I looked up to see that the police had burst through the doors, leaving a loud bang that echoed through the exhibition hall. It was almost as if it was a scene right out of an action movie. Their faces each bore a serious expression and a frown was etched between their brows as their eyes swept over the crowd that formed.
The people who witnessed everything shifted their gaze anxiously with a hint of excitement twinkling in their eyes. And soon enough, they broke into whispers and murmurs once again, the atmosphere remained tense.
Despite my racing heart, my dark eyes were gleaming with a knowing look while a smirk appeared on Evelyn's lips and her eyes lit up the moment she noticed the police officers standing in front of us.
"Oh my god… the police are here…" one pointed out, his low voice laced with anticipation.
"Are they here to arrest her?" Another questioned with a raised brow while the woman beside her nodded.
