"Oh gosh, what do I do? Do I answer his call? What if he finds out about us and our plan?" She questioned, her voice laced with fear and concern as a flustered expression masked her features.
"Don't worry, just answer it. Stay calm, okay?" I reassured her, nodding my head. "Stay calm."
She nodded. Her fingers hovered over the button for a while as she hesitated before she finally answered the phone. "Hello," she greeted.
"What took you so long to answer my call?!" I could hear his loud voice booming through the phone, the words that left his lips were coated with anger. "Are you cheating on me? Is there another man in the house right now?" He accused this time, his words dripping with accusation.
Her eyes immediately widened to the size of a saucer and she gulped inaudibly, panic written all over her face. "No, no, of course not!" She quickly denied. "I'm always loyal and faithful to you. I was just…" she stammered, not knowing what to say.
