Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: Void Island

"I want more power."

Sonya, without any hesitation, expressed her wish the moment she heard she could make one.

She and Darm had pledged their faith in the Void at the same time, yet it was clear Darm had received much more power than she had. Sonya was confident she would grow stronger over time, but she had to admit her starting point was far too low. More blessings would provide her with a stable foundation, allowing her to walk a smoother path in the future.

As for wealth, it wasn't even on her mind. Sonya understood she was about to enter a world she'd never experienced before. She had seen far too many Nova Corps officers and knew that the difference between ranks, from one to three stars, wasn't about authority or lineage. It was about the strength granted by the Nova Armor, which grew more powerful with each rank.

Sonya was crystal clear about one thing: in a world filled with beings of great power, survival wasn't about beauty, money, or even influence. It was about possessing enough strength to defend oneself in any sudden confrontation.

Harvey listened to her response, not bothering to argue. He simply pointed his finger toward her, and a surge of purple Void energy, along with life force, flooded into Sonya's body. The energy quickly enhanced every cell within her.

The infusion of the Void's energy caused Sonya's once-innocent aura to be tinged with an unspoken allure.

"Great Kassadin, thank you for your mercy," Sonya said, bowing deeply in gratitude, glancing at her reflection in the shining wall nearby. She could feel her senses sharpening, her strength rising with every second.

"This is the reward you've earned," Harvey replied. "Go, take some time to get used to your new power. And while you're at it, find the chefs and bring them here. I'll be waiting at the villa."

Without further word, Harvey vanished from the temple.

"Yes," Sonya replied earnestly, knowing that despite his absence, Kassadin could still hear her. After all, with her newfound strength, she could now hear even the faintest rustle of wind outside the temple. A being as powerful as Kassadin—capable of crossing galaxies in a single step—likely had his gaze fixed on the entire island, if not the whole world.

With that, Sonya stepped out of the temple. Her initial steps were cautious, but after a few meters, her pace picked up, and within minutes, she was darting between trees, moving gracefully like a butterfly. The sensation of the breeze brushing her face and her ability to sense everything within a hundred meters thrilled her.

"This is the power of the Void," she thought, marveling at her abilities. "Glorious Kassadin, I am eternally grateful for this opportunity you've bestowed upon me."

Sonya leaped lightly onto the branch of a towering tree, her snow-white feet barely causing a tremor. With perfect balance, she ascended to the treetop, twenty meters above the ground, gazing out over the distant sea. Her eyes sparkled with awe and reverence.

Meanwhile, Harvey reappeared inside an opulent villa. The layout of the place was almost exactly as he had instructed Sonya, and he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction. The villa was nestled halfway up a hill, close to the island's highest point. From the balcony, Harvey had an unobstructed view of the harbor, stretching out for dozens of miles.

Sonya had considered his abilities, designing the villa at such a vantage point that he could oversee the entire island from here. The balcony was even equipped with a telescope, ensuring that whenever Sonya tended to him, she could easily monitor every corner of the island.

Harvey wandered through the villa, noting that apart from the areas surrounding the villa, the harbor, and the training room, no other places on the island were under surveillance. Sonya had been thoughtful about this, recognizing that excessive monitoring would be unnecessary. Harvey had no issue with this. After all, nobody liked living under constant surveillance.

However, one thing did catch his interest—the gravity device in the training room. He mused about taking it back to Earth for Tony to examine. Even if Tony couldn't replicate the technology entirely, he might gain some valuable insights from it, potentially advancing Earth's technology significantly.

After exploring the villa, Harvey casually pulled out his universal communicator and sent a message without much preamble:

"Embrace the Void and evolve into something greater—Void God Kassadin.

The Church of the Void offers everyone a chance to change their fate. If you seek power, come to Void Island, forty nautical miles southeast of Fallen Star Harbor."

With that task complete, Harvey set his sights on the training facility, located twenty miles from the villa. The gravity chamber was a true marvel. Harvey recalled the legendary Dragon Ball series from his previous life, where Goku trained under intense gravity and came out vastly more powerful. The idea of training in such a setting was incredibly appealing.

Now that he possessed great power, Harvey was eager to test out the gravity training for himself. He wanted to see if a hundredfold gravity would yield the same results it did in the anime. Earth's technology hadn't been advanced enough for this kind of training back then, but now, with this high-tech gravity chamber available, Harvey couldn't resist giving it a go.

In an instant, Harvey appeared outside the training ground.

From the outside, the entire structure resembled a massive black tower, forged from jet-black metal. It spanned over 500 meters and had ten floors. Each floor was clearly labeled with numbers, the highest floor offering twice the gravity of Earth and the lowest offering a hundredfold.

Even without additional weights, simply adapting from one floor to the next would push the limits of any being's body, transforming them into something far beyond human.

It wasn't something a normal person could survive. Even with the help of gene serums or other advanced treatments, the adaptation process would undoubtedly involve unimaginable pain. No wonder Sonya had explained that constructing this facility had been costly.

Out of the 150 million credits she had requested, it seemed a third of it had gone into building this gravity training center.

Five million credits for a gravity chamber that no ordinary person could even use—it sounded insane. But for those blessed by the Void's power, this place would be invaluable.

Under extreme conditions, rapid adaptation and evolution were part of the Void's nature. Though the process would be painful, it would likely be much quicker than traditional methods. Once a person fully evolved, the power they gained would last a lifetime without the side effects that came with artificial enhancements.

Harvey stepped inside the training room.

As soon as he crossed the threshold, the lights automatically flickered on. Though the tower appeared dark from the outside, the interior was surprisingly bright. He didn't feel any changes in gravity, which made sense. The gravity controls were probably localized to specific areas, activated by special equipment.

It was clear now why the entire tower wasn't under constant gravitational pressure. Not only would the ground beneath it crumble, but the workers who had installed the equipment wouldn't have survived the construction process.

Covering the whole tower with this gravity tech would've cost far more than five million credits anyway.
