Isaiah James was considered your average 15 year old. Playing video games, dreaming about dating the popular girl at his high school and overall just living the life of a teenager.Â
As his alarm clock blared, Isaiah woke up groaning and got out of his bed groggily. "Here goes another day of the worst thing humanity ever invented, school. Shit, I hope Thomas decides not to beat the crap out of me today." He muttered as he walked out to the living room, the smell of sizzling bacon engulfing the area. "Hey sweetie, how was your sleep?" A loving voice called out to him. His mother, Janice was the light of his world. His father walked out of their lives as soon as he was born, and Janice had to work two jobs just to support her and Isaiah. It didn't help that Isaiah was not the most easiest kid to raise and he often got in trouble for standing up to bullies back in his middle school. "It was good, mom. Those sleeping pills seem to be working." Isaiah replied as his mother finished cooking breakfast and putting the plates on the table. Both of them sat down and ate in silence before Janice finally said something, her voice foreboding. "Sweetie, I need to tell you something about your fath-" Before she could utter another another word, a knock would be heard at the door. "Come in!" Janice yelled as the door opened, revealing a old looking man with a pot belly and receding grey hair. "Larry? What are you doing here?" Janice asked him as Larry hugged her warmly. "Why, can't I see my favorite nephew?" Isaiah grumbled internally. Larry was his uncle who moved down their block earlier this year. He was considered an awfully merry type and he always saw Isaiah as his favorite nephew even though he doesn't have any other ones. Even though he thought Larry was a pretty nice guy, he had a habit of being very annoying to the teenager. Larry looked at him and gave him a bear hug Isaiah desperately tried to break out of. "You've grown so much! Soon you're gonna be taller then this old man." Isaiah scoffed. He was already taller than Larry, but he won't tell him that. Larry and Janice chatted before a little bit before Larry had to go hunting with his buddies and Isaiah to school. As Janice sent him off on the school bus, she sighed. "I will have to tell him the truth about his origins eventually..." She muttered to herself as she went back inside the house. Unbeknownst to both her and Isaiah, a figure in the shadows was watching them closely, it's eyes focused. "It is almost time..."Â
