"I've got something for you, Alpha," Marcus said, leaning against the doorframe of Ethan's office, his expression tense. "You might want to brace yourself."
"What is it?" Ethan replied, not bothering to look up from the pile of reports cluttering his desk. The tensions between the Blackwood and Silvermist Packs had reached a boiling point, and he had too much on his mind to deal with surprises.
"Liam Stormbringer is alive," Marcus said, his voice low. "And he sent a message."
Ethan's head snapped up, his heart pounding at the name he had only whispered in nightmares. "What do you mean, alive? I thought we dealt with him years ago."
"Apparently not," Marcus said, handing over a folded piece of parchment. "He claims he has secrets that could destroy both our packs. And it gets worse—he says Avery holds the key, and she must be eliminated."
