melody. At the altar, Aaron stood tall in a classic black suit, his expression calm but affectionate as he awaited Mary.

Mary emerged moments later, glowing in a lace-trimmed gown that flowed like a gentle breeze. Her veil shimmered under the sunlight, and as she reached the altar, Aaron's eyes softened, a smile spreading across his face.

From the shadows of the garden, Anastasia watched silently. She was pale, her movements slow but determined as she leaned on her cane for support. Her bandages peeked out from beneath her loose, pale blue dress. Every step she took felt heavier as she approached a discreet spot behind the gathered guests.

Jasmin was there to help assist her to the Garden since she was determined to see Aaron's wedding herself.

Her breath hitched as the ceremony began. This wasn't a dream. Aaron was truly marrying Mary. The fragments of her dreams, the fleeting touches, the imagined smiles, the love she thought they shared, shattered like fragile glass.

The officiant gestured toward Aaron, who took a deep breath and turned to Mary, his voice steady yet emotional.

"Mary, from the moment I met you, I knew there was something different about you. You pissed me off yet your something that pushed me to become better. Your kindness, your unwavering strength, and your love have been my anchor. Today, I promise to be your partner, your protector, and your greatest admirer. I vow to face life's challenges by your side and to cherish every moment we have together. You are my heart, my home, and my forever."

Tears glistened in Mary's eyes as she smiled and began her vow.

"Aaron, you've taught me what it means to love unconditionally. You've been my safe haven and my greatest adventure all at once. I promise to honor, cherish, and stand by you, even when life feels uncertain. Together, we'll create a life full of joy, trust, and love. You are my beginning and my end."

Anastasia's chest tightened as she watched them exchange rings, their love radiating like the soft golden glow of the sunset. Her fingers trembled as she clutched her side, her bandaged wound reminding her of her fragility not just physically, but emotionally.

She whispered to herself, her voice barely audible, "It was all just a dream. Nothing more."

She said to herself as Aaron liking her back and asking her for marriage was all a dream after all.

Her vision blurred as tears fell, but she didn't look away. She wanted to see it, to feel the reality she had woken up to, no matter how much it hurt. And when the officiant announced, "You may now kiss the bride," and Aaron leaned in to kiss Mary, Anastasia felt the finality of it all.

As the guests erupted into applause, Anastasia turned and limped away quietly, unnoticed amidst the cheers and joy.

The garden's lights and laughter faded into the distance as she disappeared into the shadows, her heart heavy but resolute.

This was reality, and no matter how painful, she knew she had to let him go.
