Chapter 66: Robin's Heart is Disturbed
Robin's face flushed as Chiba teased her.
"Mr. Chiba, you're not going to tell anyone about this, are you?" Robin looked up at him with bright eyes. In the short time they'd spent together, she had already come to understand Chiba's personality. Like Luffy, he was carefree and spirited, but unlike Luffy, Chiba had a calculating mind and a knack for subtle manipulation.
While Robin had grown comfortable around the Straw Hats, she was still wary around Chiba. There was a depth to him that kept her on guard.
Chiba chuckled, pointing to his cheek. "Give me a kiss, and I'll keep it a secret."
He looked at Robin with a playful smile, clearly enjoying her discomfort.
Robin, the beauty of the Straw Hat crew, found herself completely off balance. Although she was older than Chiba, he had an air about him that made her feel unexpectedly vulnerable. She'd always thought of herself as calm and composed, but Chiba's playful charm was making her heart race.
For a moment, Robin froze, stunned by his request. The suggestion felt bold, even a bit improper. Robin's eyes flew open in horror. She hadn't expected him to say that, and her face flushed a deep red. She wanted nothing more than to disappear.
"Mr. Chiba, you… you scoundrel!" she stammered, thoroughly embarrassed. She turned and bolted from the room as Chiba's laughter echoed after her.
Furious and flustered, Robin ran down the hall, her mind a whirlwind of emotions. She was usually so composed, the mature and steady presence on the crew. Yet today, she had let Chiba's teasing get under her skin.
The more she thought about it, the more embarrassed she felt. Why am I letting this affect me so much? she wondered, feeling her heart beat faster. Could it be that I actually… like him? She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts.
No! That can't be… He's insufferable! An arrogant, irritating jerk! But… somehow… he makes me feel… warm.
As her mind continued to spiral, Robin's emotions shifted from embarrassment to anger. How dare he make me feel this way? she thought, clenching her fists. She vowed to find a way to get back at him and reclaim her pride.

Unlike his gentle approach with Robin, Chiba was far less accommodating with Hawkins. The unwilling pirate found himself subjected to intense, almost brutal study.
"Stop… please!" Hawkins begged, but Chiba silenced him, determined to learn every detail of his unique abilities.
