Noah looked at the hat in confusion as it suddenly made a sound:
"Hic~"
The wide-open maw of the hat released a puff of blue magical mist, producing a noise similar to a hiccup.
"Did it overeat?"
The recent behavior of the magical hat, now limply hanging in his hand, made him think. He gently touched its brim, and the hat released a faint pulse of magical energy, as if greeting him. Being a creation of the system, Rabadon's Deathcap couldn't display hostility toward its owner.
"Maybe it was just hungry? And now that it's full, it's calm?" he mused, holding the magic-charged hat. He lifted it and tried it on.
As soon as Noah put it on, the blue glow emanating from the maw at the top intensified, and a strange magical energy began spreading throughout his body. The sensation sent shivers down his spine.
"Wow, that was unexpectedly pleasant."
Wearing the hat, he immediately felt a change in his body. He raised his hand and conjured a ball of magic. The magic now had a deeper hue. Previously, his magic had been blue, turning green when using the Resolve Rune. But now, the energy had taken on a deep blue-violet tone.
The magic had changed not just visually; he could feel it was much stronger and more destructive—all thanks to the hat on his head.
"Not bad," Noah said, watching the magical sphere in his hand intently before throwing it forward.
"Whoosh~"
The magical projectile transformed into a lethal beam that struck the vibranium wall. This material, known for absorbing any impact, emitted a slight hum in response to the magical hit.
Previously, when he tested his magic, it was absorbed by the vibranium without a trace. But now, enhanced by the hat, his magic was so powerful that it even drew a reaction from the vibranium.
"Wow, what power!"
Surprised by the result, Noah focused on his magic again. It smoothly shifted from deep blue-violet to light blue and back. He was relieved to note that, despite the enhancement from the hat, he could still control his magic freely without fear of an uncontrolled surge of power.
After completing his experiments with the new equipment, Noah asked Lissandra to bring him a mirror. He looked at his reflection: holding the Riftmaker, wearing Rabadon's Deathcap on his head. If he had a robe, he could fully pass for a mage.
While Noah posed in front of the mirror, he heard the system's voice.
[Detected that the Summoner possesses six complete items. Equipment panel is updating.]
"What? An update?" The system's voice made him pause. He opened the control panel and saw the message: "Updating."
Honestly, he didn't pay much attention to this panel as it merely provided some stat bonuses. Equipment placed there didn't feel the same as holding it in his hands. For instance, with Statikk Shiv and Muramana in the panel, he couldn't use them for attacks.
As a result, he often forgot about the panel and would put items there only after use if he remembered at all. This showed just how insignificant the panel was, easy to overlook.
But now that he had assembled a full set of six items, the panel began updating. Noah waited with interest, hoping that the panel would become more useful and functional. However, while the update continued, he had another question to consider.
"Isn't the Riftmaker a mythic item? Why doesn't it seem special?"
He lifted the staff, its purple eye embedded at the top, and examined it carefully, finding nothing unusual. Were all system-created items ordinary, with no distinction between mythic and standard ones?
"System, could you clarify this for me?" Noah asked, hoping for an answer even while the system was updating.
[Summoner, all equipment created by the system is standard legendary gear and does not include mythic items. If the Summoner wishes to create mythic equipment, I recommend summoning Ornn, the Fire Below the Mountain, and using his power for forging.]
"Ornn? Yes, I'd love to summon him myself."
It turned out that mythic equipment required Ornn, which made sense since he was the God of forging, and crafting mythic artifacts was his specialty.
While thinking about mythic equipment, the update of the equipment panel was completed.
[Equipment panel update complete. Summoner, please review the notification for update details.]
"What is this, like a game update?" Noah commented with mild annoyance and clicked the notification link. A message appeared on the screen.
[Once the Summoner collects six legendary items, the system will update the equipment panel. The updated panel will allow you to gain 70% of the abilities from equipped items (this can be increased) and will add two additional slots (which can also be expanded). We hope this update brings more enjoyment to the Summoner!]
"This update... is pretty good," he said after carefully reading the text on the screen and understanding the changes. Now, placing equipment in the panel meant he could use its abilities and effects, not just receive stat bonuses as before.
He decided to test the updated equipment panel. He moved Statikk Shiv from his inventory to the panel. As soon as he completed this action, a spark of yellow lightning flickered from his fingertips.
"Huh?" He raised his hand and felt the surge of lightning within him.
Clenching his fist, he released a powerful burst of lightning, illuminating the white training room.
"Now I can cosplay as the God of Thunder. Move over, Thor! Ha-ha," Noah couldn't contain his joy as he realized he could control lightning directly from his body. This was a completely different sensation than using a weapon to produce lightning. Grinning, he started firing bolts of lightning in all directions.
"Although, maybe I should leave Thor alone. Time to ask Zeus to make some space," he joked as he calmed down after playing around.
Then he placed all six items in the equipment panel to test their power one by one. The effect of Muramana was similar to that of Rabadon's Deathcap—both boosted his magic. When combined in the panel with the Riftmaker, his magic turned a dark, rich purple, instilling fear and a sense of destructive force just at the sight.
The power of Guardian Angel allowed him to emit a holy light, making him appear like a paladin. He hadn't tested the resurrection ability yet, but he was confident it would work even while stored in the panel. After adding Mikael's Blessing, he found he could use its cleansing ability on others, but he lost the ability to soothe with the bell's chime. He decided it would be better to keep that item on hand.
Noah was hesitant to use the Riftmaker's power in this place. He planned to find an empty area far from his mansion to avoid unintentionally opening a rift to the Void, as the consequences could be unpredictable. Even though the Void was likely dormant at the moment, he didn't want to risk destabilizing it with his actions.
However, when he removed Rabadon's Deathcap from the equipment panel, it expressed displeasure, spinning restlessly in the air as if protesting being stored away. He promised not to lock it in the panel again, and it calmed down.
Some items were indeed better kept on hand, like Mikael's Blessing, which was compact enough to carry. As for the hat, he thought he could also wear it. It could move on its own and perhaps be shrunk down like Doctor Strange's cloak. If that didn't work, he could always use Lulu's magic to shrink it.
"I wonder how to boost the effects and expand the panel?" After testing the equipment, Noah recalled that the notification mentioned the ability to improve the 70% effect and increase the number of slots to eight. However, the system hadn't specified how to do this, leaving him to figure it out on his own.
"Alright, I'll look into that later," he decided. For now, he had enough resources, and he could deal with upgrading the panel in the future.
"That's it for today. I'm pleased with the results."
This time, Noah had acquired a new hero, two legendary items, upgraded the equipment panel, and obtained numerous potions and the Control Ward he needed. Overall, this summoning was quite successful.
