Two days quickly passed.
Around 1 PM that day, Harvey donned his dark cloak, enveloping himself in an aura of chilling coldness.
He then became invisible and left his home to head towards the meeting location specified by the bounty.
Normally, Harvey would drive or take a plane when he was in his usual identity, but when operating as the Grim Reaper, he didn't need to hide at all.
In less than an hour, Harvey arrived at the designated location.
He looked around and listened carefully, noting that within the building, there were only three life signs and no other presence.
Some people were lingering in the distance, watching the area with a certain degree of attention.
Harvey observed that they were dressed in suits and ties, appearing to be typical office workers, but their life energy levels were above average, indicating that they were stronger than normal people.
Although Harvey couldn't directly discern their identities, he could tell their strength by their life energy.
While absorbing their life energy could grant him many evolution points, Harvey wasn't inclined to kill without reason—unless the situation required it.
Judging by their attire, these individuals were likely undercover FBI agents, mercenaries, or spies.
Harvey didn't dwell on it further and decided to wait and see who he was supposed to meet.
He wasn't a mutant with a naive sense of mercy, who worried about which targets he could or couldn't harm.
If anyone showed him clear hostility or attempted to attack him, he would deal with them accordingly.
Harvey descended from the sky to the sixth floor and, upon seeing a red-haired, beautiful woman and two other individuals in the room, he immediately recognized them. He then passed through the window and entered the floor.
Nick Fury, Coulson, and Natasha were all waiting for the Grim Reaper, the mercenary, to arrive.
Harvey materialized in the triangular space surrounded by Natasha, Nick Fury, and Coulson.
"What exactly do you want me to do?" Harvey's voice suddenly emerged, making Nick Fury, Coulson, and Natasha turn around.
Natasha instinctively drew her gun and aimed it in the direction of the voice.
The tall figure draped in a black cloak exuded such a cold aura that it seemed to freeze the entire room's temperature.
When Natasha saw the figure in the black cloak emanating a chilling aura, a bead of cold sweat trickled down her forehead.
Nick Fury turned around, his single eye narrowing in response.
Coulson also drew his gun, his eyelids twitching upon seeing the figure, though his training kept him composed enough not to show his shock. The swallowed lump in his throat revealed his inner unease.
Nick Fury observed the figure's aura and thought that if this person were holding a scythe, they would perfectly fit the Grim Reaper's description.
Nick Fury realized that he had indeed found the right person. This was undoubtedly a powerful individual with superhuman abilities.
"I believe you must be Mr. Grim Reaper."
"I'm Nick Fury, the person who contacted you on the dark web. Do you mind if we sit down and talk?"
Nick Fury promptly adjusted his demeanor and spoke politely.
Harvey moved and took a seat on the sofa, appearing to have instantly teleported in the eyes of Nick Fury, Natasha, and Coulson.
"This is our first meeting, and since it's purely instinctive on your part, I won't hold it against you this time."
"But if you continue to point guns at me or attempt to shoot, I'll consider that a sign of hostility and treat you as enemies."
Harvey's voice was cold and slightly warning.
Natasha and Coulson broke out in a cold sweat at this veiled threat.
Nick Fury, hearing this blunt warning, immediately marked the Grim Reaper as an extremely dangerous individual in his mind.
With years of experience as a spy and interactions with Captain Marvel, Nick Fury knew just how powerful and dangerous superhumans could be.
Nick Fury responded swiftly, his face breaking into a friendly smile as he raised his hands slightly in a non-threatening gesture and walked towards the sofa opposite Harvey.
"We have no intention of being hostile or shooting at you, so please calm down."
"Let's discuss our matters amicably."
Once Nick Fury had seated himself, he lowered his outstretched hands.
"Regardless of what you wish to discuss, given that you've been chosen, the deposit should be at least ten million dollars."
"I assume you have prepared the money and won't leave me empty-handed, correct?"
Harvey addressed the matter directly, showing no concern for Nick Fury's actions.
"Of course."
Nick Fury nodded in agreement, having already prepared the money as per Grim Reaper's rules.
Coulson, receiving the signal from his superior, put away his gun and opened several large boxes, revealing stacks of cash.
