Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Man Who Influenced the Marines for Five Hundred Years (Part 1)

"I knew Rear Admiral Chiba would succeed with his research. Didn't I say so?"

"Oh, really? Captain Hayakawa, I recall you saying yesterday that improving physical strength in such a short period is unscientific and a waste of resources to have 300 people working on it."

"That's about ordinary people. Rear Admiral Chiba is no ordinary person—he's the most talented scholar and researcher in Marine history. I have immense admiration for him. Anyone who questions my loyalty to Rear Admiral Chiba will have to deal with me."

Captain Hayakawa shot a glare at his grinning colleague, then approached Chiba with a smile. "Rear Admiral, we're from Vice Admiral Garp's unit. In the Marines, you're like a prince to us."

"Prince, if you ever need anything, just call on me, Hayakawa." He thumped his chest proudly.

Chiba glanced at Hayakawa, his expression serious. "There are no princes in the Marines, and I won't tolerate the formation of factions. I don't want to hear that title again."

With that, Chiba walked away.

He understood that within the Marines, many factions existed. Though he didn't reject the idea of alliances, such behavior was strictly forbidden. If Hayakawa openly mentioned it, it would only attract unwanted attention.

Moreover, Chiba knew that Hayakawa had only approached him now because he saw his potential. Chiba preferred to keep his distance from opportunists like that. However, it also reminded him that in the Marines, he needed his own loyal allies.

Returning to the research lab, Chiba began to simplify the Divine Elephant Suppressing Prison Force.

He developed three versions:

Version 1: Qi and Physical Training Method

This version could absorb the natural energy of the world, activate cells, and increase their energy by up to five times. It wouldn't form the giant elephant placenta. This was the version he planned to give Sengoku as a gesture of goodwill, ensuring the marshal would continue to support his research with Marine resources.

Version 2: Divine Power Awakening Method

This version allowed for the absorption of natural energy, the initial activation of particles, and their awakening. It could increase physical energy by up to 10-15 times. This version would be reserved for Chiba's closest allies—his core team. Wherever one was, it was crucial to build a loyal group.

Version 3: Giant Elephant Suppressing Prison Force

This version absorbed the natural energy, activated particles, and formed the giant elephant placenta. It was a highly simplified version of the Divine Elephant Suppressing Prison Force, capable of reaching only the Giant Elephant Realm. Even at its peak, it couldn't compare to the version Chiba himself practiced. Nevertheless, even awakening the particles could increase physical energy by at least 20 times. If mastered, physical energy could increase up to a hundred times—a terrifying boost. However, it was also extremely difficult to practice. Chiba estimated that only one out of 100,000 people would succeed.

After finalizing the three versions, Chiba wrote out the first version with detailed notes and explanations for various terms.

An hour later, he made his way to the marshal's office.

Inside Sengoku's office, Sengoku looked at Garp enviously. "Garp, you've been wandering around carefree for the past three months, sinking pirate ships with a single punch?"

Garp, relaxed, crossed his legs and took a sip of tea. "I'm getting old. I want to sail while I still can. In a few years, I won't have the strength even if I want to."

Sengoku sighed, reminiscing. "Back in the day, you, me, and Tsuru sailed the seas together on a warship. Those were the days—so free and full of adventure. I wonder if I'll ever get that chance again."

Garp grinned. "You became the marshal, so forget about it."

Sengoku's face twitched, and he slammed the table. "You've got some nerve! If you hadn't refused the Admiral position back then, you don't know who might be marshal today!"

Garp casually picked his ear. "Oh, come on. You were happy when you were chosen as marshal. So, what's all this about? Why'd you call me back?"

Sengoku's expression grew serious. "Garp, how do you handle your family? Your son became the leader of the Revolutionary Army, and now your grandson Luffy is a pirate, causing chaos on the seas. It's all over the news."

He scolded Garp, his tone harsh. Garp's face darkened, his fists clenching tightly, but he said nothing. Sengoku was right—he had failed to guide his son and grandson.

Just then, a herald entered the room, breaking the tense atmosphere. "Marshal, Rear Admiral Chiba has arrived and requests an audience."
