Chapter 15 - Chapter 3: Waiting and Waking

I sat up in a pool of cool sweat with shaky hands and numb feet. A tingle sliding up my spine like a squirrel climbing a tree. Waiting in one place for a couple seconds before continuing up. Just to climb down and come back. Sitting up and breathing so heavily that I could almost see it. My eyes shaking at the moon mocks. His eyes bright with glee and a mocking chuckle as I looked out the window to see his face. Crooked and sideways.

The dark cloudless sky filled with stars covered by the polluted air of New York. Making a dark sheet over the morning light coming over the horizon. I could barely move as I struggled to pull my legs off the bed that could barely bare to sit in. I thought I had him.

I stood up shakily walking down the hall to the bathroom. The lights are on in the bathroom. The doors locked. I looked around again. The walls are wooden and pictures of me and my parents' happy font buried the wood grain. Littering the wall with fake smiles and memories I've blocked out.

I continued down the hall to the Kitchen. I'm tired of waiting. I'm just going to wash my face off with some water.

I looked at the orangish walls. Al's favourite colour. Crap, not Al, I need to get that out of my head. As I splashed water on my face. I shivered in my tank top and shorts. I don't really like wearing normal pants. Shorts are just more comfortable.

Water dripped down my face and to the floor as I looked into the covered window. My gloomy outlook reflected a smile as I saw Al flash and I swung around. Nobody. I'm alone in my kitchen, Right? Right? I went back to splashing my face a couple more times before turning off the water and walking over to the coffee machine. Putting in a pod. I just want some black coffee. I turned it on and hummed softly to myself whilst it brewed some coffee. Watching the dark coffee slowly build in the cup as it finishes and I bring the lava hot liquid to my lips. Setting it down as I yelp and fan my tongue.

"Ah, Crap. Hot," I yelped, as I stuck my tongue out. That was hot. I shouldn't have done that. Al would have killed me if he saw that.
