Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Unattainable Fantasy

Harvey didn't have to wait more than ten minutes before Sonia arrived with the food.

The speed of service was far beyond what he was used to on Earth, whether dining out or ordering delivery. This efficiency left Harvey more than satisfied.

Once again, Sonia carefully set the dishes on the table.

Harvey remained silent, diving straight into the meal. The food was an assortment of dishes he hadn't tasted before, and it seemed that the upcoming month would be filled with culinary delights.

Noticing that Mr. Kassadin didn't offer any feedback but continued eating, Sonia also kept quiet. She simply cleared the empty plates and replaced them with new dishes.

In less than half an hour, the entire meal—enough for 150 people—had disappeared into Mr. Kassadin's stomach. The sheer speed, paired with his elegant eating habits, left Sonia curious about who exactly he was.

But she knew better than to pry into the lives of the guests she served.

"Well, you're free for the rest of the day," Harvey said, dabbing his mouth with a napkin. "Make sure to have breakfast ready for me tomorrow at 8 a.m."

"Understood, Mr. Kassadin. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to call on me," Sonia replied with a professional smile as she gathered the plates and wheeled the cart away.

Though she left with a smile, Sonia knew tonight's sleep would be anything but restful. Guests of the Elite Hotel were notorious for making sudden demands, no matter the hour.

Still, she'd dealt with more difficult clients before. This was nothing she couldn't handle.

After Sonia left, Harvey checked his status. His evolution points had now reached 2,160,000. This last meal alone had given him a boost of 64,000 points.

Without hesitation, he used the points to further evolve his Void Skin, summoning the image of a massive mantis shadow behind him. Void Skin had now been upgraded 82 times.

Harvey had learned that the stronger his body became, the more his abilities were amplified. Not only did this give him increased durability, but it also enhanced the powers he'd already mastered.

With the evolution complete, Harvey headed to the bathroom to take a bath while reviewing bounty missions on his intergalactic communicator.

Now that he no longer needed to remain hidden, he was determined to earn wealth as quickly as possible.

Harvey wasn't interested in low-tier bounties—they weren't worth his time and wouldn't help him build the reputation he needed. Instead, he scrolled straight to the second and third-tier bounties.

The closest second-tier jobs had already been taken, except for the Sandstorm Calamity—a job so difficult that everyone who'd tried to complete it had failed.

Ignoring that, Harvey filtered the list for disaster-elimination missions with a minimum bounty of 4.5 million units. These missions not only offered generous rewards but also provided him with food sources—a bonus.

After some deliberation, he chose a mission to exterminate an alien queen and her brood, a third-tier bounty worth a massive 20 million units.

There was also a first-tier long-term support mission available—helping to defend against insectoid hive attacks, paying 10,000 units a day—but Harvey dismissed it after a glance.

With his next objective in mind, Harvey finished his bath and went straight to bed.

For most people, visiting a new planet—especially one in a different galaxy—would bring excitement or perhaps even a sense of unease, making it hard to sleep. But Harvey had planned this journey for a long time and felt completely at ease.

He drifted off to sleep almost immediately.

The next morning, at precisely 8 a.m., Sonia arrived with Harvey's breakfast.

Seeing Mr. Kassadin awake and ready for the day, Sonia couldn't help but feel a bit surprised.

Most guests at the Elite Hotel—whether men or women—led vibrant night lives and typically slept in until noon, if not later. Guests who maintained a normal daily routine were rare.

"Good morning, Mr. Kassadin," Sonia greeted, quickly hiding her surprise and offering her usual polite smile.

"Good morning, Sonia."

Harvey glanced at her, acknowledging her punctuality with a nod as he continued with his breakfast.

"Do you have any plans for the day, Mr. Kassadin?" she asked, arranging the delicate breakfast dishes on the table. "If you'd like, I can give you a tour of the hotel's public floors and introduce you to our amenities."

If a guest left with a positive impression of her service, it could boost her performance reviews. And when they returned, they might even request her by name.

"If I had nothing to do, I might've taken you up on that. But I have work to take care of today," Harvey said, pausing for a moment before continuing his meal.

"No worries. If you change your mind, just let me know," Sonia replied smoothly, showing no sign of offense or awkwardness.

One of the fundamental rules at the Elite Hotel was to never pry into a guest's business. Sonia had no desire to break that rule by asking about Mr. Kassadin's plans.

"Once I'm finished with breakfast, I'll be heading out for the day. Feel free to rest unless I call for you," Harvey said, a glimmer of approval in his eyes. He appreciated how Sonia respected his privacy.

"Understood. I'll be ready when you need me," Sonia answered with a professional smile. Despite the offer to rest, she didn't take it seriously. Guests often said that, but it rarely meant much.

After spending an hour finishing his meal, Harvey vanished from the room without a trace.

"Mr. Kassadin? Mr. Kassadin, are you still here?"

Sonia cautiously called out, but no response came. It was as if he'd disappeared into thin air.

"Invisibility… phasing through walls… teleportation, maybe?" she muttered to herself, both amazed and envious.

In a place like Xandar, it wasn't uncommon to see visitors from other worlds, some of whom possessed extraordinary abilities. Having superpowers was an enviable trait because it opened up countless opportunities, even the possibility of leaving Xandar and pursuing greater ambitions on other planets.

Sonia had once fantasized about what her life would be like if she had powers of her own. She wouldn't need to work herself to the bone every day, earning a meager wage and constantly catering to the whims of demanding guests.

But it was just a fantasy.

She wasn't born with powers, and there was no hope of her joining the Nova Corps, the only other way for a Xandarian to gain abilities.

With a sigh, Sonia cleared the table and left the room, pushing her dreams aside.