Seeing the money, Harvey understood that Nick Fury had made adequate preparations for the meeting.
While he had guessed that Nick Fury's purpose for meeting him was clear, he chose not to address it.
"Well then, let's discuss."
"Whether it's assassination, eliminating troublesome opponents, stealing important documents, or escorting someone, I can handle it."
"Do you have a specific task in mind?"
Harvey chose to treat Nick Fury as a typical bounty issuer and began the inquiry.
"Mr. Grim Reaper, let me introduce myself."
"I'm Nick Fury, the Director of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division."
"The purpose of this meeting is to discuss matters that are beyond the understanding of ordinary people."
Nick Fury began his formal introduction.
As for Natasha and Coulson, it wasn't appropriate to provide too much information about themselves before Grim Reaper agreed to join them.
"Compared to the easily remembered and pronounced FBI, your department's name is quite long and cumbersome."
Harvey remarked, quietly noting the name.
Nick Fury, Coulson, and Natasha displayed mild embarrassment at Harvey's comment.
Nick Fury cleared his throat, attempting to alleviate the awkwardness, and then seriously addressed Harvey.
"Ahem, the name is indeed a bit lengthy. We are considering how to revise or abbreviate it."
"However, the name is not important. What matters is what I'm about to tell you."
"Mr. Grim Reaper, although I don't know your specific abilities, I believe you are a superhuman with complete confidence in your strength."
"Even so, despite your power, what you have encountered so far is only a small part of the world."
Nick Fury began his persuasive pitch, aiming to convince Harvey to join the Avengers.
Harvey, while not claiming complete knowledge of the Marvel Universe, was aware of most things and couldn't possibly be ignorant of such matters.
"Are you saying that your so-called Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division knows more than I do?"
Harvey calmly responded.
"Yes, first, you need to be mentally prepared and have a broad perspective to understand what I'm about to say."
"We are still in the early stages of exploring the universe and there are unknown aliens."
"They have visited Earth before. Fortunately, a superhero named Captain Marvel helped us repel those aliens."
"If we hadn't been able to repel them, humanity's fate would have been unimaginable."
Nick Fury spoke with deep emotion.
"Sounds like there's no need to prepare mentally."
"Since there are superhumans like me, it's not surprising to have aliens, right?"
"Moreover, even if they are aliens, they can't harm me."
Harvey responded unperturbed.
This wasn't because Harvey was familiar with the Marvel Universe but because, in any world, having a superhuman or strong being would naturally imply the existence of powerful races, such as aliens.
For example, in the League of Legends universe, there are other races beyond humans, which, from a human perspective, could also be considered intelligent aliens.
Nick Fury was taken aback by Harvey's response, looking puzzled.
Most people would be surprised or at least impressed upon hearing about alien invasions and how a hero helped humanity fend off such threats.
Why did this Grim Reaper seem utterly unfazed?
Then Nick Fury thought of something and, looking carefully at the faceless Grim Reaper, asked cautiously:
"Forgive me for being blunt, but Mr. Grim Reaper, where are you from? What race are you—human or alien?"
The question left Harvey in thought.
The reason for his pause was:
According to his previous life and the situation of being in this body, he was undoubtedly human.
However, with the assistance of the Void System, he had the infinite evolution abilities of the Void species and a lifespan that could be extraordinarily long.
He could also transform into the terrifying form of the Void Predator Kha'Zix, with enhanced strength.
Moreover, he would gain more powers of the Void species in the future. So, was he currently human or Void?
Harvey had never really pondered this question, and now he was seriously considering it.
Nick Fury, Natasha, and Coulson, seeing the Grim Reaper suddenly fall into thought and not speaking, began to feel tense.
Natasha and Coulson had heard Nick Fury mention Captain Marvel and knew that their department possessed some alien materials and technology.
So they believed in the existence of aliens in the universe.
However, belief was one thing, and having never seen aliens themselves, they were concerned about this potentially alien Grim Reaper.
If this Grim Reaper was indeed an alien, lacking a sense of belonging to Earth or humanity, it could be a dangerous situation.
