Harvey and Sonia continued their conversation while enjoying their meal.
When Harvey inquired about what the current members of the Void Church were up to, Sonia focused on sharing useful information.
"Mr. Darm, Mr. Barnett, Mr. Primo, and Mr. Philip have all successfully passed the Nova Corps' evaluation and joined the ranks as one-star officers," she explained. "Their lives may still be modest, but it seems they've endured hardship and are on the path to better days."
"Now that they occasionally help out, some tasks are much easier for me," Sonia added.
Most members of the Void Church, upon gaining greater power, prioritized using that strength to earn more money.
In this universe, making a quick fortune for those with strength was relatively easy.
However, Darm, Barnett, Primo, and Philip hadn't quit their jobs after joining the Void Church.
Instead, they took on side gigs, making about five hundred thousand a year.
While this amount seemed decent, especially compared to Harvey's initial salary to Sonia, it wasn't comparable since she could access all of Void Island's liquid assets.
Most members of the Void Church could earn ten thousand for just one bounty task, and some could make significantly more in a week than Darm and his friends would in an entire year.
Naturally, the four of them, earning just over five hundred thousand a year, were living the hardest lives among the members.
But their patience paid off. After waiting for over a year and passing multiple assessments, the four successfully joined the Nova Corps, dramatically increasing their earning potential.
Now, they could earn at least five million a year, and as they achieved military accomplishments and advanced to two-star officers, their earnings would only increase.
"Have they finally joined?" Harvey recalled the big guys when he heard Darm's name.
"Mr. Kassadin, did you play a role in their joining the Nova Corps?" Sonia asked, surprised.
"I didn't instruct them to do so, but I knew they wished to join," Harvey replied. "Though they could have taken an easier route, enduring hardship is the path to greatness, and they've persevered."
He smiled, shaking his head slightly.
He had wanted Darm to join the Nova Corps to help the Void Church establish a solid foundation on Xandar.
However, his involvement was indirect; their decision stemmed from their aspirations.
With the Nova Corps' armor, their strength would see a qualitative leap.
After all, the Nova armor was very powerful, rivaling even Tony's Iron Man suit, if not surpassing it.
Acquiring Nova armor meant they could wield Nova Force, gaining various additional superpowers and the ability to traverse the cosmos.
Xandar had become one of the most famous empires in the universe, largely due to the influence of the Nova armor.
By patiently joining the ranks, Darm and his friends would gain early access to an array of powers, which would facilitate their personal growth.
"That's great! Aside from those four, what about the other members of the Void Church?" Harvey asked. "Are they all pursuing their paths?"
"Yes, they seem to be enjoying themselves—partying, surrounded by beautiful women. Don't you think that's a bit too lazy?" Sonia looked at Kassadin, concerned.
"There's no such thing as laziness; the Void Church has no strict rules, allowing them to live freely," Harvey replied. "I'd prefer they maintain that mindset; if they can't, that's when problems will arise."
"Indeed, if they're not satisfied with their current situation, it could lead to more issues," Sonia nodded. "So I plan to develop Void Island further over the next few years. When they grow tired of leisure, I can arrange stable, easy jobs for them."
"Then you can assign them titles and positions," she continued. "This way, they'll feel a greater sense of belonging and personal identity within the Void Church, making it easier for me to gather intelligence on their activities."
Sonia's proposal made sense, considering her increasing power. Other members of the Void Church might not be as driven as her, but their strength would steadily grow.
While Kassadin could keep them in line while stationed on Void Island, he wouldn't always be there, which necessitated finding ways to stabilize their sentiments and keep a close eye on their actions.
This would help avoid any chaotic situations that could arise from miscommunication.
"What you suggested is necessary, but we don't need to be so overt just yet," Harvey noted. "We should take a softer approach. When they plan to go far away, they should inform us casually, even if it's just perfunctory."
"We'll plant a seed in their minds," he concluded.
"Understood."
"There are currently five hundred and nine members in the Void Church. I'll handle the information gathering," Sonia affirmed after contemplating.
"You can start, but if it becomes overwhelming, find a trustworthy person to help you out."
"Train them to take over the reporting duties, preferably a capable and charming woman."
"Since the majority of the Void Church is male, even without strict rules, the few women will naturally receive some preferential treatment."
After finishing his meal, Harvey stood up and gazed over Void Island.
"Aside from myself, there are two other women on the island—Leicy and Claudia."
"While both meet your standards of beauty, Claudia is quite assertive. It seems Leicy is the only one who fits the more diplomatic approach."
"Moreover, Leicy knows everyone on the island and should find it easier to manage this role."
"However, she often travels with Reno and the others, making it challenging to keep her on Void Island."
Sonia rose to fetch a drink for Kassadin and shared her thoughts after handing it to him.
"Then we'll look elsewhere for assistance," Harvey replied, fully considering her points without hesitation.
